Hello there,
Spent a couple of great days at York. Breakfast yesterday with Roy, John F, the Jersey Boys and the Michigan gang. Got to shake hands with Fife, Brent, Laz and many more at the CTT both.
Then a group photo and the hit of the day an Ice Cream social in the parking lot, Big thanks to Hudson John! !!
I tried to post the photo last night but Straight Talk doesn't support a hot spot and my phone doesn't have enough smoke to do Shutterfly.
My purchases were few. I got 3 pair of prewar O21 switches for a song and an early 60s Mantua PRR 2 8 2 at a steal.
Breakfast is over, soon heading to Lancaster.
Prayers for those in need .

Good evening all,
Foyt team was absolutely horrible in qualifying today. Dead last and next to dead last. Embarrassing. Had a good practice walk outside today. Did 10.2 miles in 2:41+ for a 3.79 mph average. I feel pretty good about the Mini. Went to Mass and the local historical society dinner. Program was not the best in the world. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Morning all. 67 and sunny. Rain tomorrow evening.
Roy, that bottle of light oil costs a lot. [I know, you were probably working some] York can mean bargins but the getting together with friends makes it.
Hope all have a great week ahead.

Good Morning,
Glad to hear everyone enjoyed York. The breakfast at Cracker Barrel looked like a big success. From what I saw (thanks to John & Jean Fullerton), looks like everyone was ready for a fun couple of days. Will try to send some of the warm weather to you all. It was 84 here yesterday and suppose to be the same today, but with very unusual high humidity. Definitely the highlights of York is the opportunity of seeing everyone, that's what makes the event so special.
Our situation hasn't changed much here, he is in a intensive PT living facility, they are working on his ability to get in and out of bed without assistance. Progress being made but very slow. She is still at home, Kay goes over everyday, takes her to see her dad when she is able. Helps her with her meds, and meals. I "think" I know what needs to be done when he is released in a couple of weeks, going to be difficult at best.
Looking forward to Buckeye's visit on Thursday, will be short so will have to have a well planned itenerary planned. Will have the train room ready for them.
About all there is to report on from here, so have a great day and be safe.
Don
Afternoon all!
Made is back from York late last night. Flight was good and on time in spite of some storms in the area. Bushed. Will take it easy today.
Did not make any big purchases. Only parts for a std ga project I am working on and the bottle of light oil. Spending time with good friends was the main reason for being there! We had about 20 of us together for breakfast Friday and again for HJohns ice bream social in the parking lot Fri afternoon. Excellent as always!
Hope all are well, prayers for DBakers parents, and Lord protect Buckeye in CA!
Regards, Roy
Good morning all, hope the Yorkies did well. I watched a little bit of the Barbara Bush funeral yesterday. She was a remarkable woman. Got a little misty eyed when they played some of the hymns. I think music affects my emotions like that. I was probably feeling the recent death of my sister and remembering the passing of my wife in February 2017. I thought I was bullet proof at this point but I guess you never are. On a happier note, I'm going to my Dixieland Jazz club for some happy music today. My dine out buddy is going into one of those assisted living places for a trial run today. They offer a 10 day trial stay. They are very expensive as you can imagine. His kids are putting pressure on him not to live alone any longer because he passed out recently but fortunately was around people. He has some heart issues as well. I don't know what I would do if a similar situation came up. Probably have to sell the house to afford one of those places. Mean time, keep on trucking or as we used to say keep it on the rail. Don B. prayers for your situation. Have a good day all,
Ray

safely back from York.
After three days on the run Mrs &I slept late. Left the campground around 1PM.
Young friend seized his fresh engine yesterday at test & tune. He was waiting on me at the house. Looks to me like a cold seize. It wasn't warmed up good enough. It'll need a new piston but I think the jug will clean up.
Emptying the camper next. I'll try to get the picture up later.

Rain out for Indy car today. Just as well as Foyt team had all sorts of problems. Did nothing but a few errands today. Did watch the new Jumanji on DVD. Not as good as the first one, but ok. I hope everyone has a good day.
Mornin' FellasMy first trip to York in a few years and I can say it reminded me why I tried not to miss a trip! The comradarie was as good as ever and I think we may have had our largest gathering for a CTT Pic! I almost bought that C&O Yellowbelly Hudson from Lionel with TMCC... but I just couldn't pull the trigger. Was a very good deal, but with the pending repairs to the rental, work to do at our current house, and the pending move I just couldn't justify it. I did decide to go through the heard and thin it out a bit, so have to do that and then figure out a good site to use for selling... any recommendations? As Fife said, we found a nice little joint along RT 30 just North of Hanover, PA. It was a microbrew of sorts with a more upscale menu than we were used to... but HOLY HECK! was it worth the visit! Always good to have a nice chat with Fife. Will definitely need to plan a trip out to WV.HudsonJohn out did himself with the ice cream social! Had some lemon and peach icecream that was very tastey... even though the temps weren't as high as we've had in the past. That cool April PA breeze sent a bit of a chil up the spine! My purchases were a T-Shirt for the kids (both loved them), a dinosaur aquarium car for Matthew (couldn't find a car for Christina), and a set of LCCA vehicles that will look good on display (a bit too big for the layout).

Good morning,
46 here heading to 61. Took the Triumph Trident for a spin yesterday. Need to change the oil in her. Have not changed it since 2015. Seems some gas leaked past the petcocks and got into the oil so I need to check that out.
Wife is at Jury duty.

Aloha. It was still pretty cold this morning - yesterday's pleasant weather fooled me into wearing a too-light jacket. It helped to keep me walking briskly to work! I am so glad everyone had a good time at York. Nothing too exciting this weekend - the bride and I celebrated our 29th anniversary with a trip to the theatre to see Oklahoma - a favorite of mine, and I did some outside things. Looks like one of our cars is dead - so will have to think through that this week...

DJ - That sounds scary! I had something similar happen to me back in 1989. My parents had handed down their 1982 Pontiac J2000 to my sister and I to drive while we were 'learning'. Well I was on my over to pick up some friends and while on my way up a rather steep hill the engine started rattling like a bucket of bolts. Pulled off to the side and there was a nice stream of oil running behind the car. Walked up the hill to my friend's house and called my Mom who gave me the number to the mechanic. Called him and he came out with the tow truck and hauled it away. Come to find the next day that the engine had thrown a rod and punctured a hole in the block. Glad that didn't happen at highway speed!
Had a good Sunday afternoon listening to members of the Titanic Jazz band, a Dixieland group here on the West Coast. They were really good. Our jazz club gives time to the wanabees before and after the featured band. Some of them are good while others need to go back to the drawing board. One guy is a good player but he plays the same songs every month. Maybe that's all he knows. Shared the show with my good friend and fellow model railroader Bob W. We both go to this once a month. Got a dentist cleaning appointment tomorrow. Need to discuss what to do about my bad tooth which envolves an anchor for my partial. They want me to have it pulled but it doesn't hurt so I'm in no hurry. I put it off until after my trip back East but now will have to deal with it. I read where dry mouth can cause tooth decay because you have not enough saliva to wash away things that cause decay. I get dry mouth as a side effect from all the medicine I have to take. You can't win.
Very very very quiet day at work. Walked inside today as too wet for outsife stroll. Foyt salvaged the day with a 12th for Leist and 18th for TK. Hopefully worst day of the season for them. Gas jumped over 30 cents today. Go figure. Izombie was different tonight. I hope everyone has a good day.
Good Evening from wet 50°F Southern Ohio,
Back on nights. I did have a busy but good weekend. My grandson and I did some shooting over the weekend. I recently got a Ruger LCP II and wanted to try it out. I was very impressed with the pistol.
I got the 3 rail AF train of my friend running. Like so often a little cleaning and oiling did the trick. The trucks have the typical zinc rot, but for now they are OK. I’ll try and drop it off Tuesday when I get up.
It was a year ago today that we saw the house we’re living in for the first time. We’ve really enjoyed the new house and location. We are blessed. While eating before work looking out the window we saw deer, squirrels, so many different birds, wildflowers and trees.
I’m glad everyone got home from York.
Good Night and may God bless
Jim
on the go yesterday and today.
Received 2 500lb feeders last night. Sending 2 1500 lb finished today. Gonna post the York pic and gotta go
Somebody please add names. Quite a few I don't know.

Our pretty new TV took a dump yesterday. Came home to that. The guy in the shop said it has a back light bad, common problem $120 to fix. Won't be done till Friday or Saturday Darn thing isn't that old,WTH? So much for LG.
Went to Indiana with Mark yesterday and put a new door hinge pin and bushings set on his Dad's old Dodge diesel 2500.
George the cat gave me a huge pile of barf yesterday just as I was leaving to meet Mark.
Wife got booted from Jury duty and was home when I got back. She was happy about that.
Never got a chance to look into the Trident yesterday so maybe today?
Best get!
Morning all
Kevin I call it luck of the draw on anything anymore. I have a LG going on 4 years now without any problems, I have a vizio TV barely 2 years old and has been a pain after about 6 months. I will never buy another. I don't really like the colors, there nice but not clear and sharp like my LG or even my 10 year old Westing house 35"
Not much going on here. Donna's PT guy is here right now. No real train news going on.
Life's hard, even harder if your stupid John Wayne

Well Dennis, If the picture starts to flash on and off about every second you now know what it is.
Your right RT, it is a crap shoot these days.
The repair guy said it happens to a lot of them. Something about the power system being set to the max limit of the LED back lights. So what he does is replace the bad lights and reset the power to them down to a better running level. He said I won't notice any change in the picture but they should not burn out again. If they do he will fix it for free. He said it was like getting a car and just holding the gas wide open all the time. Made sence to me. We will see. Our neighbor Let me use his TV from his bedroom till we get ours back.
A day off. Raining of course. We need it. 60 degrees. Headed to Will Allen's house. You may know him for his featured layout in OGR and CTT. Great guy. Probably traveling to York next spring with me and a couple others.
Got garden spot ready for planting as soon as rains pass.
Have a good one.

Great day today! 84. News said for the first 23 days of April we have now dropped to 7th coldest out of 120 years. I'll take it!
Banks - thanks for the York photo! It was a great group/gathering this year!
Worked in the garage shop all day today.
Kev - bummer on the TV - glad it can be fixed!
Busy day at work. Sometimes I have to shake my head at what happens there. Weather was misty for walk. I hope everyone has a good day.
Good (very early) Morning from overcast 55°F Southern Ohio,
It did not rain as much as the weather guessers thought, but it is to rain over night.
The replacement sash for the Anderson double hung kitchen window came today. It looks good. I’ll get some matching stain and get the pane ready to replace this weekend. I never got around to removing the exhaust fan so that is on the weekend list too. I want to swing by Rural King and get some 380 ammo just in the event we can work in some shooting time.
I enjoyed the York picture. A handsome bunch indeed! It is good to put faces to names. I also like to know real names to forum names.
Pretty quiet at work tonight. The crew worked hard and got the assigned work done early, and the area is clean, so we are in monitoring mode.
Mike - Every day I wonder what upper supervision is thinking with some of the decisions.
Mornin' boys. Rain and 51 along the Patterson Creek cut-off. Off to the station today. Wifey recovering from food poisoning (bad batch of McNuggets she thinks). Started coming down with the aches on Saturday. Yesterday was the first day she got back on her feet.
We have a wild turkey running around our house. (No. I don't run.) FifeMax is determined to start Thanksgiving early this year.
Mowed lawn for the first time this year. The dwarf red maple I planted last year made it through the frigid winter, and is blooming, as are my tulips.
Started spraypainting layout bridges; 2 black, 1 brown. Was happy with the black ones, but the brown is too light. Back to the hardware store.
Good morning folks!
Happy Birthday NJdevil (Rich)!
Woooeee - a cold front today will take it down to 55 around noon - yuz guz up nawth better keep yer union suits out!
Mike C - ya gotta wonder - biggest impact to productivity and profitability is clueless management.
Fife - Wild Turkey running around the house - put the cap on it - ya got Prince Albert in a can?
Sunny and will get into the 60s today. Better than Tx.
Wife and I are going to check out that old Edison phonograph today at my step uncle's. If it will fit and is not too heavy we will bring it home.
We also had two Turkey at the bird feeder cleaning up over spill today Fife.
Happy Birthday Rich!!!
Morning. Cloudy and may drizzle. 62 degrees. Been goofing off. Wifey loaded up all the dogs and went to buy ANOTHER Japanese maple. Going to get the new shingles shot. Had the old version several years ago. Now for the new version. Free as insurance pays. Have a good one.
