Good evening,

Today did not go as I hoped. Nothing went wrong but I did not seem to do much or get much accomplished. For some reason, I awoke with some neck and back pain. It started yesterday and I believe it is due to sleeping with a thicker pillow the other night. I usually use a very thin pillow or no pillow at all, but I used a thicker one my wife purchased a couple of days ago. The pain became worse throughout the day and I actually took pain medicine which I rarely ever do. I was still able to do some laundry, light grocery shopping, and visit a comic book store, but did not have the desire to do much else.  I watched some NCAA basketball and read a few comic books. I am off to bed now and plan to not use a pillow tonight.

Good night,

Joe

Good evening all,

Quiet day at home.  Still warm, but wet outside.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Morning All!

It was a "beaut" yesterday. Took advantage of the weather and cleaned up the yard. Had the girls help with the pooches "land mines". I finally got around to finishing my tile cuts, so I can start re-doing the tub surround. I got together with a few buddies and watched the NHL Skills Competiton last night. Other than that, off to play hockey shortly and then repent my sins.

Dennis - 408?? WOW! I really need to get my Camaro on the road.....

Mike C- Very cool that was your daughter's set. It makes the article even better.

Joe - In your line of work, you better make that layout modular!!

Chief/Roy - Snow bunnies, nice!! That's the best part of skiing!

Chief - Nice looking SD60E. I've been eyeing the First Responders one, but I'll wait for a bit. You have to hand it to NS for having the most creative paint schemes. (I know UP is pushing hard.)

Have a good one and prayers.

Rob

Good morning, 29 heading to 38 then down to 25 with clouds. Winter is back and heading east.

My son and his clan showed up yesterday. First time in over two years. Humm? Huh? Ran trains with grandkids Madyson and Nathaniel while he went through old pictures with his wife and Sandra.. At least there were no fights or derailments. it was good to see them. Maybe things will get better from here out.

No plans for today but to stay warm.

Sixty one more days.  Yes

Sun and 40, we still have a lot of winter left so I enjoy each day we get like this. No breaking news here, just doing what has to be done and staying warm.

RT although I read this forum each day I do not always sign in. Sorry I did not read your PM till this morning.

Morning all!

50, sunny first thing, 64 later - I'll take it!

RIP Mort Walker (Beetle Bailey, Hi & Lois,...)

The author of the old Ernie/present Piranna Club strip is retiring and today was his last after 30 years. One of my favorites.

Been reading with interest the last few weeks about the '68 Bullitt Mustang discovery/reemergence. Auto writers speculated for decades that the car existed, did not exist, was here or there. So it really exists. Interesting story.

Sort of watching 24 hrs of Daytona.

Chief - yes, nice loco!

Glad to see complaints of colds/crud/etc. have wound way down!

Rainy morning.  Is warm though.

Buckeye, great. Thumbs Up

Dennis, hope you all get some wet.  Those warm winds make fire danger.

Cough Cough.  No fever.

KEV, hope that continues.  Way to go.

Rob, make the jump and get that First Responders engine.

Hope all have a great week ahead.

Good evening,

Was a good day yesterday,

Bad day on the North Bluff. Today, wife got news her sister has been put into a Hospice house in Bat City  MI.

So we went to her mom's and checked in on her mom and brother Mark and when we were there she called her sister as she had requested to her brother Mark to ask her and they talked for a short while. Her sister is too weak for chemo and because she has stomach cancer she can't eat. Her time is short and she is doing her best to make the arrangements.

Her mom is not doing well at all either and now has in home care for 3 hours a day 5 days a week. Last week they (Medicare) did an evaluation of Alice and she qualified for an in home care giver five days a week to help with washing and getting her dressed and stuff like that so that should help out Mark some. I guess she has been opening the pantry door and inviting imaginary people into the house. Mark said she is in and out of it as we saw today. You can see the stress on him to.

Going to be a tough year.

Best move on.

Good evening,

We had rain all day here, which was the proper setting for the pain I have. I did not sleep well last night and although my neck does not hurt as badly as yesterday, I am still quite uncomfortable. I was still able to suffer at the AT&T store this afternoon as I took the princess to get a new phone. She has not had one since our trip to Normandy over Thanksgiving; she dropped it in the toilet and did not know it until the next morning. I also needed to get the older son a new phone number. The representative was too chatty for me and took over an hour and a half to complete the transaction. That is ridiculous as far as I am concerned but since I have never had my own personal cell phone before I have no idea how long it should take to complete.  I will take some medicine soon and hopefully sleep better tonight.

Rob - You're not kidding.  This is why I don't want to overbuild anything at this point, but I do want something nice and fun.

Kev - I am sorry to hear the awful news about your sister-in-law.

Good night,

Joe

The other day you all got talking about slot cars, Made me think of a tinplate wind up set I have. They run on a tinplate circle about 18" across. I need to dig them out and take some pictures of them for my train inventory. So I can claim them also on my insurance policy. Just incase.  Not sure anymore who it was made by. Found them but now where is the track. Wife has them in a display cabinet. They where made by MARX

Good Evening,

Kevin, so sorry to hear of your families medical issues!  Prayers for you and the family.

Weather sure has been warm "winter" this year.

Joe, Share your pain regarding the cell phone process, IF I have to go to their store, that's the only activity for the day.  Shouldn't be that way.

Looks like plans begining for York, that's great!  Won't be making it this year.

Kinda late and tired, hope you all have a great day!

Morning all!

Bright, sunny, "only" 55 today, "cold" front hit last night.

Got back to work yesterday on sorting stuff in the garage into the new tool chests. That is the plan for this week.

Returned a Kidde fire extinguisher about 10 days ago per their big recall going on. The new one arrived last week while I was traveling. They said it would take 4-6 weeks. They included a return label for me to reuse the packaging and ship the old one back. There is a special procedure to call FedEx for pickup. Since it is pressurized they have to pick it up, no store drop off.

If you have a Kidde fire extinguisher, Google "Kidde fire extinguisher recall" and there are instructions on how to check yours. they made a ton of them with a plastic trigger assembly that can fail. You get a new one for free if yours fits the profile.

Aloha. Cold, windy and 'sleety' this morning. Prayers for your extended family, Kev. That is tough news. Joe, as others said, cell phone changes can be painful and made more so by 'chattiness' -- I recently had to get my own phone for the first time in decades and it took half-a-day to port over the number and get everything right. I ended up having to call a number from the store that I figured I could've done on my own. LOL.

RT, I love tinplate Marx - and tinplate anything -- what does the set look like?

Afternoon All!

Ugh. Well winter is back. Supposed to get 4" to 6" and that north wind is nasty!

The Mrs. already has the Patriots fanfare on the NFL Network. It's going to be long week. Lord, give me strength....... Sad

Kev - Wow. I know they've been suffering for awhile. Prayers. On a better note, I'm glad your son came for a visit. I know that's been another difficult situation.

Joe - I went through that nonsense on my last renewal. It's a joke how long they drag out that process. Banks, I hope your taking notes!!

RT - Very cool Marx cars!

Roy - A Cadillac you say, interesting. What body style did they use? The CTS?

Have a good one and prayers.
