Good Morning Boys & Girls !
Walk done now it's time to contemplate what's for breakfast.
Thought I would drop in this morning, will be spending a lot of time in the kitchen today prepping for tomorrow. We will be at the museum tomorrow and even though we will be operating it will also be a 4th of July B-B-Q for us and our spouses.
Will be busy the rest of the day so I thought I'd post this link for tomorrow. An oldie but a goodie:

Penny Trains Aloha! Went to the flea market at Hartville Ohio today and came back with a rebuilt KW for 55 bucks. The guy also had a ZW priced at $115, but 190 watts is enough for my 4 by 6!

Becky,
That sounds like a really good deal for the KW. Thought about you when I was in Mantua, Ohio buying my newest toy.
Jim,
I finally got that SIT 322 done. Oh, I also found a Flyer set that I bought in October before everything went down. It's got a 316 K5 pulling a red 918 mail car and 950 pullmans.
Hope everyone is doing well. Been working a crazy amount of overtime.
Jim
Good Morning from cool (60F) Southern Ohio
It is overcast and calling for rain. We’ve got the whole house fan on and the house is nice and cool too. We’ll turn it off and close up the windows here in a bit. Got all the grass cut yesterday and made a modification to the chicken palace to keep the chicks out of the nesting boxes.
Penny - You did good on the transformer. You comment reminded me of the Christmas layout from this past year. It was 5 x 8 and powered by the 22090 (350 watts) my daughter gave me.
Mike - What do you use for weeds?
Kev - How is the back feeling? You’re in my prayers.
May God bless
Pancakes this morning, as there is a need to do a grocery run. It's also incredibly humid.
Good evening all,
Sprayed the weeds again and edged the sidewalks. Did some trimming as well. Did 3.6 miles in 56:49 today, almost a 3.8 MPH pace. Watched the Indy 11 get a draw tonight. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Trains, trains, wonderful trains. The more you get, the more you toot!
Good Afternoon from beautiful Southern Ohio
Mid 70’s and sunny.
I went up to Centerville and celebrated Mass at the Church camp the kids were. They had a fantastic experience, and the Mass was especially beautiful.
Kev - Please take it easy and heal, then when allowed gwt back into the swing. IMHO I’d leave the set as is, it looks good to me.
Banks - Great looking family
Don - Sounds like the layout is working well
Time to cut some more grass.
Started July 4th weekend by sleeping late. Did my chores this morning but still haven't had breakfast yet as of 10:00AM.
Looked at a website called trainorders.com and watched pics from a guy who rode all the new light rail lines and Amtrak around L.A. Looks like you can really get around the L.A. area now One of these days I'd like to ride it to the beach in Santa Monica.
Don, glad you're on the level again.

HAPPY 4th WEEKEND !!!!
Been awhile since I posted, (my bad). Sure sorry to see all the pain and stuff Kev has been going through! Glad to see you got to the Dr and only have a prognosis of discomfort for a couple of weeks or worse case months. I find it so amazing how the body mends itself, time consuming but miraclous.
Speaking of mending, I finally got the Drs convinced and approvals for a built up right shoe, 3/4". Boy, does it ever make a difference! I feel level, balanced, and stand/walk so much better. My gait has even picked up. Kay and her mom have commented I am walking like I use to.
Only have had a couple of "emergency" calls on the Dr's layout since I finished it. He and his son, were a little upset that it wasn't working right. (One track was shorting out the transformer, and also none of the accessories were working.) Went out there and found a small brad wedged between the center rail and base of a Bascule bridge, causing the short. They were doing some scenery stuff and lost the brad. The accessories were not working because one of the bricks for the ZW-C transformer was unplugged from the power strip. So they were somewhat embarrassed, but thankful. The Dr wants me to come out and do some training classes for the two of them, (with pay). So I dont have a problem with that. Even though I have provided him with a User's manual, and also a detailed wire list of every wire on the layout. Neither one of them has any background with electrical or electronics. The son is a "Intellectual Properties" attorney. The son mad mention that he would bring his phone to record the entire session. Well that's not going to happen! No recording! As a matter of fact, I wanted to do a last update to the manual and wire list, so in doing that, I am going to include plenty of "Proprietory and Confidential" statements on the entire document.
On a lighter note, with my free time now, I've been working on my layout. Installing a Signal Bridge with 4 sets of lights (both directions), a dwarf signal, AND modifying my switches to non-derail. Getting all the isolated track sections and ground signals function in all the right places has been fun. Especially keeping them apart from one another. (Dont want a light to go on and the switch changes.)
Ray, dont feel guilty about a day off! You certainly deserve it.
Banks, those are really great pictures, looks like a good time!
V8, I think you got that A/C done just in time, it will definetly be used soon.
Hope EVERYONE has a wonderful and Safe weekend!!!!
Don
Banks, a nice collection of kiddies there.
All have a safe holiday.

Went to the Indiana State Museum today. Weather was nice. Mowed the yard when I got home. KRM, I know what you mean about the pain meds. As far as the restore or not question, I have had some restoration work done on common pieces but a Zephyr.....????? Not so sure. I hope everyone has a good day.
Good evening all !
Good day at the museum operations wise, just be glad when the medics ever get it figured out with my issues.
The DCS was upgraded to Rev 5.0 so I put it to test a SD70 Ace Triple header. She never skipped a beat during her every other hour runs and my Atlas SD35 Triple header ran just as well.
Fife, Don't confuse which doc you are going to on any given day, could be embarrassing. Uke time: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pLgJ7pk0X-s
Not much else need to rustle-up some grub.
The drug is working SJ, thanks! What I hate about drugs are they cover the pain and you tend to do more than you should so it slows the healing process.
Here is a closer picture of the engine as I got it. The Observation car paint is better and the chrome is good on all but one vestiblue.

Kev, From The North Bluff Above Marseilles IL.
Kev I'm glad you finally went to the doctor. Repaints always lower the value. So unless it's really bad I wouldn't paint.
Weekend is here and Log-in is acting up again. It must be on a timer.
KRM Afternoon Guys, Back from Doctor visit. Told me I am pretty much screwed for two week to two months. Gave me some heavy pain meds called NORCO. Just took one so we will see if it is worth anything soon. Using my Tens unit to help with the pain as well. tinplatacis, My parts from the Train Tender show out for delivery so I will have some light duty train work I can do on the pre-war Flying Yankee set. This set is in fair shape and could be made to look real good if I did a repaint but I don't know if it will add or remove value by painting it? This one is ready for a tender and it will be good to go.

tinplatacis,

If you're asking my opinion on whether to repaint or not, best I can tell you is that I 'bash all sorts of common stuff, but I have not seen many of those Yankees. The way I see it, if it has more than 70% of the paint still, leave it be.
Been a while since I looked here. I have built a lovely boxcab diesel and refurbished a bad Marx CV since then, and really am curious to see whatall everyone else has been up to.
Happy July1st all,
Had breakfast out this AM with train buddies. Going to see Helen for lunch. Gave myself permission to stay home yesterday.
Dr. apt at 11:20 at last!
be good
I thought about starting the pot around 11pm because I wanted a donut with my oatmeal, but thought I'd let his majasty have the honor.
After 2 weeks of dry, we finally got some rain overnight. 80s today.
Yes RT, we had a big rain late last night. Another reason I was late to the Pot. Dogs had to go out and back in. Deer to feed too. Quit raining about midnight.
Why don't you start the new Pots each month. You visit here more than I do.
Fifey, get well.
All have a good one. Suppose not to have any Mayoring duties today [we'll see].
Later.

Mornin' boys. Sunny & humid in the Mid-Atlantic region. Got some "moments" in the dentist chair ahead of me, as now I'm dealing with a gum issure. (it's either one end or the other...)
TGIF - y'all enjoy your weekend.

No I didn't was waiting for midnight. Busy on the computer. Seems some fuss if I post too soon. Just like a Carpetbagger.
Seeing that the thread is started, I will jump in at the second position on the grid.
Seeing the chief slept thru the posting time. I'll start it for him.
