RT, best of all for your Surgery. May your doctors be good ones.
Slept all night for once. Cool and sunny here. Changed the tractor over to mower dress. They are calling for rain tonight so I may mow this afternoon.

Good morning all !
RT, Best of luck with the surgery, hopefully they can make use of an alternative to open heart.
Kev, Like I keep reminding the BetterHalf about the heart meds, incremental changes, it is a marathon not a sprint.
Don, We went to our 50th last Sept. Our biggest surprise was that our class sponsor was still around and even looked better than most of our classmates. We only went to the "Meet & Greet" on the first night as we were going too my sister's surprise 80th B'day party on the secod night. The reunion was having a dinner dance that night so we gave our tickets to a friend and classmate, who otherwise couldn't afford to go.
Seems I have missed a few B'Days of late, my apologies. y'all !
Gotta run , time for my CHF group meeting.
Later !

Good Morning!
Hope the surgery goes well RT !!!
Belated Happy Birthday, Banks.
Been putzing around in the train room, in between time spent getting vehicles sorted out. We now have 5 sitting around here! Got our older 2002 Buick up for sale, and have an interested person on that. The plan is to end up with 4, Chris has 2, a 2007 FJ Cruiser, and 2007 Mini Cooper. Kay has 2013 Explorer, and I have the 87 El Camino.
Going to go to 50 year High School this coming weekend. The organizers have a fantastic web site supporting the event. What has been disturbing is at least a couple times a week posts are made regarding Memorial messages for those that have passed on. Can't believe how many classmates did NOT return from Viet Nam!! Sometimes makes you feel guilty that you did return. But, looking forward to the event, looks like the attendee list is going to have A LOT of cotton top ladies!
Prayers for all those in need, and stay healthy and be safe!
Don

rt - Only the best wishes for you on your surgery.
Well, looks like a cousin isn't taking the layout after all. Wifey asked what I was gonna do now. Reduce everything down to benchwork and take with me.
Hey, wood ain't cheap these days...
Good evening all,
Quiet but busy day at work. Good weather for walk. Traffic was a bite both ways. Lost a close game 2-1 tonight. Did not have to play whole game. Had good supper at Fazzolis. Got an email from my Norwegian soccer friend, which always cheers me up. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Evening all, Been a while and a lot has happened. Went to my Doc as was running high temp evening/night. After some blood work she gave me some antibiotics to fight a virus I had. well come last tuesday morning I get a call from my DR. to goto the V.A. hospital. They did a throat camera thing and said my leads to my difibrillator had infection and they had to come out and so does the difibrillator. Well today at the university of Augusta medical center did it again and there saying it looks like I also need a new valve on one side. So we are looking at open heart surgery.
Will try to keep you all up to date

First off, Do good and hang in there RT!!!!
Long day, went with Brian to pick up his Bobcat and then we both worked on the clean-up of the lane north end, Looks good and we pushed it back at least 3' on each side, He has a huge burn pile now. Brought home the John Deere and removed the grader and loader and installed the 72" mower deck. So back to grass for now.
Stopped at the Dr office and let them check my heart rate and BP. BP was good but heart rate is still over 90 so he is thinking of adding more of the new pills but I talked him out of it for a week or so. Still can't sleep so we will try something else for 3 days and if that don't work something else. Bummer getting up dead tired.
Otherwise life is getting better, bit by bit.
Good afternoon everyone,
RT - Prayers for a successful surgery.
Saturday morning, one of the Staff here in our Section became a first time ***GRANDFATHER***, the grandchild is a really good looking baby BOY. Grandpa is also a fellow Veteran, US Army, he is also a wonderful friend of mine, going on 15 years.

Aloha and happy Monday.
Celebrate with me! My middle boy got a job. He's trained as an EMT but will be driving a med transport van for a big private outfit. At least he's in the door.
Kev, thought of you this weekend helping a friend dump and rake gravel in the rain on his driveway - nothing the length of your road. Hope RT is feeling better. Bob, that would be cool to have a large temporary layout of your old O gauge stuff. My condolences on the loss of your friend Roy! That's a neat tradition. Happy belated birthday Banks! I see the Bears are picking up the losing tradition of my beloved White Sox. . . Thanks for the update about the club videos, SJ. I love them.

Hello all
Slept on the futon in the bus last night. Was great. More work today on the a/c unit, but not quite buttoned up yet.
Moved the kitchen table today. And Clawde, so the flag has officially been transferred:)
Drove the Corvan tonight. Will give the Datsun a much needed rest. It really wants an alternator. Friday is payday so I will treat it then. I swear that little truck sneezed today while starting it. Backfired and blew a couple vacuum caps off an unused port assembly on the manifold I put on a while back. I pulled it off and put it a threaded plug.
Doug - I forgot that the new USS New York had the twin towers in the crest. Very cool. Hard to believe it has been 15 years.
Gene is ok w/ me making a display of my remaining O-gauge stuff down at the barn. Will be less stuff to pack up and will be nice to still be able to see it. Plus I can set up 20,000 square feet of temporary track at night...:)

Did a 4.3 mile walk to start prepping for the 2017 Mini. No recorded time as the app on my phone creates a vacuum. Next time old reliable stop watch. Proper tools for the proper job.... Built with my American Plastic Bricks. Much, much quicker than LEGOS. Trip to new parish facility ( I hesitate to call that monstrous waste of money a church ) made me even more angrier today. I am not sure if I can go there any more. May look around at other parishes or become a wandering Catholic.... As regards to an exit strategy, heart attack on the soccer field is my preferred means of departure. I hope everyone has a good day.
fifedog KRM - I can. Roy - Kinda like a Joe Diffy song. Sorry just the same. Banksie--->

Good for you FIFE, How will that work out once you move? Kind of what happened to us. I still see a few as long as I make the drive back to the old home grounds.
Running the tens unit for the third time today. It helped my arms a lot yesterday.. Had my butt on the tractor for about two hours this morning cleaning up brush that Brian our neighbor and his friend cut down up at the north end. Still a mess to pick up but I only got what I could from the seat of the tractor. I sure like that grapple I added to the bucket!!! Then Brian and I hauled two garage work benches to Katie's for Dan and his brother Matt's places.
A few beers and dinner and lay back tonight.
My son picked up the bird yesterday. Funny I didn't think about him too much when he was here but when he left, his absense affected me more. I think I was getting used to him and he was good company. Now I have to get used to just me again.
Went to TTOS train meet and saw some bargains in the auction. They sold three of the MTH Heritage diesel units. I think they were dash 8's or whatever the modern term is but the Rio Grande unit went for $200, the SP Daylight version was $200 also but the Western Pacific only brought $150. These were all brand new in the original boxes and never run. Saw a prewar O gauge crane car go for $50 in nice shape. Today was bargain day. Makes me wonder what my on modern stuff would bring. Probably be better to sell it all to a dealer and bite the bullet. Otherwise you would have to haul it to meets ad infinitem. Older MTH was going for give away prices. Well at least I got my money's worth of pleasure out of it.

Roy, Prayers for your friend's loved ones. SO sad but I can't think of a better way to go than in your sleep.
Nice you can stil get with friends from 30 years back still.
Afternoon all!
It was a great weekend and a sad weekend. A bunch of us guys, most of whom have known each other for 30+ years, get together every year for long weekend of boating, skiing, wakeboarding, waverunner rides (we did 140 miles this year), etc., dinners out and BBQs (Did I mention beer, etc., adult beverage consumption?). Had a great time. But one of the gang died in his sleep Fri night. His family is taking it well and we continued the event in his honor as it is what he would have wanted and it was one of his favorite annual things. Services should be later this week or next. Bittersweet and prayers for his family.
I told the group when I go to put some of my ashes in a beer can, stick it in a slalom ski, put a couple of fireworks on it, set the ski on fire, and drag it around the lake for me.
Have a great day all!
HAPPY BIRHDAY BANKS.....
9/11 remembered.
Good morning,
I will never forget the clear sky of 9-11, Such a nice day for such a thing to happen.
Demay - Wouldn't it be something if after player(s) acted in such manner, that all in attendance simply stood up, and walked out...?
And didn't return the following week...?
Never forgetting.
The trip to Berlin went well and I returned on Friday afternoon. The weekend has been nice but we still have boxes to unpack. Tomorrow, I fly to Italy for a few days for work.
This evening could be interesting. It is the 15th anniversary of 9/11 and I wonder how many people will truly take a moment to reflect. I wonder how many even care. I am reading articles about entire NFL teams using today as an oppurtunity to protest by not standing for National Anthem and I'm not sure if I should feel anger, disbelief, or disappointment. I know it is there right to do so but it is still hard for me to see. If all these protest predictions come true I believe my NFL-watching days are about to end.
Take care,
Joe
Reffed an exciting 0-0 tie this morning. One coach was upset that we waved off a goal because the ball did not completely clear the end line, but there is no crossing the plane rule in soccer. Grandkids' games called due to weather and maybe the fields not being ready. Mowed yard instead. Rested rest of day. Jim, in this case, the message has to go from the head to the feet. It is highly unlikely what I wrote will even minimumly affect the result, but it does let them know I am thinking of them. I hope everyone has a good day.
Nine-Eleven:
Can't believe that it has been 15 years.
We were working the election in New York City when the towers were hit.
Some images and memories of that day have begun to fade but not the thought of those we knew and those we didn't who were lost. So sad.
May they rest in peace.
