They are all gone,,,,,,,All 14 of them 4 of them under 6,,,,,,,,,,,I am still alive.

We all sat in the train room/basement and the trains ran as we ate. It was fun and something different for most that were here. Most trains are intact some smaller things on the edges did not fair so well. Eight Little hands. Surprise So not bad for a 4 hour nuthouse. Smile

One more thing to be thankful for.   Yes

Got to pack and bath and crash.

Thanks for the up-date on JimmyT Charlie. I was wondering if he got hitched yet. Guess he never replied to Bill's e-mail from what he sent me.

Hello there,

I echo what Sir James said

Spent most of the day helping Mrs in the kitchen

The gang came and ate. A good time was had by all.We sat  for the 3rd annual Thanksgiving family photo.

Family

As I was cropping this and getting ready to upload it occured to me that we left a space for Pap. Not intentionally but there it is. Just didn't seem right without him but I didn't say much because I was afraid of Mom's reaction

Best get t bed. Much cleanup remains for tomorrow

Prayers for those in need

Good evening all,

A good day was had by all.  Everybody brought food and everybody helped cleaned up so it was not a major burden on anyone.  All those who saw the train room for the first time were impressed.   I ran trains for the one grandson who still likes them.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Hope all had a good Thanksgiving. Been a nice quiet day here. Got a 8770 Electromotive Division NW2 Switcher it ran a rough took it apart cleaned it and it runs great. Need to get a decortive horn for it and put a 18V bayonette ( in the wite plastic) lightbulb so it doesn't light as well as it should but at least it now does light up. Not bad for a $20 engine including shipping.

Evening all,

I am back on night shift.  All is quiet and hopefully it will remain that way.  There are lots of leftovers in the refrigerators if anyone should get hungry.  One of the guys wants the storm door I took down for one of his outbuildings. Good for both of us.

Bride and I went to Mass this morning then had a nice Thanksgiving dinner.  The kids are beat and glad to be home.

Doug – Thanks I’ll try and stick around for a while.  Even without a layout trains are fun

Mike C – You have a good point; “Modern Era” is kind of a sliding scale, but I think I’ll stick with the ‘60’s and earlier train stuff.

RT – It does feel good to take a piece and get it running again!

Good Night and may God bless

A quick check-in

Rain and 55 this morning. Pots, pans and dishes are clean but lots of other things to put away before the house looks normal again..

Happy Thanksgiving.

Antique cars in IL must be 25 years old last I knew. At least to get a Antique plate.  Classic on the train front I guess it is up to you. I am not sure if classic has anything to do with antique. A new Mustang Shelby or the new Dodge Hellcat are conisdered classic right out of the factory.

So for CTT I would think they can show what they want. Now if it was Antique Toy Trains then that would be a whole other thing.

Lots to get ready for tomorrow. Going to host 14 hungry people. Then it is up to deer camp on Black Friday.

Enjoy the holiday and be safe.

RT, did you ever hear back from JimmyT?

Kev,

Morning all!

Had a great day yesterday with family and drop ins for dessert.

Assume it is pretty quiet here this morning because you all headed out at 3am for black Friday door busters.

V8 - good luck on the Integra parts - admission charge and a line at the junk yard - that's interesting?

Have a great day all!

Good evening all,

A quiet day.  Went to see Creed.  This is a very good movie that I highly recommend.   It does justice to the prior Rocky movies while leaving the possibility open for a new series down the road.   Weather is still mild but rainy.  Jim, good to see you back.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Good Morning from warm (56F) and wet Southern Ohio.

Really nice Friday afternoon. Raked leaves when I got up. Brought the old storm door in to work for my friend in my truck, an '03 Crew Cab Duramax Dually and it turned 75,000 on the way into work.

The train show is downtown this weekend. I plan on getting up a little early go see whats there then down to the inlaws and bride's family for dinner, then into work. Maybe next year I'll be off and at least be able to set up one of my All Aboard American Flyer panel layouts. The All Aboard Sets were such a neat idea, too bad it was being introduced just as Gilbert AF was fading out.

May God bless

Winding down from Thanksgiving.  We went out to eat this year.  Food was not as good as home but loved being able to walk away from it.

Oldest son and Family came over last night.  Brought a lot of food and stayed for the evening.  Watched Home Alone and My Cousin Vinny.  funny movie.

My friend from church is already trying to promote dinner out tonight.  He is just lonesome I guess.  I don't feel up to it right now.  May feel more like it later.  I told him that eating out with my wife's dementia problems is no longer fun for me but I don't think he gets it.  It's a job for me getting her ready and then she never knows what she wants.  I have to order for her.

Nurse came this morning to look at wife's post op wound.  Everything looks OK.  Will see the doctor on Monday.

Ran trains yesterday for about 5 minutes.  Track needs cleaning before I do more.

later,

Ray

Good evening all,

Tired.  Rainy day.  Watched a great English Premiere League match between Leicester City and Manchester United which ended in a 1-1 tie.   Worked on taking apart an old TV cabinet we had used for years as a TV stand after the original TV went poof.   None of the kids wanted it and we no longer needed it and it was taking up space.  Also brought down all the Christmas decorations.  Did I say I was tired?   I hope everyone has a good day.

Evening all from cool (mid 50’s) wet Southern Ohio.

Never made it to the train show today.Maybe tomorrow, we’ll see how soon I can get to bed after Mass in the morning.

The kids, my bride and I went to MIL’s house for Thanksgiving Dinner with bride’s side of the family.A reminder to me that I got the cream of the crop!

I rearranged the furniture in the living room and assembled the tree while watching OSU play Michigan. They played much better today that the previous two weeks. The kids and bride are to start the lights after Church tomorrow.I’m thinking of putting a two rail and a three rail loop under the tree this year. The decorating has begun!

Ray – Glad to hear the surgery site is healing.A testimony to your nursing care!

Mike – I think a lot of those old consoles became a place to sit the TV after the original TV died.

Good night and may God bless,

Jim

706-733-0188  ask for CU Unit and then Rifenberry.

Prayers for RT.

Been hunting down east.  Lots of does and small bucks.  Nothing I wanted to shoot since last Sat. morning was week ago.  Shot big bodied buck.  Not good deer hunting weather.  70's everyday and wet.  Not suppose to be hunting in shirt sleeves last of Nov.

Morning/afternoon all!

Still raining here. In the high 30's/low 40's since Thurs night. Beat the highest ever recorded record by 4" so far this year. Over 12" at the house since Thurs. Banks, all the rain coming at once 3-4 times this past year is not helping the ground water at this time - just run off - fills the lakes is all. So the house foundation is still off kilter.

Chief returns!

Lazy day today as nasty outside. Watching some recorded new season Railroad Alaska shows.

RT - Angel

Old sure shot Chief bagged another one.  Congratulations.  Probably been colder here lately than in your neck of the woods.

Ate out last night with wife, one son and friend from church.  Brought half of it home.  Steak not cooked enough.  Will finish the job myself.

Getting ready for church now.

Evenin' boys.  Damp & 46 here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Slipped away to WV to spend Thanksgiving with my folks, sister and nephew.  Didn't see any trains out that way.  Went to the Toy Show at YORK today, and only returned home with a rather nice MARX 74 semaphore (all metal version) for $10.

Best wishes to rt on his surgery.  Thanks Chief.

Good evening all.

Been cooking all day, making a boat load of cookies for the BetterHalf. She has a fundraiser coming up this week for Rady's Children's Hospital and I was volunteered to be the CookieMan. Surprisingly only 4 didn't make it to the cookie boxes. Whistling

Yesterday was my veg-out day, spending fridays at the museum seems to really wear me out. Don't know how some of you guys do all that you do.

Will be heading down to the museum tomorrow to finish up the Christmas decorations, need to get it all done for this coming weekend's "Christmas on the Prado". Saturday will be a very long day, hopefully I don't fall asleep. Need to check with IT and see if they will activate the webcams for Friday's and Saturday's events, normally they are only active from 11am~4 or 5pm depending on the day of the week.

Prayers for RT, didn't realize he had an ICD.  Mine has been silent so far (this is me knocking on wood Bang Head). For RT Angel Thumbs UpThumbs Up. Wonder if he has access to a laptop ?

Gettin' tired, time to sign off.

Good night all.

Evening all from cool (mid 40’sF) and cloudy Southern Ohio.

Chief – Thanks for word about RT – I will include special intentions for him during my evening/night prayers.

You are right about deer hunting in shirt sleeves; you are suppose to be cold and miserable.

Roy – haven’t you been fighting foundation issues for a while now?

Fife – The Marx tin has a real appeal and it is robust.I’ve bought a few Marx trains and they are easy to fix and comparatively inexpensive.

Dennis – I mounted the TV about 6 foot to the center of the screen, but it is the old part of the house and there are 9 foot ceilings.I fished the cords and wires through the wall using two holes and grommets because it was not difficult and does look neater than hanging. Yes I am a little OCD when it comes to wiring.

Doug – Congratulations on the self-control with the cookies.Cookies are my downfall, especially homemade cookies. What did you make?

I’ll start putting the lights up Monday when I get up.If dry I’ll work outside, if wet inside.Kids and bride will be at school so there will be fewer distractions.

Good night and may God bless, especially RT

Try again tomorrow.  He is being transferred to hospital next door on Tuesday.  VA does not do that type of surgery.  Surgery Wednesday.  Seems he was in his garage when he heard this "French sirene" going off.  He them realized it was in his chest.  It was the alarm that he had a problem.  He can't use his laptop nor his cell.  He is bored.  Conversation is good.  He can't call out LD.

He is in CCU.  I got through around 6:30 tonight.

Later.

Mornin' boys.  Light rain and 43 here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  When I'm not babysitting, gonna have to sequester myself in the garage to get the layout done.  The first trial begins in the city today, and I certainly didn't want to still be here for that...Sigh

Aloha from what looks to be a pleasant Chicago though it's still dark. Looks like Kev and I will be getting some rain... All the snow vanished by Thur. SJ, do you still have snow?  Back at work after a nice Thanksgiving. My daughter and husband came down and her presence is like a tornado but a good one - full of Black Friday shopping, college football and late night movies.

I too struggled with the xmas lights - replacing a bulb here and there to try to get a string working. Then finally caught up the entire 'ball' and threw them out (in the proper bin to get specially recycled of course). I gave the son-in-law some money and sent him out to buy more lights. And now I'm much happier. Big Smile I picked up the latest CTT - whilst I am much more of a runner, I am so impressed with what can be done in our scale.

MikeC, your comment on IS automation made me grin. Smile. It's an ongoing issue in my world where the ideal is not quite ready for reality.  Creed is such a good movie - if you liked the original Rocky, you would love this film. The LC - ManU game was very good. I watched a lot of 'football' this weekend.
Ray, a belated happy 56th anniversary to you and your bride!
Fife, we avoided certain parts of Chicago this weekend, like I would avoid B'more today.
tinplat, I love working in paper and cardstock for items on the layout. Have you ever seen http://thortrains.net - that's my inspiration.
Dennis, Tribune Publishing gave buyouts to all their senior people - most of the columists and reporters I've admired in the Chicago Trib are gone. Of course, I'm the only one my age who still reads the paper so I can see their problem...
RT, praying for you. Chief, thanks for the heads-up.
JimT, praying for you too.

Sun but chilly out. Doug the snow was gone from here in about 2 days. The pavement was warm enough that I didn't even have to shovel.

The club video is posted @ Detroit3railers or OGR. We sell nothing, we don't even have club dues.
