Good evening all,

Great day at work and at home.   All the windows are now installed.  Waiting for siding to get done so they can install the screens so we can actually use the windows.   Weather is nice.  Went to see latest Mission Impossible.  It is what I expected.   Brent, prayers for you and your family.  Been down the job search path.  It creates a vacuum at times.  Hope Christina is not seriously bad with that.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Good morning all,

Prayers for Christina.  Hope it's not too bad.

Hot!  Yesterday was about 102 I think but temp in dressing area near pool was 106.  Probably the same in the garage.  Hope my train electronics can survive.  They have so far for many years.

Plan to attend memorial service today for an old friend who passed away while on vacation in Ohio.

later,

Ray

Hello there,
Prayers for Christina & Brent.
John…..mom report???
RT ………good luck with the move
Jimmy T……how’s the Flyer stuff coming?
Rich…..the house hunt will work out.
Kev..........belated Happy B-Day
Fife…..Model Rocketry was my other hobby as a teenager. Also for a year or two when my kids were little. Great fun. You got a place to fly them?  Also I did a little checking on the tiller. That’s a fair price but not a bargain. I may make him an offer if it’s still available during York
Been really crazy here. Mostly work related but stuff at home too. Spent 3 days last weekend running hayride at Parish Festival. This weekend hope to work towards getting the old Oliver back in one piece.
I ordered 8 ton of  coal for Mom’s house the other day. They offer a discount in August to get it in before the rush.
Son cut oats last weekend. A so so crop. Soy beans and corn are struggling. Way to much rain early so they have no deep roots. No significant rain since we were at the beach mid July. Feast or famine as they say.
Prayers for those in need

At the Honda dealership with the GF's car....

Brent..Prayers, buddy...Love and perserverance will win out.  And you got both, my friend!

House thing still in limbo, I'm sticking to my original offer...there will be others....

Put a down payment on a NEW CNJ Camelback LionChief Plus.  The used MTH Proto 1 Camelback was interesting at $295, but it's Proto 1....

Roadrunner back at the place where the alignment went bad....they will handle it, I can only do this everyother weekend...lol!!

Trying to book a flight to see my Princess in October...Frontier WAS cheaper, now with all the bagage fees, TWICE as much as the big airlines...

Kev - Happy Belated...

Aloha. Sunny, hot and humid today. I earned my sailing card this morning! Whilst I screwed up rigging the test boat from scratch, but I think I redeemed myself 'soloing'  I think if I rent only rigged boats for the rest of my life I will be fine. Smile

Today's the bride's first day back at work. Hope she survived.

Rich, that sounds like a great purchase...

Praying for Brent's job search and Christina.

Banks, I was into model rocketry too when I was younger. I remember inadvertently shooting my bigger rockets off in the local airport's landing pattern. Does your mom's house burn coal for heat?

Good Evening!

It has been a busy week. The latest news on Mom is that what she thought was a lump caused by her bladder, is the rectum prolapsing again. The surgeon showed her how to put it back, but she eventually may need the bag. Home now, relaxing with my wife after a nice dinner out.

Brent: Prayers for Christina that she overcomes the arthritis. Prayers for your job situation.

Kev, Happy Belated Birthday.

Doug: Congrats on your seamanship.

SP Ray: Continued prayers for your wife and for you. Hope you feel better.

Fife: You are having too much fun at Fifepop's Camp! Your set sounds cool.

Banks: The crops are the same here.

Rich: Good luck with the cars and the house.

Dennis: Good luck with the new car.

Enjoy the Weekend!

Good evening guys,

 Thanks for the B-day things.

Got home about an four ago, spent the whole day and got 7 loads of gravel. Same amount a semi could do in 2 loads. Glad my time is worth nothing. Went to the Moose to eat.  So now we are back from the Moose, full of beer and food. tired,

Where else can you have two dinners of jumbo shrimp and all the fixings for $17.50?? And $1.75 16 oz draft beers? Beer

John, we looked at it all today and figure he is only 1/3 there for gravel around his place. We did 100 ton this week and it will be 200 more ton at least.

Going to hit the tub and then the bed. ;-)

Brent, thinking of your problems, hang in there. Something will change, can't help but to think of all DJ went through to.

Banks, crops here are a bust to.

Night. Zzz

Good evening all,

Good day at work.  Got settled in with new surroundings and unpacked all the items that had been boxed.  Mowed yard tonight.  Siding is done on south side of house and addition.   Only west and north side of addition remain.   Everything looking good.   I hope everyone has a good day.

Wow Brent.  Gone a few days and you give me heart ache.  Prayers for Christina [Remember when you all brought her home.  You were emailing me.].  I feel she will "out grow it".  As for you and a job.  You will bounce back on your feet.

Been real busy for the last few.  Night and day.

Crops are good here.  Thanks to the Lord.

Have a great weekend.

V8, I went through one of those DUI checks a few years ago.  Officer asked me how long it had been since my last drink.  I told him 44 years.  He said OK but thought I was being a smart guy. However,  I was telling the truth.

Hudson John prayers for your mom.  Thanks for the ones for us.

Memorial service yesterday was well attended.  Must have been several hundred people there.  Parking was tough and the heat was bad. Standing room only.  I had to stand for first 45 minutes.  Lots of speakers.  I was worn out by then. Did not stay for the reception since I was not feeling too healthy.  Anyway, he got a great send off.  Had not seen him in several years and didn't realize he had so many friends.  They didn't really need me but I'm glad I went.

Our live in son is flying the coup a lot these days.  Spends most of his spare time with girl friend.  We are alone most of the time.

Ray

Good evening all,

Warm weather today.  I had a real a-------- today as one of the coaches.  His team was up 7-0 and he was complaining the the losing team was tripping and pushing his players.  Hmmm, if the losing team was playing that dirty, how was his team ahead?????  My Achilles tendon was acting up as well so I could forget that game.   Rested most of the day.  Brent, hang in there.   I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Good morning all,

Heat is brutal here especially for older people.  We stayed in house with A/C all day yesterday and only went to the store after dark.  Today will probably be around 104.  My oldest son went to 5:00PM mass last night and gave us a heads up for today.  He said the A/C is broken down at the church.  Thought we would try to make the 10:00AM Mass at another church but don't know if it's a good idea with an 87 year old wife with dementia.  Might just stay home today which is very unusual for us.  We haven't missed as long as I can remember except for sickness.

Saw my first test train running on the new light rail line near us which is due to be completed next month.

Aloha from what looks like to be a beautiful day in downtown Chicago. I spent the weekend cleaning and sealing our old wooden deck. I know I did some other things but I can't remember them. Big Smile  I had all sorts of adventures with this project that would've made a funny silent short movie - like blowing the nozzle off the power-washer, snapping the pole I used for the roller and falling over the furniture and plants as I cleared everything off. But it got done.

Thought of Chuck whilst watching NASCAR on Sat and Sun.
Mike C, I have a stupid question: when your contractor replaced the windows, did they also replace the outside frames?

I can't wait to hear what you say when you find out he's only a mile away from you. But of course in Rosyville that's all the way across town.

Good morning all,

Stayed home yesterday and just watched the Mass on TV.  That's pretty lame but it's better than nothing.  It was too hot for us and I was told the A/C was bad order at church.

My youngest adult son drove a race car at a local track yesterday.  He got a ticket to do it from his girl friend last birthday.  It was a stock car and he got pictures of himself with all the stuff on that they wear.  The on board camera was not working so they gave him another free pass to do it again.  He said he will wait until November.  It was like an oven in the car he said but he was too busy to think about it.

We have another caregiver and patient meetings coming up again tomorrow.  My wife has been looking forward to those outings.  The patients play games and do fun things to occupy the time while the care givers are in a separate meeting.

Turned down invitation to eat out two days in a row from our friend from church.  It was so hot I did not feel like going out.

Touched bases with another friend who attended the memorial service the other day but one that I did not see.  He said there were some people that I would know near the front of the hall but I was in the back.  There were several that I would have liked to see.  Sorry I missed them.

Suppose to be a little cooler today.  I'll take it!

Evenin' boys. A very summer-like 91 in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Wellll, Fifepops camp is over.  We spent the time just chillaxing by the inflatable kiddie pool in the backyard.  The boy wanted to dine on cheese pizza at the corner greasy spoon.  Then we went in and napped in front of the AC.  We did a lot, me and him.  Didn't weigh him down with ABC puzzles, self-esteem building, or even string theory.

But guess whose grandson knows when to chime in with "SALT! SALT! SALT!"?

Yes, I'm accespting applications for next June...

Good evening all,

Sorry I did not post Sunday, but I literally did nothing that day except go to Mass and rest my leg.   Today was just an odd day.   Work went ok...... but nothing to write home about.   High school boys got pounded tonight 12-0.  That is not an American football score.  This is the first year of a rebuilding decade.  Doug M, I can not answer your answer as we are not replacing the existing windows.   I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Good morning,

Hmm, I wonder what happened to the text I had in my last post???? Oh well someday I may figure out these computers. Any way it was about the nutty drive I had for the dealer yesterday. Some of the cars they take to auction can be a trip. You just got to make it fun or you would not do it. Almost like you are in a cartoon.
Woke up to a wet North Bluff.  Got a much-needed rain and it was a nice steady one producing 1.75”
May need to drive again today. Hope it goes better that the drive yesterday.

Aloha. Dodged summer storms yesterday and this morning. We can use the rain. I got my application to fill out for FifeCamp 2016. Wow, there are sure a lot of questions and all the various fees! Anyway, I just know it will be worth it! Big Smile

Did you all see the announcement of the opening of Thomas-The-Tank-Engine-Land?

Dennis, we have the same sort of emissions testing here and special gasoline for high smog areas that means it is extra expensive.

Kev, Speaking of Thomas, how was the IRM on Thomas day?

MikeC, thanks anyway! Hope that contractor finishes up soon.

MIL drama.  She would not go to her eye Dr's apt yesterday.  I was suppose to drive her today.  Calling and trying to delay.  Someone has to put their foot down there.  Not my place.  May go blind in that eye if not attened too.

Mike, if you stay away from that Un-American sport, your leg would be fine. Whistling

Kev, gald you are getting rain.

Hope all have a great day.

Kev, Speaking of Thomas, how was the IRM on Thomas day?

Doug, it was a great time and that place is so neat. The big iron is everywhere, I loved the 4-8-4 Northerns and the articulated steam engines best. The ride was at 3:00PM and I think that helped a lot. Many people were leaving when we got there at 1:30 and by the time we left at 5:00 the place was just about cleared out. They had a lot of places closed off, I am sure for crowd control reasons. So I will be going again when I can walk the whole place without the madness.
They pulled Thomas with a SP GP9 and Percy with the 1918 Baldwin Locomotive Works Frisco  2-10-0 steamer #1630
It took an hour and a half from our place to there.

I put some pictures on SPF yesterday.

Here is a link someone took to the 1630 running at IRM
