Good evening all,

Very quiet day at work.  Pain one AND pain two were both gone.  Worked tonight to get furniture moved for carpet people tomorrow.  Hot earlier today, but raining now.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Good morning from a better North Bluff,

71 heading to 82 with 32% humidity, Might be able to get some outside work done today. Need to finish trimming the forest back from the lane from my drive turn off to Moo and Oink's house. About 500' then if the wind don't come up spray the weeds in the drive and around the shed.Still need to wash the logs around the house garage dooes so I can prep and re-stain that area.

Good Morning,

Jim, thanks for the very kind comments.  It was a pleasure showing you around!

Ray, Congrats on the new computer!  That is awesome!  Sure hope those fires dont throw off embers eastward!  There were even a couple of small fires in the Long Beach area, (405 fwy @ Lakewood Blvd).

Kev, Where in the heck do you get all the energy from?  Your to do list is exhausting.

Think I will work in the train room today, and clean out our shed a bit.  Kay has a new bike we need to make room for.

So Stay Safe and Be Healthy!

Not sure myself, Don.  Laugh I got the trimming done but need to rest up and make lunch then maybe hit the weeds and grarge doors.

I have a hedge trummer that fits on the end of the stihl weed eater. I put it on sideways and just walk along the edge of the woods and lane and trim the brush back by lifting the trimmer up and down. So then the brush don't beat me in the face when I mow the grass strips I have next to the lane. The thing gets heavy very fast. Tongue Tied The lane is 1/2 mile long and has woods up aginst half of it or so.

Good morning all,

Yesterday was a scorcher.  Temp on sign at local bank was 111 at 2:00PM. The fires in the San Gabriel Mountains near us have produced a lot of unhealthy air quality today.  I will have to watch that with my COPD.  The facility where wife is was not far from the Duarte fire.  They were on standby to evacuate yesterday afternoon.  I got a phone call from them so I cancelled my planned visit figuring that I would just be in the way. They have been through this drill before with fires in Azusa Canyon so they have experience with it.  I will try to visit today.

Don, I am enjoying the new computer after looking at computer screen that had turned red on the old one.  Like looking at videos too of trains. The old one couldn't download fast enough.

Took paper work to Rehab place yesterday to satisfy Insurance Company.  Said they would fax it in.  Will follow up later.

Hello there,

been on the run since getting back from the beach. Saturday was drags, two baseball games and a parade. Sunday was Mass, pick up mom from respite, Lunch was steak, shrimp & baked taters followed by a nap and another baseball game. The tuning is helping. Grandson got 1st & 2nd. Also a couple of hits while losing 2 out of 3. Sitting watching the last game of the season .

They are behind 21to 14 ,middle of the 6th . Work is crazy as I expected . I did get reprieve til next week  on a bid that was due today.

V8...I recommend a portable ac unit .They are on wheels and use hoses for intake and exhaust . Make sure you get a dual hose unit .Single hose ones use air you've already cooled to get rid of heat. the 2nd hose brings in outside air to do the cooling .

Started this a couple hours ago .The game ended 21-18. In bed now 5am will come too soon .

Prayers for those in need

Still dry here. Grass is turning brown. I don't like storms, too much damage, but we do need rain. 80s today.

Good morning all,

Went in for blood test this morning and stopped by rehab place to authorize release of information for my Ins. co. for Helen.  Person not there for second time plus I have made numerous phone calls and left messages. Still waiting for call back.#&*%

Still hot but a lot lower temp than Monday.  Helicopters flying over house all morning enroute to the fire. Lot of those big sky crane types carry a lot of water.  Air quality still bad.  I have been wearing a mask outside.

later,

Good evening boys and girls.

Cooled off nicely yesterday, only like 85* after 108* on Sunday & Monday but it did make it to the mid 90' s today. Still beats the stuffins out 100*+.

Monday all my restrictions expired after the angiogram, I was really getting bored to tears. Best thing was getting to drive again !

Packed some stuff for the museum on Friday, will have to see how things go. Kid's Club on Saturday but will have to see how I feel Friday evening and Saturday morning.

Later all.

Good evening all,

Good day at work.  Rain today, but got soccer match in tonight.   We lost, but we finally had substitutes so I did not have to play entire game.  Carpet is done in house.  Wife and I finally agreed on how to enhance kitchen cabinets with trim and pulls.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Kind of a rough night on The North Bluff.
Stuff all over the place but we did pretty good.

Way worse than I thought, Our neighbor next to Brian lost the east end of their new roof and his shed out back is flat, It was falling down anyhow but it is flat now. Most of it is in Lonnie and Brian's front yard big trees down to. Down the road there is a house with no roof at all but in town all is well. I have not gone east where they said it touched down but for sure it went right over Moo and Oink's and Brian.

Guess I will clean up when I get home from up north. See ya all in a few days.

Mornin' Fellas

Been crazy around here! Got the computer back from Geek Squad. They were able to get it to load, but had a bunch of other issues and I just ended up backing up the main drive, reinstalling Windows7 then reinstalling Windows10 and all of the necessary applications. Found a lot of applications were installed that were no longer needed and the result is the computer runs A LOT FASTER!

Was on vacation in Jamaica last week with the family. Went to Beaches Ocho Rios and had a blast. Kids loved all the Sesame Street activities, swimming, water slides, etc. Food was great, company even better. While we were in the airport in Montego Bay we ran into our adoption attorney! Go figure, haven't seen her in 3 years (since Mattew's adoption) and we go a 1,000 miles from home and run into her in an airport in a foreign country. Small World.

The day before we left I was at the immedicate care facility due to my feet being swollen, dr couldn't determine why, so he put me on a steriod for the vacation. Got back and no change. Actually worse now than when we left, Dr appt tomorrow to get it sorted. I think it may be a serious side-effect of my BP med (it is listed on their site), very concerning.

Good evening all,

Hot in SE Indiana.  Walk today really wore me out.  Maybe should not do that anymore in this heat.   Work was quiet.  Went to see "Now You See Me 2" tonight.  Good flick.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Got to aching last night late.  Chills.  Temp and aching this AM.  Went to Dr.  Met another new lady Dr. today as mine was on vacation. Blood test showed high white count. She sent me to WakeMed Main ER. Was lucky. Lady that is government liaison is like a daughter to me. She greased the skids. 5 minutes in waiting room. Four minutes and in a bed. Three minutes and I had Dr. and nurse [both good and were funny]. Was there 45 minutes. Two bottles [not tubes] of blood from each arm for culture. Urine sample. Tick meds again and oxycodone with Tylenol. I'm stoned. When I was leaving I saw a guy in wheel chair that had been sitting in waiting room before I got there. Bet he was saying, "That cracker Mayor got in and is gone before I got in."

Good afternoon,

Went to foot doctor, then a visit with Helen for two and a half hours then back home. Been thinking about taking a day at the ocean and stay overnight and drive back the next day.  I don't like driving at night but hotel prices are pretty steep as you would imagine anywhere near the ocean in the summertime.  I have a model railroad friend who lives a lot closer to the ocean than me so he suggested I just drive to his house and then we could do an outing with him and his wife and return same day.  Then I would only have to drive maybe 35 minutes after dark.  I'll have to think about it.  I was really thinking about getting away by myself and spend some time at the ocean to clear out the cobwebs. The hotel I was thinking of is about $88 in the off season.  Summer rate is about $142-$200 per night. That's pretty pricey just for a place to sleep for 8 hours.  I don't need any amenities.

Fires near us are more under control now but still have lingering smoke in the air and bad air quality.

I think I'll get in the pool.

Chief, good luck with your medical issues.  Prayers!

Ray

Good Afternoon all from muggy Southern Ohio

TGIF

It has not rained since about 0930, but is has been overcast.

Gabriel and I finished the Chicken Palace and moved 6 baby broilers into the coop.  He is enjoying the work and the chicks.

Today is my bride’s birthday and we are going out for dinner then had homemade lemon pie.  I bought her a new chain for the cross she wears.

Brent - I hope the swelling is not serious

Kev - Thank God you had minimal damage.

Chief - Hope you are feeling better

Dennis - I’m glad you can get cooled off now.

Good night and may God bless

Mornin' boys.  Sunny & 71 in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Well, we just dropped price on Fifedom for the third time, hope that's the charm.  Buyers around here just seemed determined to spend 150K more for new construction...  Fifepup has slipped far below Reb lines in search of full-time employment.

Chief - get well soon.

88 - Hopefully not that flesh-eating bacteria that's on the news. Surprise

Banks - news is reporting unhealthy water in Rehobeth this week, fyi.

Angel for those losing everything in West Virginia.

Evening all. Been a long day. Hope all are having a good day. Extended my walk this am by double the time but not sure double the distance lol. I figured as the longer I walked I probably slowed down more. Sad so instead of my 2.3 miles in 45 minutes I'm thinking maybe 3.5 miles in 1 1/2 hrs. it was to much either way lol. I need to go back to what I normally do. It was also hottest day so far for me.

Boy it sure was a nice day other than heat and humidity though.Hope all had a good day, talk to you all later

Good evening from hot beautiful Southern Ohio,

No rain today but it did get to 90+.  Got quite a bit of grass cut, and started cleaning up the garage getting rid of all the sawdust.  I was using my shop vac blower to blow out the sawdust and it flat quit.  Later this evening I tore it apart and the was a thermal overload or fuse link that melted.  I can’t find the piece but I wonder is I put in an inline fuse link.  When I jumper the fuse link she works.  I figure a 15a fuse link should do it.  I keep you posted on the fix.

Chief - The chicken palace is what we’ve named the chicken coop and run Gabriel and I built for his 4-H chicken project.  It turned out neat.  Fancier than what Mary expected.

Good night and may God bless

Morning.  Slept until 9 AM.  Unheard of here.  Prescription strength Motrin.

Jim, that is a great project.  Glad he is in 4H.  Kids seem to not be cool to be in 4H and FFA now days.  Will not tell Wifey as she has always wanted chickens.  So far, none.  I know who will have to take care of them.

Prayers for WV.
