Anybody had any trouble with mth steamers going thru gargraves 54 inch switches?
Never had any MTH but I have been told Gargraves switches can be tricky if not laying perfectly flat I have ross switches I had some Gargraves at one time on a non complete layout and didn't have any problems

They also do not like some postwar Lionel, engines with slide shoe pickups and cars with the sliding shoe for the electromagnet style couplers from the early postwar era. Ross switchs are far better. Mike

Sounds like a smart move to me.
I have bought 2 Ross switches to date and will buy more as I put up my new layout. Also got a new engine(new to me) for my layout, a Weaver C-630 diesel with QSI sound system, replaced the ni-cad battery as well.
