Aloha. Beauty of a day downtown. Prayers for your daughter, Banks! After so many years in youth sports, you'd think I wouldn't be surprised by the terrible or immature behavior of parents / fans...Ack! DonB, you are scaring me with all your Calif. critters - spiders and giant lizards!
RobC, every year we have what seem to be the same birds building nests in the eaves above the front door. Fortunately, we don't use it too much to disturb the youngsters.

Banks - Best wishes for your girl.
cheapclassics - PSP is your problem now... Performance in SHR #10 car has vastly improved since her departure.
Hello there,
Daughter is having a biopsy of something "questionable" in her br÷=st today. A prayer please.
Grandson's team won 3 to 2 the other night in 1 extra inning. Witnessed a display of unsportsmanlike conduct from the opposing fans. Our pitcher and catcher were both going for a high pop ball as a nearby fan yelled several times "I GOT IT".The pitcher caught the ball as the umpire threatened the fans.
Today is predicted to be the 1st in 10 days without rain. Lots of grass to cut.
No bucket work yesterday due to heavy rain. Don't like to do a lot of welding inside the garage.
Time for mass.
Prayers for those in need.

Good evening all,
Another semi-busy day at work. Got a lot of "to do" things done at home tonight. Weather kind of muggy. Got a monthly sports magazine in the local paper. Month of May, right. Should be something in there about Indy Car, right. All they was Princess Sparkle Pony. Triple ugh. She can't be gone soon enough. Ugh Ugh Ugh. She made a comment about being "relevant" again. Maybe if she had stayed with Indy car, she might have won a few more races, maybe a championship. Go TEAM AJ! I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Evening all,
A wet day here. I was hoping to get some yard work done, but maybe tomorrow...
We have a cardinal nest outside our living room window that has been keeping us amused for a week or so. They're chirpping for some food as I type. Never been much of a bird watcher, but it's been neat to follow their progress.
Our whole subdivision is getting retrofitted with fiber optic cable. It looks like the front lawn is getting a beating!! I'm sure I'll have some work to do after.
Rich - One of my best friends had a Magnum for years. That thing hauled! Certainly wasn't Grandma's station wagon!!
Have a good one and prayers.
Rob
Fife -
Raining here in the shadow of the city of Philly....
Not much on the agenda just trying to get work done.
Lost at softball last night, played 3rd looked pretty good, an infield hit and a walk, still lost.

Good Morning,
Kev, you need one of the lizards I have stalking our place. I did have a confrontaton with the big one a couple of days ago, but it escaped into the neighbors trees. Then I discovered a smaller one, about 3 foot, and it has just been setting up at the top of another tree for 3 days.
Been on critter control most of yesterday, persuading some Doves from making a nest in the front door archway, killing a couple of black widow spiders. And of course lizard patrol. Did take time for some toilet repair as well.
Hope the officer survived the incident with the four wheeler.
Not much else going on, tweaking stuff on the layout. Did reallize if I would change out one switch it would enable 3 more engines running through a reversing loop. So ordered a switch from Ross yesterday. (Replacing a curved 72/31 switch with a 11 deg switch).
Hope everyone has a great day.
Don
Gray and wet,
Like Doug, yesterday was a long needed rain for us. 1.1" in a slow all morning drop. Things are wild and green today.
Fife, yes, you just never know.
Went outside to find the front yard is under attack!!

Aloha. Yesterday was a day of rain. I have a covered light well in the basement that still leaks - I thought it was runoff from the gutters but that's not it. I just replace the towel in the window sill. Today is just grey and foggy. Should warm up this afternoon and rest of the week. Jim, I didn't pick up the real nice Marx gooseneck street lamps - these were just red with the light cover also red. But you can't beat the price. Fife, a day of peace and reflection after that news sounds good...
Mornin' boys. Well, yesterday started off good enough. Did get the lawn mowed. Hung out with Ms. Kelly. Then I got a call from my folks asking if I was aware of Officer killed in Baltimore County. Turned out she was run over by 4 subjects in a jeep, who apparently were attempting to break into a house. This was in the first district that I worked, and near where the former Fifedom is.
That was sad news enough...
Then got the word that our former train chef was found dead in his house (unknown cause) around 5. Steve was the first guy that I made friends with out here. Loved to cook, loved his son, he will be missed.
No condolences needed, just a day of peace.
Evening all!
Been busy as usual. The missus has wanted me to trplace the storm door so finnaly found one we liked at Lowes. Install went well as the instructions were actually well written/detailed. The door is a Larson, all glass. Glass can be changed for a screen but we will never use that.
Anj - Over 20 years ago had to travel through Port Jarvis a lot for a project with the old MCI long distance telco. The place was a serious speed trap. Something silly loke an 18 mph speed limit. Had a cop pull behind us so I drove 10-12mph with him stuck behind me.
Enjoyed the Indy top 9 shootout yesterday.
Regards, Roy
Semi-busy day at work. Not sure I like the direction Izombie is going. Next season is the last one and I may be sitting it out if there is not a change. Weather turned rainy tonight. I hope everyone has a good day.
spent most of today burning and grinding on the skid loader bucket. Ready to start reassembly tomorrow.
Watching a good defensive little league game. 2 2 middle of the 6th.
Prayers for those in need
Hey, Good afternoon!!
So today was the first day of the commute with the Magnum and it's Hemi. It's quiet and handles like a dream.. 390 ft/lbs of torque don't hurt, either. Kept up with traffic no problem. We'll see how the MPGs are - should be close to the Sundance's 24 MPG.
Gas went from $2.35 to close to $3, I filled up at $2.81, the 19 gallon tank is 5 more than the Sundance and was close to $50 to fill. Maybe I'll only need to make 1 stop every 7 days for fuel rather than the once every 3 I was doing.....
Got the cloudy headlights cleaned and polished and the brake line replaced over the weekend. My BIL has watched over me like a hawk. He keeps me in line, sort of....
Nice day today sun and in the 80s, tomorrow rain.
I'll take what I can get. All the car shows were cancelled over the weekend, so I worked around my house and the parents house and got a few things done as well as the Magnum.
Saturday, I'll be taking the bike up through Port Jarvis, NY through the Upper Delaware River with a few friends. Should be a great ride mirrors the Delaware in the mountains.
Monday will be the parades and most likely I'll be up early for the Color Guard Duties at the cemetary and 2 parades. It's the least I can do for the veterans we honor.
Check in when I can, busy at work and that's ok!
Jim.... We have been to the Westside Farmer's Market in the past, but this time it was only the Christmas House. If you travel north from the market to the last building on the right before the intersection of Detroit Ave. (Big bridge at top of photo.) and W 25th Street then go behind the buildings, you will see where the parking lots are sliding down the hill into the river. There used to be a difference of 3 or more feet. Also hundreds of homeless live on the river's hill side, commonly called Irish Town Bend. When the leaves are off you can see the rements of old coal shutes and many homeless use these as shelter. For those who have not been to Cleveland; Can you imagine piloting an 800 ft ore boat around Irish Town Bend? Great Lakes mariners do it everyday.

Good Afternoon from sunny 77°F Southern Ohio,
It is really nice but calling for showers later today. It was a busy and productive weekend. I ended up buying the Reese Loading Ramps from Lowes. They are really nice and did the job loading the mower. The exhaust fan is back in the ceiling, cut brush with the blade for a total of 7 or 8 hours over the weekend and made a lot of headway in the yard recovery project. I also put up some shelves in the utility room for laundry baskets. Each kid and Mary and I have a clothes basket. The clothes are sorted into a basket and from there the owner puts away their clothes. It is easy to see when they don’t get their clothes put away.
Saturday when we got home from cutting MIL’s grass, the power was out due to a car wreck clipping off a power pole. I have not had an opportunity to actually test the procedure I wrote on how to go from stand-by to generator power, so I gave my bride the procedure which is posted by the distribution panel to my bride and I said let switch to generator power.
With the procedure in hand and minimal instruction from me, she got the house safely switched to generator power. During the 5+ hours the power was off I experimented with the pre-determined loads in the procedure and everything reacted as expected. I was very pleased with my bride, the generator and the procedure. When the power was restored, my bride safely restored back to normal from generator power. The generator is a 3500 watt Generac LP.
Kev - I actually heard a kid say that playing sports electronically is a sport. Really?
Fife - Since our move last year I’ve maintained a Honey-Do list too. It is broke out in the to do, and the completed tasks. The to-do’s are prioritized and the completed tasks have a monetary cost if applicable and date completed. Yes, I do have an ODC streak.
Doug - are the lamps the black ones with the chrome shade? Getting those for a couple of bucks is a great deal.
Buckeye - Did you get to the famer’s market downtown? It is pretty neat too.
May God bless
Jim
Morning All!
It's been a busy few days. It wasn't too bad of a weekend. We had some rain, but most of it went north. We had a 50th Anniversary party for my folks on Saturday and I notched another year myself yesterday. I spent the morning with my camera and coffee down at the station/yard. I captured some vintage diesels doing some switching.
Local gas is hovering around $3.00/gallon. Uggh....
Kev - if there isn't an "app" for riding a dirt bike, then good luck with them!!
I took the week off, so I'll try to get a few things knocked off the "honey do" list. Of course, you can see how far I'm getting.........
Good morning from Buckeyeland!
We spent Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday in Cleveland at my engineering society's conference. On Saturday we visited the "Christmas Story House" and learned more about the Parker family. If you are a fan of the movie, you will laugh as you see the Red Rider BB Gun, the famous electrical outlet, the Leg Lamp and the bowling ball. Did you know the famous flag pole was made of pvc pipe? There was a small hole on the side where they used suction to make the tongue stick to the pole. BTW, you can rent pink bunny costumes. I believe the Chief needs one for Roseyville's Easter Parade.
When I am in Cleveland we try to eat lunch at the historic Berea Union Station where CSX and NS trains speed past. It is incredible to see the amount of ND oil being shipped by rail.
Good morning,
Much needed rain overnight, not sure how much but any is good at this point. Seems Doug got it all. It has just been going around us the last week.
Cold and damp, heat is on. I will turn it off once the damp is out. We are making chicken soup in the crock pot for tonight.
Doug, gas is about that same price at the daughter's in Shorewood. Here it is at $2.85 to $2.95 depending if your close to the interstate. Must be getting close to the hoilday!
Aloha. It is a wet day after a wet weekend. But everything is turning nice and green, and I was bundled up enough to make my mile-and-a-half walk to work without getting soaked. Sent the rain off to points east.
I enjoyed a belated birthday celebration on Sat. from my bride who made me a nice meal and tolerated a day of combing flea markets and antique malls looking for train stuff. I was happy with a few Marx goose-neck lamps in great shape for a couple of bucks.
Buckeye, I sure like the KCS color scheme. . . I grew up in Panama (and other countries in Central America) in the 60s. It sure was a lot different then...
DonB, sounds like the layout updates are really coming along.
Kev, I don't know about down your way, but gas went from 2.70 to 3.25 here seemingly overnight.
84 and sunny. Chance of T'storms this afternoon. Meetings this afternoon and tonight. Mow now as grass "jumped".
Have a good one.
Mornin' boys. Cloudy & 66 along the Patterson Creek cut-off. Hopefully the sun will come out and help dry things up. Need to mow lawn before more rain tomorrow.
Middle daughter and future SIL purchased a nice colonial house, in a very nice neighborhood, 4 minutes south of our place. Will make future grandbaby drop-offs easy.... But let's not get ahead of ourselves. I need to get all of Wifey's Spring honey-doos done, before I'm called on to paint in June.
On the train front, my buddy Tom has decided to "trade" me his MTH Chessie GM50 for my WMSRR stuff. This was the one piece of his extensive loco fleet that I truly coveted, so thanks to him I'm getting my 50th birthday present 2 years later.
Back from Mass. Missed a couple o days.
Came home Friday afternoon to find 2 of my trees down. The guy got rained out on his regular job and decided to start mine. Told me to call when I'm ready for the 3rd. Got to get one cleaned up to make room for the other. Gonna be a while.
The yard was a soggy mess when he cut them and it rained hard all night and most of Saturday.
Cleared in time for grandson's game Saturday evening. An 16 to 12 loss Sunday after more heavy downpours it was our turn to deposit the collection.
That was followed by dinner out with Mrs then BSing with a neighbor while pideling around in the garage.
Evening was another ball game. An 18 to 14 win. Grandson played well in both games. A couple of hits and good fielding in both games.
Today starts the bucket project while waiting for the yard to dry.
AJ's team made the most of the second day at Indy Quals with all 3 improving. The 2 ABC Supply cars are 10 and 11 and Davisson moved from 33 to 19. Best of all, Princess Sparkle not on pole. Hope she does not take Foyt team out at start. Mowed yard. Got 50 cents off gas fill up. Did jigsaw puzzle with wife. I hope everyone has a good day.
WOW, only 54 out there. Todays high of 66 was last night at midnight. Still no rain for us. They keep saying 90% but it never hits us.
Yesterday had the kids over and we cooked out on the grill. Tried to teach the SIL's other son who is 13 how to ride the 110 dirt bike. Like pounding sand into a rat hole. He never got out of 1st gear. I don't think he even knows how to ride a bike. Only thing the kid knows how to do is play on his devices. The second he got off the dirt bike he was playing on his phone. WTH? How sad! No wonder these kids are all messed up.
Jordan, the 4 year old got fed up waiting for him and just went off riding on his own.
Good All Star NASCAR race last night. Go Kevin!!!
75 degrees and cloudy. May see a little sun. 20% chance of rain today. Everything growing including weeds. That is Ok as can be pulled. Needed the rain.
A very nice day. Reffed a game this morning. Another blowout. Spent the afternoon with the better half visiting local history museums and antique stores. Went to Mass. Good news, bad news at Indy. AJ got all 3 cars in race. Pippa Mann was one of two that got bumped. Watched Indy 11 lose 2-1 at home tonight. I hope everyone has a good day.
Well still really warm and no end in sight...summer already!
Got the mods to the boat lift installed. Need to double check, tighten everything up,remove the temporary supports, and test it tomorrow. Should be good. I have done this before. Always amazes me how 4 1/4 in cables can lift nearly 5,000 lbs.
Dennis - glad the new phone saved the day for you!
Dennis I have a cell phone thru verizon where I get like 300 minutes for what have you talk/text. we may use 5 minutes in a month. it is also bluetooth thru the truck when we are in it ( only time we have it on is when we are out and about. The truck also has it own and I get 90 minutes a month thru it also. Which we never use up. The truck gets a better signal than my actual cell phone. Oh yeah even thou not hooked up blue tooth to the car, the car gets 90 minutes a month also. My brother asked me once, as he knows where I'm at the cell has bad signal, what you do if your house lost power and you have no phones, I said thats what the truck and car are for.
Evening all. Not a lot going on here. Going to rearrange some of my tin plate as now moving over to the wall of shelves. empty the shelves so I could cut groves in the boards, but that never happened. Didn't get the first one down. May still try and do it as I will only have the top shelf with anything on it, other than junk lol. Need to go thru that and start doing these boards before I can't again lol.
Talk to you all later.
