Cloudy but 35 degrees. Snow is gone. Love it this way. The best area train show is no more. The head guy has retired and a comic book show is replacing it as the school's annual fund raiser. The local shows are disappearing along with the hobby shops. PS along with less magazine pages.

Morning folks!
Heavy fog here...60's and sun later today!
Rats - did not realize the Daytona 24 was on this past weekend...
Regards, Roy
Listen... Hear that...? That is the sound of a happy Wifey in her kitchen. She's wiping down her new refrigerator and dishwasher, that Lowe's just delivered. I used the Lowe's gift cards, that my children gave me for Christmas, to purchase them. However, I've been remanded to the basement for attempting to touch them, and asking too many questions...
Meanwhile, I hear Julie-frig'n-Andrews upstairs humming, "Getting to know you..."
52 and sunny. Out to do outside chores with Wifey. Showers later today.

Good Afternoon from overcast 41°F Southern Ohio,
Sorry for being away from the Pot. My super busy schedule ramped up since the beginning of the year, well actually since Thanksgiving.
I’m going back to swing shift days/nights and weekends as part of the new / old job. Starting nights this afternoon so after a morning of working on cars going to wind down for a nap before work.
My bride’s mom is now in an assisted care home and that has taken a huge load physically and mentally off of her.
I got another Marx set off Ebay, nice set just needed a little TLC, solder and a new lightbulb and it is running very nice.
Fife - Happy Wife, happy life!
May God bless you and your families
Jim
Here you go!

Good evening all,
Very quiet day at work. Wife and Lucas made it to Ohio ok. Got March CTT. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Ahhhh, obviously a very slow day today!
Still working on some boxes of trains for repairs. I have completed one box. Almost through the second. Most of these will go back to the shop and back into display inventory. Some of these have been sitting around for up to 8+ years. Most were too time consuming at the time to repair and there was a stock of trains for the display. When done I will have two less large boxes of trains out of the house.
A buddy asked for some help today. He owns a scale model RR models business and needed some help improving a cooling system for his hydraulic plastics injection molding presses. He makes O and HO windows, etc., along with truck assemblies, etc., etc. Some of his stuff is former Grandt line. Amazing how quickly the hydraulic fluid gets hot while running the injection machine. So we may have figured out how to use the cooling system from an old water fountain to run the heat exchanger cooling water through. Interesting what (trouble) one can get into...
Talkin about trouble - KEV -
Good day at work. Church had a special showing of Lilies of the Field. Good movie. Weather still cold. Lucas and my wife had a good visit with his daughter today. I hope everyone has a good day.
47 and sunny. Chance of showers tonight. Goofing off and trying not to cough. Seems the whole county is sick. I've had it light compared to most.
Have a good day.
Evening folks!
A long gloomy cloudy day in the 40's. Same for tomorrow. Supposed to get back to 60's for the weekend.
If it is nice Sat a buddy of mine and I are gonna put new brake pads on the Tahoe.
I continued repairing trains today. Fixed two PE Bershires. One PE had the eccentric come loose and really decimated the valve gear, valve gear hanger, cross head, cross head guide, bent the main rod screw, and slightly bent the main rod On the engineers side. Got it all apart and was able to straighten all the parts and get her running smoothly again. Started on another Pennsy Bershire Jr, but the electronic eunit was toast. Replaced it with a bridge rectifier (these trains only run forward anyway) only to find that the can motor is toast. Ran fine on the bench with no load, but once on the track it cannot move without a push. Looks like a bad armature winding. So pulled it and started rummaging around in my parts bins. No luck. Looking for replacement motors on Amazon if I can get the worm gear off the old motor.
Did another bridge rectifier on a 4-4-2 loco with a fried electronic eunit and fixed some jammed gears on another 4-4-2. So almost done with the repairs of all the locos.
Dennis - too bad about the pups License issue. At least you got it taken care of!
Chief - take care of yourself! Get well!
Good day at work. Off next two days. Lucas and wife made it home ok. They had nice visit with granddaughter. Weather still cold. I hope everyone has a good day.
Good Morning- I need a PB&J with Hashbrowns covered with butter and maple syrup and Bloody Mary to wash it down.
Good Morning, my most excellent friends!!Meeting last night to straighten up the fire dept files and a water rescue call in the middle of - some guy jumped into the lake to rescue his dogLuckily, the cops got him and the dog out before hypothermia set in. EMS took over from there.30s today and not much more than that, supposed to hit 60 on Tuesday. Yeah, wee'll see. Sunny right now.Team meeting at 10, have a viewing to go to for a fellow firefighters wife, she passed suddenly. Good dude, that just sucks, she was fairly young too.....Hope to make some more progress on the attic and start on the spring time portion of the layout. Will probably run to Hobby Lobby and get some 1/8th inch balsa orsomething like that to make sidewalks and curbage for the Christmas Village and get the streets laid out as well. I'm thinking tar paper or something similar with white pin stripping for the roads and parking. Some house work at Mom's house is on tap during the weekend, shouldn't be too labor intensive.Kev - That is pretty cool!!
Fife - As long as Momma is happy....
Roy - Nice work - I'm waiting for the day I have enough time to do my "projects"
Chief - Stay well....
Dennis - yeah - I have noticed that slot car prices have jumped through the roof....Still, I'm not selling off my Aurora Thunder Jets just yet - if at all. During the attic clean up, I found ALL my Aurora track.....and it should be ready to run if I can get a place to set it up....
Off to work again, hopefully it will be a smooth morning.....

Coughing spells off and on. Dry tickle. Called and got Dr.'s apt. Surprised. He was not busy. Guess everyone went last week and earlier this week.
47 and sunny.
Later
Morning,
Day 8 of gray and hovering right at freezing. They say we will have 2 more just the same. Nothing much going on.
Dennis, WOW had to buy dog license???? Guess they tax everything in CA. They make you get a tag in by the city but out here not much. They even told me that now you only have to get them shots every 7 years. Used to be every year?
Roy, I have run out of train projects for now.
11 Years ago today was the last time I walked out of Caterpillar. So I have had plenty of time to get those projects done. Sure better than so many guys that worked till they died! When I hired in back in 1973 the average time retired was 17 months till death.
A grim, cold, cloudy day. 40's. Weekend is 'posed to be nice! Hope so. Got brake pads coming for the Tahoe and we have beers and repairs planned! Well, maybe repairs first!
Repaired two Lionel M7 MTA power cars today. Replaced motors, rewired, and fixed the pickup rollers. Fixed rollers and lighting on a trailer car. These units were beat from continuous display running and not good for that anymore. Gears are near done, so will be fun for short runs. Because the gears are sketchy on these sets, never buy one used.
Anj - really appreciated your greeting this morning!
Chief - get better!
DivebarD - you have interesting mornings!
Kev - I am cleaning out years of train flotsam and jetsam....getting near the end of the repair marathon!
Hello there,
Divebardave....interesting breakfast. What's on the lunch menu???
Tractor is almost done. Couple of hours tomorrow should finish it. Son called in reinforcement to manhandle the wheels back on. They each have 180 lb of wheel weights and 425lb of calcium.
Spent some time this week on the bathroom renovation I started last February. Haven't touched it since. Got the plumbing to the tub and radiator cut and capped. Need to carry out the debris and the tub is next. Then start going the other way. Meanwhile Mrs has been sortn and chuckn through the file cabinets.
Best get to sleep
Prayers for those in need.

Mixed bag today. Visit to social security answered some questions, may have raised others. Got a lot of other stuff done. Watched some more Hill Street Blues. Heard the sad news about John Andretti. Bummed about that. Good man. RIP. I hope everyone has a good day.
Mornin' boys. Cloudy and 31 in the Potomac Highlands. Wifey comes home today. Can't wait until she turns on the great room lights. New LED floods are in, and it updates the kitchen area, along with her new "toys". Hope to stop by Michael's and get some spring floral picks, for trees. I need a lot of light green, pink, and white.
Had dinner at City Lights restaurant, which is a block from the station. Gourmet burger, fries, and a for $12. Yeah buddy. Spoke with the owner, who asked if we were doing Polar Express again this year. His business was "gang-busters" during our 34 trips. That's what we love to hear.
Cloudy and 34. But No Snow.

Tomorrow begins a new month. I see we have an extra day of winter this year.

Have a good one.
Good morning,
Dennis, Yes some of the machine complexes were huge. Just the machine building was over a million sq ft with 40' inside height. There were two buildings with more than a million sq ft and one very close at Aurora on 350 acres of property. Here it is,
