Very dark @ 45 degrees. The guessers are forecasting gloom and doom between now and Sunday morning. Up to 3 inches of rain for us, freezing rain north and snow beyond that line. Trains? not much here, I did run a few. The guys are talking York plans but I'm not going.

Good evening all,
Quiet day at work. Got one issue resolved. Watch Prime Time Jeopardy again. Weather warmer. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Evening all!
Good day today for the Mrs. The pain management is working well.
Kev - that looks good!
Regards, Roy
Thanks guys, Well here is what I did. I have a box of stir sticks I got years ago to build othe stuff for the layout. I like them because they are 7.5" long and thinner than popsickle sticks. Cut the ends to square them then broke them up, put them in a old cast iron skillet and lit them up 8 or 9 times with my torch in the shed to burn them. Then I placed some small rocks, some of my home made ballast, then put the burnt sticks around on top. I think it will work.

Fife and Kev - yeah, fire scenes are definitly messy......like the mini van fire I was at on Tuesday....lol, lots of, um, "burnt offerings..." you may want to have pools of water nearby as well as some debris like the burned trusses (popsickle sticks burned) and cut up some small pieces of shingle. Stuff like that....
From the notes I got from the Past President of the association, I ran the meeting like a champ, last night...almost looked like I knew what I was doing....lol.Was up early this morning for Doc appointment then ran to work. Of course the sky was falling, kinda glad I went in, was going to work from home, but thought better of it.Tonight is regular meeting night, battle of the bylaws will start if the president of the dept has a big set of.....you know.....Mom is doing well, so far, she is running a funeral today and I will be back home at 6 to change and do the meeting by 7. Can't stop Mom, there is no doubt.Jenni and I are staying in the house, just so Mom knows we are there, we are NOT babysitting her, just making sure there are bodies in the house to keep her company.Let me see what other trouble I can find....

fifedog Actually, research the arson fire at the Knox, Kane, and Kinzua from 2008. Lot's of good ideas there.

Thanks Fife, a lot of good ideas there. Yeah that building has lit red ambers but they look stupid with plush green trees next to it. So I think I will place some gravel and other burnt trash around it as if time has passed since the fire.

KRM - That's easy. More debris and clutter from the fire scene. Real fire scenes aren't that neat. Unless that roof fell into the structure, it would have been pulled to the side and hosed off, as the FD looks for hot spots. Rich could probably coach you up on more details.
Sunny 42 but windy. Wind chill is cold.
Good photo KEV.
Anyone into hunting and guns, go to Dick's Sporting Goods. Per the folks at one Dick's here, getting out of the hunting gear and guns. 15% off and now another 25% off. Had big gift card. Was going to buy another gun. None I really wanted. Spent it on other items. Have strong dislike for Dick's.
Have a great day.

Morning,
A rain filled day is what we will have on the North Bluff.
Not a lot else going on yesterday other than letting wifey drive herself to PT so I could stay home and work on the train layout some. I had to place a new building on it I got for Christmas. Still need to figure away to transition away the base edge but that will come. Any ideas?? Here it is.
Mornin' boys. 19 degrees outside; pellet stove on inside. Youngest Princess has a doctor visit later on.
She finished painting my canal yesterday, while I tried to resurrect a Marx 74 semaphore. I can get it going, but it overheats (at 11 volts), and I can smell the plastic melting. I have another Marx semaphore, and it is the older version with the round, metal base. It works like a champ. Need to find some more of the semaphores with the metal base, me thinks. Before I watched the Jeopardy champs, brushed a layer of gloss medium over the newly painted waterways.
A quiet day. Cooler weather. Finished puzzle tonight. Watched Jeopardy Prime Time again. Good show. I hope everyone has a good day.
Morning/afternoon folks!
The MS is definitely getting out today. Just waiting on the surgeon to get out of a surgery to sign final papers and prescriptions. Still 2 weeks of recovery but we will be much more comfortable at the house.
Kev - ouch! Glad you are ok!
KRM sir james I Kev good thing you got out of the hospital erect, some go for minor surgery and never return. Hope your feeling better. S.J. So true SJ, Now I know why they were asking for copies of our Power of Attorney when she went in for the hip replacement and I went into the hospital. So this morning I went to the safe box at the bank and made copies so we will have them here at the house if needed. Cold start today 18 and won't hit 30. Then rain or snow through the weekend. Not a lot else going on today other than letting wifey drive herself to PT so I can stay home. Prayers for those in need and our brave men and women being sent into harms way yet again over oil.

That's why they call it "practicing medicine". Especially with cancer, it's a crap shoot as to what will or won't work and to what degree.

Cloudy as usual. 20s for the day. Hennings, on FB took some video of the snow in Va. as they traveled along the interstate. Looks like part of Pa. got some too. Kev good thing you got out of the hospital erect, some go for minor surgery and never return. Hope your feeling better.
Frost!!! Gone fast as very warm. Fifey, no snow here.
Errands today.
Have a good one.
Mornin' boys. 32 and snowing again, along the Patterson Creek cut-off. We received 4 inches over 6 jours yesterday. The girls and I shovelled the driveway, walks, and deck clear. They made 2 small snowmen. Wifey makes quite the snow bunny when she goes outside. She's fun to watch.
Happy to report that my Cumberland town is all lit up. It took several hours, and a half dozen disc cuts, to wind the light strings under 3 levels of real estate. I'm very satisfied with the results. The yellow tinted C7 lights look great, and no fear of Moth Man being lured to town.
Long awful day. Spent more time in bathroom than desk at work. Did some more checking on other things. Watched the Jeopardy prime time show. Still anybody's contest. Weather supposed to chill a bit. I hope everyone has a good day.
Hey, good afternoon....Back at it. I cruised through the forum, not posting. The last of the family leaves today, so Mom will not have the groups that have been running in and out of the house for the better part of 2 months. Mom said it best, sometimes it's just too quiet. Thanks again for the thoughts and prayers for my Dad and the family. Mom says this will be an adjustment.Obviously not much on the train side of things.
Kev - Glad you are betterRoy - Very glad that the Mrs. is recooping ----I'll check back when I can. Just trying to get through the 300 emails and reviews I need to check over and read. Whoo boy....it's gonna be a long 4 days.....lol!!
Wow Kevin! I'm glad you are heading the right way in your recovery. I do not see sword swalling as a future career choice for you.
And Kevin, congratulations on fixing the LC plus. I followed you posts with GR John and it makes so much sense. There used to be a gentleman name Boxcar Bill who sold and installed ERR products. He told me the first thing you need to do with electronics is to use a magnify glass and look for broken solder, pieces, etc. He found a broken connection on one of my ERR boards. Gave me a new board.
Just had my pacemaker check up. Doing good. No problems. I don't take as much sleep as previous.

As for my sick LionChief plus,,
Well I got to it today, Swapped out the motor/sensor assembly and it is FIXED. So now we know!
Told Wifey this AM when I saw radar on TV, Fifey getting snow.
50's and rain suppose to start around noon. Gone by sunset.
Nothing on agenda.
Later.
Good morning guys!
Feeling much better today and filling up my empty guts.
I have been prepping the shed for a door opener I did not get for Christmas from the kids for the Gator side over the last month. Elect, mounting brackets etc. Well yesterday while Sandra was in PT I went and got the opener at Menards with the 11% off. So my project yesterday afternoon was install it. Boy does that make life better.
Todays plan is work on that GP20 # 2050.
Yowzers, KRM! I'm leaving my tonsils in now. Glad you're ok. Same goes for Roy's Mrs. And Buckeye. And DJSpanky. And Dougnotta. And anyone else on the mend.
Waiting for the impending Snohizo. Area schools closed in advance. Gonna hook some lights up in my train room today. I'm trying yellow tinted C7 bulbs in my structures, to give more of a soft, gas lamp glow, instead of the harsh, bright white ones. Also need to work on a Marx 74 semaphore.
Kevin and Roy glad all is on the mend now. Prayers for you Kevin and Roy's wife

Sounds like some people have had way too much excitement. Good news from Kevin and Roy. Quiet, productive day at work. Weather above freezing. Another crown the end of the month. I hope everyone has a good day.
Great news Roy!!! I hear you Roy on that stress thing. The month leading up to Sandra's hip replacement on 12-4 was very hard on us both. There was so much to do and worry.
Good deal Dennis. I don't need a real ID, we have passports.
Got the new motor for the 2050 GP20 but no time yet to hook it up to see if it fixes the darn thing.
More about what happened Friday:
Well caught up here so, for those who want to know. To make it short as I can the stupid doctor punctured my esophagus. He used a solid flexible expander (kind of a flexible rod with a tapered end) to open my throat instead of the balloon because my throat was restricted all the way down and had a worse restriction at the bottom by the gut. When he went to remove it it snagged the tight area and produced the tear or pin hole. So I guess when I heal up I should be better. On soft food for a few days to make sure it heals up. I went without water or solid food for 48 hours in the hospital and they said try not to swallow. WTH. So I laid in bed for two days with just an IV while my body ate it's self till I finally got clear liquid Saterday night then soft food Sunday morning. I went about 60 hours without food or water because I had to fast for the thing in the first place.
I was lucky, it only went through the first and maybe second layers of the ones you have in your esophagus and was just a small tear. If it had gone through all of them it would have entered my lung and I would of had to go to Chicago for a major operation so I dodged the bullet I guess? At first he told Sandra I would be going to Northwestern University and boy oh boy did she freak out. Then he came in and told me that I had to get two CT scans to check for leakage about four blocks away at Morris hospital. One without the fluid and the secone one with the fluid, and when they did that it was leaking but after talking to the team at Northwestern University they decided to leave me at Morris and see it it could seal up overnight. Guess it did?
Well that is the long and short of it. Thanks for the good thoughts and prayers.
Good to hear Roy. Prayers for a complete and easy recovery.

Hey all!
Well the wife made it through the surgery this morning ok. Doc said it went as planned. With luck she might get to go home Wed. We'll see. Just glad we are on the other side of it. That stress is now in the past.
