 I am with you Jim,

The snow totals are all over, from 4" to 8" to 8" to 14". I don't think they have a clue. But we are ready.

I think it's time for LIONEL to start cranking out spaceships once again.  Did y'all catch the SpaceX Falcon Heavy launch?  Those 2 booster rockets descending to their landing sites simultaneously was simply awesome!!!  We have one of their labs nearby on the other side of Knobley.

Yes that was awesome. What would really be awesome is them retrieving the Tesla roadster after it orbits the sun once....in a million years....?

Good evening,

I spent most of my work day in meetings again, but I was able to get home by 1715. I built the final piece of IKEA furniture that was in the house and I did not see any new boxes. I should be able to make significant progress on my comic book storage case this weekend. I just purchased hockey tickets for tomorrow night. My older son and I will watch the Capitals host the Blue Jackets. My son became a Blue Jackets fan when we lived in Dayton. I am an Oilers fan. It's time to relax now.

Good night,

Joe

Good evening all,

Lousy day at work.  Supposed to be good weather today but was windy and cold.  At least drive in was better.  Not much going on at home.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Ha ha JimH!

Cloudy and headed to 69 today. Deep freeze returns tomorrow!

Spent the afternoon yesterday dealing with Medicare ins online and on the phone. Got it sorted out but took a couple of hours. Then worked on SS to prepare for filing in Oct at 66. Wanted to see if it made sense to file 6 months early but the penalty even for 6 months was too much considering what Medicare will pull from the check each month. That took a while as SS runs a year behind on reported income, so I had to enter my entire work history from late 60's until 2018 (projected) as I stopped working last year and their projection on your statement assumes you are working until the day I would turn 66 at my 2016 pay level. Their on line tools do not accept their own XML file of your pay history to simplify the process Grumpy

From the news reports looks like Snowmagedden has started up nawth...

Big SNOW storm was a bust for us, Only 4" so far. Fine with me.

Used both the truck and tractor. Tractor is great for trimming up. Truck is warm heading up and down the lane.

Did the lane and the neighbors came back inside.

No other plans for today.

TGIF from the East Side of Philadelphia....haha

38F right now and mostly cloudy...yeah, me too, done with the cold weather, need to break out the short sleeves, converitlbe and Road Star........

Long week of meetings over, I can sleep late tomorrow and get some stuff done in the attic/train room.  My BIL has some left over insulation I'll be taking from him as well as a nice carpet for the rest of the attic.  Getting very antsy to get a layout started.  I think my LC+ Blue Comet will be the last engine for a while (need to get the associated passenger cars) as I think I'm around 40 or so engines.  A VERY quick accounting showed at least 30 and I know I missed some.

I have enough Post War Sunoco tankers, both 2 and 3 dome, to have a unit train.  I MAY have over done my train buying over the years.......nah, couldn't happen...

Joe D, BIG NJ Devils fan, big battle in Colombus on Saturday, we'll see what the outcome is....

Back to my vehicle diagnostics.....more reports to write...lol

ENOUGH ALREADY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ugh.. Even us in the Great White North are done with this. I can't wait to start complaining about the 90 degree days......

Oh well, it's the Mrs. birthday today so we'll going out for a nice dinner tonight. Being so close to Valentine's Day, also gives me a chance to "double dip" for both occasions! Big Smile

Thanks for the feedback on the blades. I think I'm going to roll the dice on Dollar Shave Club and I'll let you know.

Banks - A beast of a saw!

Joe - Have fun at the game! Oilers, huh? How did that come about? (99?)

Rich - How far "East" of Philly did the free Bud Light from the Eagles parade get? Beer

JimH - Thanks! Now for sports, the Winter Olympics are canceled bacause it's TOO C-C-COLD!! back to you......

Have a good one and prayers.

Aloha. Lotsa snow here overnight - maybe 10 inches. This is the sixth day in a row with measurable snow. Sigh. At least it motivated me to take apart the snow-blower to see what's wrong with it. And it was a snow-day for the bride's school and for the youngest's high school. So they were around all day.

I also puttered around the layout - fixed one of the 151 semaphores that had a maladjusted I53C. Now I have to puzzle through the other 151 which isn't snapping as it should...

Rob, I've been using the Dollar Shave Club for the last few years - they are a great deal.

Good evening all,

Not a bad day.  Work was semi-quiet.  Foyt team doing well so far in Phoenix test.  Went to movie night at the historical society.   Watched Jane the Virgin.  Looks like Izombie returns soon.  Weather ok today, but could be lousy this weekend.   I hope everyone has a good day.

Good evening,

The older son and I returned a short while ago from the hockey game. It was fun and the Capitals beat the Blue Jackets 4-2.  I had a mostly productive day at work before coming home a bit early to ensure we made it to the hockey game. I am ready for bed now and looking forward to no alarm clock for tomorrow morning.

Rob - You might say that 99 had something to do with it.  Everyone else in my family is a Flyers fan; however, when I was old enough to watch and understand hockey (around 1980), the Great One was the hottest thing in the NHL and I was an instant fan.  Although the Oilers have had many lean years I am still a fan.  Happy Birthday to the wife; enjoy the dinner.

Good night,

Joe

Good evening all, just checking in.  It has been a while. Warm weather continues here with temp in the 80's most days.  Only rained once since new year started.  I have finally completed all the dental work I had done.  What a relief!  Oldest son and I have our reservations made for going to Virginia and North Carolina this April.  Still need to nail down seat assignments.  My oxygen supply company sent a letter to my doctor about starting a new contract on my concentrator.  They ran a test on me and found that my lowest blood oxygen level during waking hours was 89.  They may run a test while sleeping.  Medicare will only pay if you are 87 or below.  Don't know what they will do yet but I have to plan ahead for our trip.  It would be nice if they told me that I don't need oxygen for flying anymore.  I made reservations over the phone and the nice folks at the airline charged me $80 for doing what they used to do for free. Checked bags are $25 each in both directions.  Only break I got was frequent flyer miles but had to use double the normal amount to get the flight we wanted.  Son will handle the rental car and I will get the rest.  This may be my last chance to see my brother and sister both of whom have stage 4 cancer.  I should get out in the garage and run some trains but my heart isn't in it right now.  TTOS meet this weekend.  Will try to make that on Sunday.

Ray

Morning all!

Enjoying a quiet house and a nice, warm coffee. We had a nice evening. I took the Mrs. to our favorite Southern BBQ place for her birthday/Valentine's Day. Man, I really need to get a pair of "stretchy" pants for those meals!! We popped over to the MIL's after to do my good deed and shovel her driveway and have a few cocktails.......

I might have a lazy day today. I'm thinking about setting up the Carpet Central with my wide radius track so I can run my Autoracks. Might watch some Olympics too.

Ray - That's crazy. Sign of the times I guess. Most places want you to do everything online and not have any human interaction. Run those trains!!!! Best form of therapy.

Joe - Props for sticking with your team! Yes, they have had some lean years, but they've had some decent drafts lately, so the future looks good. Apparently this McDavid guy isn't too shabby...... (You want to talk lean years, try being a Leafs fan!)

DougM - Thanks for the feedback. Wow, a 153C actually needed an adjustment?? Laugh

Have a good one.

Snow and lot's of it. Most of lower Michigan got 8 to 10 inches with another 2 to 4 expected by Sunday night. Of course our street is snow covered but the main street is clear of snow. My wife's Red Wings lost last night due to some JA getting a 4 minute penalty.

Good morning from a very fluffy North Bluff above Marseilles. We have pretty much the same conditions as SJ here. 8" to 10". Snow plow on the Ranger got a good workout yesterday.

Right now it is 17 degrees and snow covered. They claim 2" to 4" more by tomorrow night with -4 tomorrow night but 40s by Wednesday . Oh joy!

I may venture out today just to look around.

Ray, prayers for your brother and sister.

Wife's sister is still hanging on, I don't know how?

So does the birth rate 9 months later.  Surprise

Hope all OK.  Rainy and 62 degrees.  Sad thing.  Rain off and on for next 4 days.

Yanks in for a snow event [again].

Was so warm and pretty yesterday, Wifey was gardening.

Did catch a guy dumping garbage on pond property.  Put on latex gloves, went through all the bags and bottom of last bag, envelope with address.  Deputy [lives in R'ville] called dumper.  Gave him 48 hours to clean up or have warrant against him.  Cleaned up before dark yesterday. Thumbs Up

Good Morning,

Suppose to be a bit cooler here today, low 70's, AND possible rain on Tuesday!  That would be great.

Still playing around in the train room, no matter how much I get done, always seems that there is more left to do, than what I was aware of.  The "To Do" list gets longer and longer, not shorter.

I may have mentioned I sent some Miller Eng. lights back for repair, their customer service was really terrific.  IF anyone has any and they are not working correct, they have replacement signs for a lot of them that are out of "stock".

Ray, may see you in Arcadia on Sunday.  Your upcoming trip sounds really exciting.

Fife,  I think the SpaceX launch was really fantastic, can't imagine what the car floating around would look like.  Whole thing seems like something from Flash Gordon.

Jim H, Welcome to the coffee pot!

Roy,  Congrats on all the house sorting, you're welcome here anytime!

Doug M/Rob, I finally gave up on the 153 C's, and just hard wired them.  I couldn't keep them adjusted due to the constant changing of the ambient light.

Banks, Sounds like a fun day.

Well going to get going, trip to Costco, then who knows.  Hope everyone has a good day and great week-end.

Layout legs L bracketed to the floor.  Extra insurance.  Ran Y6B some.  Couldn't figure out why I lost control.  Got to remember the right number in Legacy.  DUHHH

Got several engines with the same combo of numbers.  So have to use middle numbers instead for first two or last two.  Get rid of some engines would help.

Taking Wifey shopping.  Good part.  Cracker Barrel.
