Mornin' boys. Sunny & 45 along the Patterson Creek cut-off. Reached 66 yesterday! Maybe take a ride today.
Went to the Altoona show yesterday (as I didn't have tix to Oak Ridge Boys), and tooh along our engineer and brakeman. Good event, and I picked up 2 more Marx 74 Signals (one NIB), 2 "shorty" Industrial Rail hoppers, a baggie full of wood ties for my AF track, and a custom painted AF flatcar, done in PRR with wood pole loads. Only spent $66.
Been really busy in the train room, finishing the C&O Canal area, and scratch building the C&P coal warf (one plank at-a-time). I had to pre-emptively install one of the Marx semaphores, and it looks and works great.
Hello there,
A whirlwind weekend.
Started Friday evening with frying fish, shrimp and clams for 701 people. A strong start to the season.
Saturday morning to Lancaster. Got there in time for a couple of outlets, late lunch at a combo KFC/Long John Silvers and Mass before seeing the OAK RIDGE BOYS. The youngest is early 70s and they did a great 2 hour show with no breaks.
Late dinner at Red Robin afterwards and a glass of wine before crashing. After a Cracker Barrel breakfast a trip to the Strasburg Train Store where I got a 60's Norge Gas Refridgerator box car by Varney and 14 issues of HO Model Trains circa 52 and 53. I enjoy reading those old Magazines
Then a couple more outlets before heading west on I283. Late luch at a Deli in Thompson Town Pa, home just before the later sunset. A homemade pitza before crashing hard again.
Fife...... how was the show??
Best get toit
Prayers for those in need.

Evening folks!
Had some good weather today. Went on a nice hike with my son and some friends.
Agree, everything after the iPhone 7 other than the camera is minor and not worth it, but Apple after experiencing the poor iphoneX sales have kept the prices of the 7's and 8's high to prevent a rush by the public to abandon the X. I have a 7 I inherited and it is no better than my 5s. Apple has abandoned software updates for the 5 and soon the 5s will follow. The phones still continue to work but any new security flaws or software issues will not be fixed.
MikeC - more power!!!!

Good evening all,
Listened to Indycar race. Foyt team did as expected. Newgarden won. Last year with new chassis and aero package there were lots of contenders and winners. This year Penske, Ganassi, Penske, Ganassi. Go figure. Brought down the KW to use on the standard gauge. That pesky reverse unit on the 8E suddenly got solved with 125 watts blasting thru it. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Phish....Your wife and her sister are in the driver's seat. They can do just about anything they want unless the other siblings file an injunction and a court agrees. Not likely! The main thing is to take good care of the mother and not worry about sibling's feelings. Don't ask for help from the siblings. It is tough, but the bottom line is do what is best for mom.
Take care, be safe and have a good week.

Finally got to 13.1 today. Did it in 3:35 for a 3.65 MPH average and a 16:25 pace. Now to work on race day setup! Went to Mass and watched 3 Hill Street Blues. Windy and wet here. Foyt team did not have much luck in qualifying. I hope everyone has a good day.
Good Evening from wet 51°F Southern Ohio,
Just got home from Vigil Mass and my bride had Lasagna made for supper. The kids were out with friends so supper was quiet.
I got the AF 2 rail on the layout and powered up. In a few places the inner and out loop were too close together so I shorted one side by half a track section and the other place is just a matter of adjustments. I’ll run the two rail with the three rail to ensure all is good and I’ll switch from temporary power leads to permanent feeds. The 21160 is running good but a 283 and a 290 are going to need a little work from sitting for a few years.
Bride is having a colonoscopy Monday so I’m taking off from work. After we’re home while she is napping I hope to work on wiring.
Chief – there is a lot of standing water in our woods too, with this extra rain it is going to get real soggy.
Spanky – I remember one year as a kid we had Christmas decorations up and it was almost Easter.
Buckeye – I can only imagine. My bride is already the medical power of attorney and she and her one sister who is helping are the financial power of attorney. The problem is the other 5 siblings complain and question every descision, but refuse to help with anything.
Kev – NEAT SIGN!!!!!
May God bless you and your families
Jim
Yesterday found us in wet woods. Lots of water down east. Put some corn in feeders and mineral blocks out.
Today, visitation and funeral. Lunch with Wifey.
49 adn cloudy. Maybe Train Box and some TV.
Crazy time change. Leave it like it is.
Later.

Big Birthday Party this afternoon at the Bounce House. NO WAY, NO HOW!
Spent $2.10 for two old people tickets on the NJ Transit this morning and took the grandsons for a train ride for 20 minutes. They love doing this with Mrs. Buckeye and me. Then breakfast at Panera.
I think a Basket Ball game will prevent me from getting to the Edison train show tomorrow, but I am hoping to visit the trains stores on Mon, Tues and Wed before leaving NJ.
Before anyone stops to at my house to go fishing this summer, make sure I'm home because it is already getting real busy.
Phish....It's time to talk to an elder attorney such that your wife can make the decisions. Oh, the stories I can tell.
Good Morning,
Rain on the way today and the kids too.
The used In-Sink-EratorI installed in 2011 took a crap again so I went ahead and got a new direct replacement for it at Menards with the 11% off. I found the original paper work and went on line to see what they made that was the same sizes and found two. They are now called Evergrind or Badger but are made by the same people Emerson, so it should be an easy swap. The old one was from 1992 and I got it for free so what can I say?
So of course I told Sandra it was her birthday gift,,,
Yes Don I do have another one on the wall in the shed. Got that one back in the 80s. This new one will be in the train room in the basement.
I guess we have all had a lot of friends pass over the years. Makes you wonder why it works the way it does??
Well better get ready for the grand-kids.

Good Evening,
Had a great day, was with Kay most of the day. We went to VA, I had a Echocardiogram done, then to her Mom's for some wound dressing change on her leg. Then to check in on her Dad, (he had lost his remote, but ended up he was setting on it), issue resolved. Then dinner with Chris. Very enjoyable. Tomorrow going to see a play, then one day next week little trip to Carlsbad to visit a winery, and drive through the Poppy fields. All to celebrate her birthday.
I've been researching FIOS vs Spectrum, going to end up staying with FIOS, savings doesn't offset the changes required and would loose a couple of channels and other inconviences.
Mike C., glad tests went well for your wife.
Roy, Sorry to hear about your finger, sounds like a well deserved and relaxing trip to TN, in the works. You deserve it.
Kev, Birthday wishes to your wife! Really good job on sign looks great. Looks like you have another one in the background. Tough to loose all the friends due to MC crashes. There is 2 or 3 a month here on the morning news that have bought it due to the traffic. Its really risky out here for them. And it seems to me even though it legal to split traffic it is just asking for trouble.
Not much going on here this weekend other than the play, may go to a train meet on Sunday. Need to get the taxes done too.
Take care all, and be safe!
Don
Wife's checkup went well. Weather warmer. Will be watching Blue Bloods. Foyt team starting this season like last one ended....back of the pack....again. Just waiting for May. I hope everyone has a good day.
79 today! (sorry guys)
Possible severe storms tonight, an issue when we get this yo-yo weather.
Dennis - you have had an interesting life! Good for you!
Kev - nice sign! Will look good on the wall!
I never got into motorcycles. I think one would just fall on me out of spite if I walk too close. Drag racing, that was my thing at the time!
Thanks Banks, yeah sad.
On a lifghter note: My neighbor Brain brought me this cool sign today from where he works. It was bent and dirty and taken apart so I straightened it out, cleaned it up and will hang it in the train room another day.
Hello there, waiting for Mrs to get out of work then off to fry fish.
First thing in the AM Mrs, a niece and I are heading east to Lancaster to see the Oak Ridge Boys
Kev.....you've had some nice rides. I wished for a Hodaka Ace 90 while riding my Honda Mini Trail about 70 or 71. Sad about your friends. One of my best buds was done in by a car on his side of the road on a sharp curve.
Gotta go.
Prayers for those in need
Good morning,
Sun going to 38 today. First time above 32 in quite awhile.
My dad had 3 brothers all bike riders and grampa had an Indian sales shop. However dad said after eating about 20 feet of gravel road he quit riding.
Got the car washed yesterday and gassed @ $2.49 gal. up ten cents from last week,

Survived the deep freeze. and it made it to 74 today! Finally! But with the changes upward in temps, here comes the traditional Spring violent weather.
Still very busy and have kept up, but nothing to say and too tired if I did.
Getting ready for spring break trip next week with son. Looking forward to it.
Prayers for the mom-in-law, Stur-fish. Quiet day at work. Weather better for walk. Went to see latest "How to Train Your Dragon". Unless you are a big fan of the series, I cannot recommend it. Disney was promoting live action Dumbo and that looks to be terrrible. Ugh. Taking tomorrow off to take wife to eye specialist for routine checkup. I hope everyone has a good day.
Hi guys still cold but will be warming starting tonight.
Went to Farm & Fleet and got deer corn for the last time and some cat flea stuff then headed to Walmart for beer.
When I got home, after lunch I pulled left rear door panel off the Ranger and soaked latch with WD-40 and worked it till it freed up. Works good now. It was rusted in the open position and would not lock the bottom of the door. The front door latches to the rear door and when I would go around a right hand curve the PITA door ajar light and buzzer would come on. I was going to get a new latch but got to thinking about how everything has rust issues with that truck so I thought I would look at it first. Glad I did the latch cost $70.00+
Beer time!
Good Afternoon from overcast 35°F Southern Ohio,
I took off work early to assist at Mass and distribute ashes. It felt strange to drive home during daylight hours. It was a busy evening but I did get to assemble a few more sections of the AF inner loop that has the two RH switches and a rerailer. I may get to power the inner loop up this weekend. Probably use a 21160 loco to test the loop. It is a simple reliable engine with no reverse unit.
My bride’s mom is back in the hospital and upon release will need 24-7 care. The other siblings refuse to consider assisted living alternatives but at the same time will not help with the care of their mom in her home, my bride is trying to do it all. Sounds familiar?
Banks - last few wax rings I’ve put in were waxless with a sleeve made by Fluidmaster. They work good even when the bowl is not lowered perfectly and stay centered on the toilet base.
Don - Our daughter who we visit in LA has had some major water black mold issues from a leaking roof and the amount of rain you’ve had on the left coast.
Quick check in
28 and no wind just now coming home from fish fry prep. Feels like a heat wave.
Found the basement toilet leaking around the wax ring. Replace it and a primary doc appointment this PM will be my day.
Best get toit.
Morning. For all the Yanks. 49 and sunny. Warming fast. No wind.
Edgecombe tomorrow.
Have a good one.
Stuff blew up on an upgrade today. No telling when we will get if fixed. Sunny but cold. Watched an episode of "Have Steam Engine Will Travel" tonight. Too much funny stuff, not enough engine talk. I hope everyone has a good day.
Good Afternoon,
ANOTHER rainy day! And more predicted for the next week, 5 out of 7 days. I don't recall it raining so much, ever. I been draining the pool every 3 or 4 days. The biggest benefactor of all this is the body shops. And know one saying anything about the drought! The mountain resorts are saying they will be skiing through July 4th, imagine! They are reporting between 25 and 30 feet of snow. I have a strong feeling the regional geology may be changing a lot!!
Helped Kay take her dad to the VA this morning, then to a Dr's appt. Couldn't believe the VA! There was no parking had to park on the opposite side of the hospital campus after I dropped them off. By the time I walked back to where they were, the appointment was finished. So I walked back to get the car, in the rain! Had a good 2 mile walk. Then to the Dr., almost as bad there but not quite. Then took him back to his residence, and she brought me home, then gone to check on her Mom. I don't know how she does it, day in & day out.
Regarding the vehicle license, it cost us $140 on the El Camino, and $160 on the Explorer. El Camino has to have commercial plates 'cause its a truck. Then SMOG test every 2 years run $70, IF nothing is wrong. Explorer SMOG is $40.
Terrible situation going on here, Santa Anita race track (horse), has had 19 animals put down since Jan., so they closed the track to inspect the track and find out why. It was closed for 2 weeks and determined safe. It just reopened, and had to put down 2 more horses. So now it is closed indefinitely to try to resolve. Believe me PITA has been all over this! I understand how frail a horses leg is, but you would think that over a 100 years someone would have come up with a means of sling or something that would permit healing and not just have to destroy the animal. Really sad!
Been spending time in train room cleaning track, and running old conventional engines. Its really fun watching them labor along. Surprisingly enough not a lot of jerking or squeaking, so oiled & greased and back on the shelf.
Take care all, and stay healthy!
Good afternoon,
I went and got my teeth cleaned, and like always they do their best to find something to make you pay more. He wants to replace a old filling that is not causing me any problems. I said maybe in a few months if you find out what it is going to cost me first. Then a trip to Menards for some LED lights and a Moen 1225 faucet cartage then picked up some hot dogs from Bozo's for lunch. Installed the cartage now I am going to swap out the basement CFLs with the new LEDs.
13 degrees when I got up and in the 20s now, not a lot else.
I see why you did not want to tell us RT.
fifedog Banks - I plan on being at the Altoona show Sunday. Not sure what time. anjdevil - Lots of good suggestions, but definitely get something up.

Morning all. 37* going to 51*.
Before I got disability (VA) I was paying like $83 a year for the truck Plates. My license runs like $20 fo 5 years. I now don't pay for my tags.
Not much going on here today.

Da Chief is sitting in a heat wave. We have sun and 12 degrees.
We had our punch-key yesterday but only 1. It's a big deal here as one of the Detroit suburbs has a polish heritage.
