Merry Christmas
our Christmas Eve gathering was good. Traditionally the kids & grandkids gather here for a Christmas Eve meal. Ham, tater salad, chicken dip, meatballs, and more.
Followed that with a few hours in bed before Midnight Mass. Afterwards wrapped the last of the presents and now back to bed. Brunch at niece's then the whole crew at daughters for lunch.
Tonight a special prayer for those in need.

Merry Christmas,
It is 11 degrees out there and won't hit 20 today but it is a White Christmas!!!
Still alive after the Christmas Eve bash. House is now quiet the belly was full and new oil in the daughters car went well.
The only bummer is we never made it into the basement to run trains. The new tires on the Gator are good in the snow and it had no problems driveing around the yard and woods in the almost 5" we got.
Fire in the fireplace and all is good! Cooking a ham to take to Daughter's this afternoon for Christmas day.
The boy called to let us know the weather is fine at Disneyworld where they are spending their holiday two weeks.
Best get cracking!
I just cleared off about 5 inches of Christmas snow that we were blessed with.
MERRY CHRISTMAS to all.

Merry Christmas to All !
We too had a wonderful Christmas eve, took Kay's parents to church, then our house for lasagna. Ran trains for a little bit, and was very lucky everything worked as hoped. Ran a Big Boy with 14 reffers, the J with all 7 pass cars, and a pair of AC4400's with 7 UP pass cars. Even rotated all 3 trains on 3 tracks. I was impressed, first time did that.
Then we watched John Candy's "Uncle Buck", everyone enjoyed. Chris here and spent the night, and today will probably be more of the same.
Great picture of Col and his Mom, he definetly looks excited.
Prayers for all, and may each of you and your families have a wonderful day!
God Bless!
Don
Merry Christmas, guys.
Santa thought I was bad, got a cold for Christmas, and for some it is a blessing since I have lost my voice.
Turkey and Ham are in the oven, up late for Christmas Eve mass, just me and Mom. Everyone else went this morning.
No gifts this year for the nieces and nephews, no one was well enough to go shopping. I did the immediate family and stopped there.
It threatened to snow but we got rain. Sun shine now at 37F and winds at 25-35.
I'm going back to the kitchen and try to finish up.
Joyous Christmas, my friends, God bless us, everyone!

40 degrees and real windy [wind chill is horrible].
Back from the southern part of the county. Went to Frankie's and Lea's to see what the grandkids got. They opened presents while we were there. Wifey took breakfast casserole [ham, grits and eggs baked]. The Yankee grandparents loved it. Just got back. Have now installed my WeatherTech's in 4 Runner and 97 Silverado. The other Granddad is also a deer hunter. We had great chats.
Thanks Kev for posting photo. got to figure out what is going on with Windows update.
Merry Christmas.
Evening and Merry Christmas all!
Started out below freezing today and warmed to 40 or so. Not a bad day.
I made beignets for everyone this mornng for breakfast. They came out excellent! A Cafe' Du Monde moment!
Steaks for dinner tonight. Son is grillmaster. I made an apple pie. We are still stuffed from last night and breakfast but we will soldier through! Onward!
Sounds like everyone had a great day! Anj - feel better!
Regards, Roy
Dennis & Spank, a big 6 degrees out there right now and not much better the next few days. Winter is locked in. I love the bite of the cold on your face and nose. Just don't love too much of it!
Chief, Glad I could help!
We had a very blessed Christmas overall. Only bummer is the state of affairs with Sandra's mom and sisters situations. I don't see any good outcome there, just the wait.
Son, Russ and family are in Florida till the end of next week, he even called this morning. They seem to be doing fine and the kids seemed to be happy to talk to us and see us when we were at their house two weeks ago..
Daughter Katie and family came here yesterday for gift exchange and an oil change on her car. Gator rides in the woods and other fun.
Today we went to Katie's house for Christmas dinner with Dan's side and too many kids and people to keep up with.
All in all I could not hope for more??
Hello there, been a great Christmas.
Brunch with niece and family at 9 followed by gift exchange and dinner at the daughters. Left there just in time to do the barn work on the way to visit mom and have supper with her.
Came home to relax with a sip of wine. Now struggling to stay awake to finish this post.
Later
Prayers for those in need.
Good evening all,
Cold day but clear. Everybody made it here ok. Everybody had plenty to it and seemed to have a good time. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
The snow that fell yesterday is still here today, so we had a whits Christmas this year.
Was a quiet one at home, just my wife and I. Made loaded scrambled eggs for breakfast, then enjoyed a wonderful rib roast for the afternoon meal.
We had a Star Wars marathon today, watching episodes IV, V, and VI.
About all for now.
Mornin' boys. Clear and 23 along the Patterson Creek cut-off. Remains of white Christmas still on ground and deck.
We got a call Christmas Eve that put everything we had planned yesterday on hold. Wifey's brother took a turn for the worse (leukemia), so we made the 4 hour drive to Philadelphia to spend precious time with him. After we left U of Penn, I called an audible and we stopped off in Baltimore to see oldest Princess and grandsons. Holding the baby was good medicine.
Dinner at 3 if you're nearby.
Fife Prayers for your Wife's brother. He fighting a tuff battle.
Morning all. A unscheduled trip to the V.A. in Augusta today as my C-pac machine decided to stop working last night. Need to call them in about 40 minutes.
No real news from this corner of the world. Hope all have a good day
Good, cold morning from The North Bluff above Marseilles!
Prayers Fife for your BIL, a real bummer anytime of year.
- 4 here guys. Plan for the day stay warm.
Maybe go over to neighbor Brian's this afternoon for day after get together and help finish off leftovers and beer.
Got to feed the deer.
Morning all!
I hope everyone had a good Christmas. I'm just surveying the house after "Christmageddon" Ugh.... looks like Amazon puked from one end to the other!! My daughter was actually up first thing to help clean up. Talk about a "Christmas miracle". I don't think it has anything to do with her new boyfriend coming over later to "Meet the Parents."
Fife/Kev - Continued prayers for the in-laws.
Roy - Tres bien!!
Don - Can't beat a good Christmas eve train session!
I think the post Christmas cold is starting. Better get some whiskey and/or Nyquil into me.
Have a good one.
Rob
Morning. Cold and sunny. Errands and then take Wifey east to shop in Smithfield NC. Go to Tractor Supply and get deer corn. Also some Carhart long sleeve shirts work shirts. Only thing I aseed for for Christmas and got none.
Spanky gave me a hint on posting photos. Switched to Chrome and works.
Prayers for Fify's BIL.
Notice Buckeye didn't post Christmas train photos. Ashamed. He got a lump of coal for Christmas.
Happy post Christmas.....
Dinner was late and Dad was getting grouchy, however, the turkey and ham were spot on and he was good from there.
Mom pooped out at 7, so Easter dinner willbe at my house to try to keep Mom outta the kitchen.
Fife - Prayers for you BIL - Can't make dinner until 8 from here....lol, but thanks for the invite.
Still trying to kick this cold, up and down last night.
The drive in was great left 5 minutes late and was 15 minutes earlier than I needed to be. Gotta love the fact that MOST people got the day off....not me, gotta keep the economy rollin'.
Prayers for those in need.....check back when I can....
Afternoon all!
39 and drizzling. good stay inside weather.
Had a great time with sister, BIL, and the kids for Christmas. Sis and BIL left this morning. quiet now.
Fife - prayers for BIL
Anj - get well soon!
Rob -
A cold clear day today. Wife and I did very little today as we are both recovering from Monday. Mostly watched movies and other recorded material. Watched some PBS stuff. Will be more active tomorrow. I hope everyone has a good day.
Hello there,
Fife prayers for your BIL.

Banks, cold fired boiler.?????? Did not know they made those things anymore. Bet coal is cheap. Got an auto stoker?
[/quote]
Chief...yep they still make them. Not cheap but available. Hard coal (anthracite)is about $220 a ton. Soft coal(bituminous) is $120. Hard coal is mostly used in stokers. To my knowledge there isn't a stoker available for soft coal. I have one of each. Mom's house has a stoker hot water system Dad put in in 1969. My house has a hand fired boiler I put in in 1981.
Best get a to bed.
Prayers for those in need
Cold morning
- 11 Out there.
Brian and I are going to Menards this morning to get stuff to re-do his fireplace fascia and I need a new switch for the back bathroom and softener salt. Other than that stay warm..
Morning all. 37 degrees and cloudy. Snowing at the farms. Fred there hunting. Not going to amount to much as 35 degrees there. Suppose to stop soon. Nothing fell in R'ville.
Off to hospital this afternoon. Daughter has back surgery.
Hunt tomorrow even though they say real cold. Drive there and pay taxes. Then hunt afternoon. Charge you a big fee to pay online.
Buddy in Iowa on Big Blue forum said -10 right now and snow tonight. Burr.
Banks, sounds like a cheaper way to heat.
Stay warm all.
busy day. 12 this morning when son and I started hauling manure. Was up to 16 when we finished. Made a quick trip to the office on the way to get a ton of coal. A couple of stops on the way home so it was after dark til I got to unloading.
Got about half in and decided to quit. The 9 degree cold was making the asthma kick my butt.
Fife...hows the BIL?
Chief.....at today's prices coal is about 25% of the cost of oil.
Off to bed soon. I'm wupped?
Evening all. Not a lot got done today. Set out to do some Shopping for the weekend and it just never happened.
Hope all had a good day
