This POT sounds a LOT better!  Think I will try to "can" the one I started.  When I saw August wasn't there, OK I'll start one.  But I couldn't remember how many years.  Saved it, and went back to check, then return to edit the topic.  Saw Fife had added, so great try to delete my half one. Not an option.  So change the topic name, and hopefully a moderator will delete it before someone adds a post to it.

Up too early anyway couldn't get back to sleep.  Should've stayed in bed.Sleep

Hot and humid. Got grass mowed yesterday afternoon late. Now off to FIL's for ? Those two ladies have no plan. Take truck and some tools. We'll see.

93 and sunny. Everyone screaming hurricane. NC, maybe Outer Banks. Think the steering air currents will push it out and north. My guess.

Had my first microwaved frozen breakfast burrito. Was fast and no mess. Will do that again.

Don, glad "everything came out" all right.  Dr. Buckeye is the expert on kidney stones.

Hope all have a good one.

Afternoon team CTT!

Sunny and warm today - 91 predicted. Cooler than normal! Cool

Not much going on today. Waffles for breakfast. Walked outside and pool was turning yellow (algae), so brushed it. Tested chemicals and all is norm. Its been cloudy and the water is very warm, good conditions for algae bloom. Pool guy did not show up yesterday so sent them a text that they should backwash the filter and chlorine shock when they do come.

Good evening all,

I was hoping to start posting again on a regular basis.  Was going to see 5 Indy car races this month and was still working from home 4 days a week.  Then they postponed Mid-Ohio (less than a week before the first race) and now my worries about the 500 have exploded again.  Not in a good place.....again.  Maybe if the 500 goes off without a hitch, I will be back.  Otherwise I am no good to any of you and not much better to myself.  I hope everyone else has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Evenin' boys.  We went with Middle Princess up to my folks' place, as she had "big news" to share with them.  As we were talking, there were 2 little fawns playing tag out in their back yard.  So frigin' cute!  Then we drove to Cracker Barrell, where I "enjoyed" my grilled caesar salad...

Hang in there, Mike C.

Hey. Roy. The grandsons were nowhere near your pool.

Good Evening,

Mike, I certainly can understand your frustration,  Hopefully this will all pass sooner than later.  And so many have lost so much there is a lot to tbe thankful for as well.

Fife, Sounds like you had a good day, hope your Mom is doing better.

Chief looks like you need get ready for some rain, hope its not as severe as the talk is.

I just had a quiet day, doing no more than I had to.  Hopefully tomorrow will be easier.

Take care all.

Don and Fife,

Thank you for the comments.  What you say is true.  Too many lives gone and too many more have had severe disruptions.  It is so very hard to put into the words what the 500 means.  I would gladly delete all the other races from my schedule if I can attend THE race.  This constant "go no-go" situation has been a stressor for the last 5 months.

Keep on training,

Morning. Church online. Now hot and humid. Rain and windy tomorrow. Now they say not going to be a hurricane. Biggie TV station wants it to come to us. Should stay east of us. Not good for crops as that is big farming areas.

Off to FIL's to spray GlasStar Plus [Roundup].

Hope all have a safe and healthy week ahead.

Hello there.

Monster post here.

Been reading but not posting lately. Started this Friday night and crashed.

RIP Neil. Belated HAPPY BIRTHDAY to those I missed.

Spanky......I think I'd wait till fall on the attic project.

Roy, Don....all your El Camino talk is giving me the urge to get mine out of the garage.

Went to the dirt drags last Saturday with son, he was on vacation. The grandson hasn't gone yet this year. Son managed 3rd in the trophy dial in class and won the dial in money class. Not bad considering its been almost a year since he ran and 20+ entries in both classes. So so day at the hill climb Sunday

Much hype on China flu here. No more than 25 people indoors. Not look'n good for York.

Tuesday had hi res CT of lung and saw the Doc. Lungs are fine. Changed asthma drug. Mixed reviews so far but seems to be improvement.

The pool pump I was trying to make work died completely. Luckily Mrs Mrs found one on Facebook marketplace for cheap. It's from a lot bigger pool. It will clean ours nicely without running 24/7.

Did I mention the farm house water heater started leaking a week or so ago. It only lasted 25 years. Replacing it was yesterday's project. Other than replacing the 8" blocks under it with cap blocks pretty much an easy swap.

Not wishing anybody ill will but the remnants of a tropical storm or hurricane would be a welcome drought breaker here.

Fife....grandkids are great, glad you enjoyed them. Are you gonna share the "big news" with us?

Prayers for those in need and the end of this pandemic.

I have to concur.  We've been in a drought condition for close to three weeks and hotter than a $2.00 pistol!  What rain we did get was light and didn't do much good, so I wouldn't mind if the storm drops a bunch of water, we can use it!

Evening folks!

93 today but no breeze. Son grilled steaks for the family dinner tonight. Yum!

Fife - the water was quite yellow?

Pool guy showed late yesterday. I had alreadu ordered a new bottom for my filter. Him, his son, and I got the filter diassembled, new bottom installed (inc all fittings), everything washed out, reassembled, in 30 min. Then they did a deep clean on the pool and all is good now. I had patched the leak in the old bottom with flexseal and it held up well. Pool guys had a single mom with two boys in college with the exact same filter that the bottom cracked too far to repair. I gave them mine. The patch looked good when we cleaned it out. hopefully it tides her over as she had just paid fall tuitions.

Banks - break the El Cam out! I finished up the flush on the cooling system today and added 1 gal of antifreeze for the rust inhibitor protection. It is a long way from being cold here! I am setting the El Cam project aside for a few weeks.

Regards, Roy

Morning. Sunny and 89. Tropical storm to hit east of us. We will get rain and some wind. Weather guesser lady screaming the sky is falling. Her superior last night painted different picture. Create excitement so folks will watch.

Sprayed three backpack sprayers on FIL's crush and run. Also around some trees. Lots of poison on his lot. Tired when I got through as humidity was horrible.

Got gas for generator if needed. Flags down and so is hanging baskets. Umbrellas are put up.

Run some errands.

Prayers for our buddy Don B.

Hope all have a great day.

Good Morning

DonB - Glad you made it out in 1 piece.

Fife - NEWS???

Mike C - It'll happen - NHRA is running, at least.  John Force Racing is sitting this year out, however.

Took Mom to the hospital yesterday, FINALLY will be getting a 2nd opinion on her heart.  Her current cardio has been swapping and changing meds for a month now.  We went to our usual hospital where I believe they are more professional and better trained.  I will find out later today.

Saw Jenni for 5 hours afterwards.  Just not enough time for us as of late.  She did finish the high school softball/baseball commission portraits.  3 has 3 more but without the tight deadlines as the other 8.  So she gets a needed break.

Started work on the Magnum, I FINALLY got the battery out of the trunk and it's been on slow charge since Saturday afternoon.  Also took down 1 of the temp garages as it collapsed last week.  I'll use those parts to reinforce the one left and the canopy to build another structure at Jenni's.  I'm thinking steel pipe.  Should be more solid that aluminum tube.

Yup along with the COVID scare comes some stupid named hurricane.  High winds and rain starting at noon tomorrow.  I'll need to shore up the temp garage tonight and anchor it better.  Media is all hyped up doom and gloom......

New hours today and they suck 930 to 630?  Spare me......

Off to work....

Rich, It took a good while to get the right combo of drugs when my heart first tried to crap out. One type worked well on BP but screwed other things up so it was change type, change dosage, change frequency but after awhile they got it right. Even when they do get it right you have to be on your toes and don't let anything slide by, no matter how minor don't ignore.

Ok, preaching is done. Later all !

Dougnotta - He should've looked at what he was prescibing and figured it out from there.  We gave him a list and then after much complaining, fiugred out there were co-indications that were bad......

Flint - Yeah, I don't he's coming here, I just don't want a huge tent sailing into someone else's backyard or worse

Good Evening,

Alls quiet here today, including me.  Did watch the NASCAR race yesterday, it was pretty much a sleeper.  Their schedule sure is screwy, I think they are trying to make up for cancelled races.  This next week-end will be at Michigan, and running a race on Sat AND Sun.??

Haven't seen anything from Kevin in awhile hope he is all right.

Banks, Yeah get the old thing out and put it back on the road.  It will be a good winter project.

Take care all and be safe.

Morning. Sunny and 79 degrees. Seems some little noreasterner came by last night. Left us with about 3.5" of rain. Sure didn't like us so it took off up north. Funny hearing this little reporter lady [not from NC] reporting excitedly about wind blowing at the Outer Banks. It blowing the water out of the sound and on to the road [flooding the road]. Folks driving through it as they are use to that with a north easterner.

Got lots of little limbs to pick up around front. Willow oaks do that. Sometimes without wind.

Buddy at the farms said this AM, "we dodged the bullet". Could not see damage anywhere. I'll have to go down east and see. Didn't lose power.

Wifey packing for the trip to Atlanta.

I will have to mow grass again. Actually could have yesterday but didn't have time. Wait a minute. I just mowed Friday afternoon late.

Enjoy the day.

Mornin' boys.  Damp and 68 along the Alleghany front range.  Tropical storm is basically traveling along I95, spawning some twisters.  Shenandoah Valley will get a lot of moisture, east of here.  Waiting to get the "all clear" from Chief.  Rich is next.  Brent might wind up with mud track for his kids' power wheels.

Can't divulge "big news" as of yet.

Was flipping through youtube, and JD Stucks had a recent video of Detroit 3-railers.  Saw our ol' buddy Charlie (red t-shirt), but I didn't see SirJames.  They run some nice stuff.

Good morning gang!

Sunny, not too hot. A breeze would be nice!

Not much to report.

Anj - I fixed/strengthened a neighbors alum tube flagpole (that had been broken/bent in a storm) using schedule 40 PVC pipe down the center (that fit perfecty). Cut up/trimmed the busted alum and sleeved the PVC with it so it looked the same). After several gales/storms the last 3 years it is still holding up.

I assume Kev cannot log in. I can only log in/post using MS Edge.

To all,

No fans for 500.  Just announced.  There are no words to describe this pain.  Not sure if and when I will be back.  If not, it has been fun.  Enjoyed all of you.

SJ ( Sir James ) has asked to tell you all he is reading every day, but will not come back and post, until they fix it where you can log out, without having to clear your cookies.

I believe Kevin is the same

That is correct. I have been reading but want them to fix it because everytime I have to clear cookies to get out it kills my access to everything else and I have to reset all passwords. Bad enough this site is "not secure" but not being able to log off kills it. I am trying this from EDGE not Firefox to see how it works.

Otherwise all is fine here on The North Bluff.

Wish me luck logging off. Sad

UP-Date.. It logs off from MS EDGE.  Yes

Good Morning,

That was certainly some explosion in Beiruit!

Chris bought me a book for Fathers Day, "Lincoln Conspiracy" which was a good read.  Then got me "The First Conspiracy" about Geo Washington.  Both are non-fiction and very interesting.  So had my head in the 2nd one most of the day.

Today going to the VA and pick-up some shoes, they provided them due to the Diabetes and really work well.  I also get them modified to accomodate my right leg.  So a win, win situation.

Then go by and check the El Camino out, it should be being painted and available in the next couple of days.  So that ought to be fun.

Kevin, glad to see you back, hopefully it will continue to work for you.

SJ, Miss your witt.  I respect your decision, and concern for security.  I don't know maybe dumb or just lucky on my part, I haven't logged out in so long, I couldn't tell you.  But, haven't had any issues.

Mike, Hope your able to find an alternative for the weekend, maybe a headset and be able to watch the race.  GOOD LUCK!

Roy, Like the flagpole fix, that is pretty good!

Fifedog, Looking forward to your big reveal! Got some ideas.

Time to get busy, breakfast on its way.

Have a good-one!

85 and sunny. Not as hot today but humid [all this water has to evaporate]. Think storm took hot air to the North.

Do NOT have to take chemo tablets on Saturday nights anymore.   Only real reaction is feel like crap on Sundays. No alcohol as I reacted badly with to it. Lady Dr. and hubby [he is a Dr. too] going back to Berkley where they moved her from. Hubby got super big offer. He is a cardiologist. Now if I can get the back thing fixed without surgery. Injections this afternoon.

Go pick tomatoes for the lady that checks me in at back Dr.'s. She insists on her [not the other lady] checking me in and out. Bribe them with tomatoes.

Chewed butt in Human Services Live Well Wake leadership team meeting. Ignoring my Hispanic community.

So now I have started to leave it on all the time, just close the lid. Is that bad?

I wouldn't.  If you're on all the time you're "live," for lack of a better term, all the time and on-line all the time.  When I'm not using my lap-top for several hours or overnight I turn it off.  Now while there's nothing on my lap-top that a hacker might be interested in, and I mean nothing, I figure why take chances?  There's those little "pajama-wearing gnomes living in their mother's basements" that'll cause trouble just because they can.

By the way, I don't bother to log-off the Kalmbach sites myself.  I've never had an issue.

Flintlock,

First time for everything. I would rather not push it just because of those "pajama-wearing gnomes living in their mother's basements"   Smile, Wink & Grin

Dennis, As for turning off the tablet I would at least do it now and then so it can up-date and install securty up-dates. I know that when I got this new smart phone the tell you to shut it down now and then so up-dates can be done. I know people who never turn of their devices but from what I have been told it is best you do now and then at least.

We are having May weather in Aug??? I will take it, back to the 90 next week.

Mike, don't let it get you down, just think of all the money you will save. Yes
