Morning. Out the door to Edgecombe to trim shooting lanes. Got a young man to handle pole saw. That is good as old back not the best this AM. Too much lifting working on tractor [now fixed and running good] and big bags of corn from tractor supply. Removed gas tank and washed it out.  Seems they thought they had washed it out without removing it.  Looked good inside.  Got new strainer for gas bowl.  All clean and running good now.  Filled it up this time.  Mow tomorrow all day.

Enjoy your day.

Morning.  Green Tea in my mug this morning at work.  Still building 53' white boxes with TVs in them. Somebody has to do it.

Cool here again today.  I'm not complaining as this is my weather.

Everyone stay safe and healthy.

Mornin' boys.  Sunny and 53 along the Patterson Creek cut-off.  Will be heading up to Cumberland, then the railyard later for some chores.  Did finish painting the ceiling in nursery yesterday, then patched the scars-marks-nail holes in the upstairs hallway.  Middle Princess needs to pick a color.  Wifey and I power-washed and scrubbed their deck and back of house, then sat down to a nice bbq chicken dinner.  I have a few small projects to finish up today.

Thoughts to all my friends hurting.  Right there with you.

Afternoon folks!

Happy October! Sunny and low 80's after a cool front last night!

Got the ECM in the El Cam to power up yesterday and proper voltages for test of wiring harness (with no sensors/controls connected). The fire did not destroy the ECM. Working on next level test with some sensors/controls and in parallel getting back to the AC hoses/etc/

Afternoon all.

been a quiet day here today. Had some errands this a.m. but after that, it's just been-kick-back alley LOL.

Got more stuff removed from the train room and back into the shed :).

otherwise been keeping busy removing shrubbery that the wife wants it gone, ( well cutting it even with the ground. I will kill it later.  Can only do so much at a time. The city restricts how much yard trash they will pick-up at a time.

Hope all doing well

Talk to you all later

Happy Friday Eve

After work, ran to pick up Jenni and go to Harbor Freight.  That was a bust, they changed their hours and closed at 7 not 8.  Had Sonic for dinner, and I brought my 1130 with me, in the off chance that Trains and Things was open.  Yes it's a Scout engine, however, being an early build and semi rare (silver stamped number), I dropped it off to have the E-Unit either repaired or replaced.
Looked around for a bit, will be back to purchase when the 1130 is done.  Will most likely keep it as an occasional runner and display piece, like my Dad's 1666.

Fire drill and we'll see if the launch from Wallop's Island is visible tonight.  938 launch time.

That's all from here......

Tonight my church leadership officially cancelled our Christmas train theme outreach event. While I knew it was coming, it really hurts. Dang this virus.

Good evening all,

Billwiz, I know the feeling.  Local history museum cancelled our Halloween event, where we have ran our spooky layout the past few years.  Hopefully next year.  Going to the track tomorrow.  Foyt team had some bad luck in qualifying.  Will see what happens in the first race.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Good evening from cloudy 55°F Southern Ohio,

Beautiful outside even with the clouds.  Real busy at work.  We’ve hired 13 operators and we’re training them.  Today's classes were Operation of Auxiliary Substations and Operation of the Emergency Standby Generators.  In additions to the new construction ramping up.  As far as the kitchen remodel, I have the three pantry cabinets cut down and I hope to get them installed tomorrow.  It is official now; the River Days parade that was cancelled on Labor Day will be combined with the Winterfest parade the end of November.  So I’ll frame the back wall for the float maybe Saturday and cut grass.  No football game this weekend, schools closed due to positive covid cases increasing.

May God bless you and you families

Mornin' Fellas

Cooler temps are definitely appreciated. Smile TheQ has me researching options to finish the nook in the great room. Found a place online that sells base cabinets that are precut to 18 inches deep (space is 51" wide x 19" deep). Figure that will be nice as it will leave an inch overhang for the top. Not sure how I'll do shelves for above the cabinet (don't want wall cabinets)... thinking 3/8" thick tempered glass set over a 3 sided frame, maybe 1 arm coming off the back for center support.

Also need to start planning the new Christmas Train Garden for under the tree... fun times!

Morning. Out the door to Louisburg and FIL's. Ride the 140 most of the day. Going to burn the big burn pile out back. They lured me up there with promise of hotdogs on the coals.

Nice cool but warming fast day.

At my favorite stand.

In the rain.  They are there every day.  BUT, mostly early morning before light. [time stamp is 12 hours off.]

Enjoy your day.

TGIF - !!!!

At lunch, yesterday,  I ran over to pick up my phone and I needed to verify my gmail account.  I didn't have my other phone or my tablet and couldn't verify the phone.  I paid and brought it home.  Annnnnnndddddd......it won't boot up.  Extremely frustrated.  I renewed my paid phone, grudgingly.  Jenni stopped by after fire drill (nice to get back to some sense of normalcy), we had a bite to eat then she took the phone.  She lives closer to the phone repair guy, she'll drop it off.  My hours really suck, 930-630, and this leaves me no time to do things after work.

Tonight will run over to Jenni's and return the faucet we bought last week (it's a 4 hole) and get a 3 hole with sprayer.  I'll remove the hoses to make sure we have this done in 1 sitting.

Tomorrow I have to run up into the attic and get Mom's house decorated for Halloween.  I plan to reinforce the foam tombstones with Liquid Nails foam glue and either some plywood or 1x3's to make them heavier and less resistant to remove themselves from the property in the wind.  I'm toying with the idea of putting spikes in the wood for good measure.

Saturday night more errands including fixing both push and riding mowers at Jenni's and Sunday we will cut the grass.Need to clean out Jenni's Charger and HHR.  If we get time, I'll mark out a 25 X 25 area so I can level out that area for the new garage.  Still looking for prebuilt, but may have to do our own building.   Stay tuned

I am putting a Halloween train together for Trick or Treaters this year.  Found a nice Lionel switcher for cheap that I painted in flourescent orange, have some cars filled with pumpkins, skulls and Halloween figures, as well as our Halloween village buildings.  At least Trick or Treaters can see some trains!

Then we are going to video our layouts and put a virtual train event onto YouTube, since we cannot do our thing!

Sorry to hear about your cancellation as well.

Good evening all,

I went home today.  It felt good.  The best AJ's team could do was 13th, and I did not care.  I was at IMS.  There were Indycars on the track.  The fans cheered, the engines roared, and all was right with the world.  Best of all, I get to do it all again tomorrow.  The pain of August will never ever leave completely, but today was the best therapy ever.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

I'm in the process of putting our Halloween together, essentially the same as in the photo. Depending on restrictions it will decide whether it is inside the garage with the ghouls and goblins coming in to watch and get their treat. If the worst happens it will be as close to the garage entrance as possible with a fence and the treats will be handed out from a "social distance".

Morning. Slept late for a change. Cooked scrambled eggs, bacon and toast. Lot of coffee. 65 and sunny. Low was in the high 40's. Wifey and crew cleaning outside of FIL's house today [sure getting late start]. I am being real quite. Think I've done my duty.

Rode Farmall 140 mowing most of the day except when the 15+ year old belt broke on the Woods finish mower. [about time] I now know how to install a new belt on it. Didn't need Buckeye's engineering advice to do it.  Got home at 9 last night.

Resting and maybe Train Box stuff and a few personal chores around THIS house.

Good evening all,

Day 2 was better.  Despite an 18th place finish being the best the team could do, Foyt team gained valuable ground in race for 22nd in owner's points, which is worth over a million bucks in subsidies next year.  Got to see grandson's play as well.  They won and he played well.  Saw Indy 11 blow their playoff spot after starting the season with 4 wins.  Weather was better for the race and the crowd was bigger.  Very glad to be at IMS two days in a row.  Capping the day was being able to attend a complete Mass for the first time in over 7 months.  Although I do enjoy the 30 minute versions in the home parish, attending a full service was very nice.  Get to watch grandson tomorrow, weather permitting.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Mornin' boys.  Mornin' Roy Left HugRight Hug.  Clear and 39 along the Patterson Creek cut-off.  Youngest Princess was successful with her WV driver skills test, dazzling the official with her parallel parking.  She's now Licensed to Thrill.

Picked up my Halloween costume at Wally-World.  Scooby Doo, of course!  Put it on when I walked in to visit FifeMom, and she laughed as hard as I ever heard her when she saw me.  We dined on pumpkin pie with generous topping of Redi-Whip.

Morning.  57 outside.  Wifey asked for heat to be turned on to get the chill out of the house. [about time]  She is always the hold out.

Agenda for today????  Changed from last night.  Want me to go back to FIL's to finish a wall.  We'll see.  I got big three tier fountain ready to put together.  Need three good lifters for bottom bowl.  Then some simple wiring for pump outlet.

Special prayers for Roy.  [anoundced he has cancer]

Hope all have a great week ahead.

Hey guys - some of you know through other sources. I have been diagnosed with cancer - been though lotsa tests last several weeks to confirm. I go for a PET whole body scan tomorrow to see where it may have progressed - hopefully not far - so far it is a Stage 1 diagnosis and is one that is potentially "cureable" and is rare to recur. A new challenge! I will do my best to keep folks up to date and next 2 weeks may be busy. Take care all!

Regards, Roy

Good Evening,

Had a conversation with Roy earlier this evening, he sounds really good, and of course is very optimistic and positive.  (Typical for him).   As he said in his post has a PET Scan tomorrow to get an indication of any additional concern.  Hopefully the worst he will have to go through is tonsil surgery, and an ice cream diet for a few days.  When I hear anything more I will certainly put up a post.

Fife, congrats to your Princess on passing her test!  As you know now the real concerns beging.

Our situation here is definetely changing, Kay and I are getting re-acquainted again, and not getting on each other!!'s nerves yet.  Sounds like her Mom's internment will be Oct 22..  Service is going to be a graveside service for family, as requested.  Kay has been extremely busy with notifications, and all the other required details.  Disposition of her parents house will be relatively easy, I think.  Kay inherited the house and we are going to let Chris rent it.  That appears to be a win-win situation.  He will be paying rent, plus property tax, utilities, & property insurance.  AND everyone is on board with it.

Watched the Nascar races at Talledega this week-end, they are always exciting!  Today was no exception.

Weather has cooled down some, and the days are definetly getting shorter.  It is actually pretty comfortable, and they are getting control of the fires.

All for now,  Take care ALL!!

Prayers for Roy!!

Good evening all,

Prayers for Roy.  I hope all goes well with your diagnosis and recovery.  Grandson's team won 12-1 today.  I suppose I should feel guilty for enjoying such a match, but having been on the receiving end of such a match many times over, it is nice to be on the giving end every once in a while.  Watched the "real" football match I recorded from Saturday along with the race at IMS.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Good morning. Slept late and then cooked stuffed sausage biscuits. Wifey and I watched 10 minutes of news. Then it started repeating what was on Friday. Guess they couldn't come up with anything new. Seemed good to not rush. Weather good until weekend. Farms tomorrow. Big fountain project today.

Morning all.

Had a cold front come through last evening.  Some hail, winds, a very cold rain, and even some thunder.

Spent the weekend on the bike taking a trip up the river form Pittsburgh to McKeesport.  About a 13 mile rid one way.  Got some cool pictures of the old round house up there.  All in all did about 50 miles over the weekend.

Keep you in my thoughts Roy.  Hoping for a best outcome.

Everyone stay safe!
