Good morning all,

Had dentist check sore spot caused by my lower partial yesterday and he applied some ointment/pain killer but it is no better today.  He called in a presciption this AM and I hope that will help.

We have started walking again, 2 days in a row now.  Feels good and we need it.

RT, I think I will take your advice and hold off for a while.

Ray

Was at one elementary school leading a parade of K and 1st graders around the inside of the building.  Then visiting classes and answering their questions.  You have to remember to do your explanations on their levels.  RT would do fine since that is his level.  Smile, Wink & GrinQuestions like, what is a tax?  Blowing fine rain and temps dropping.

Yanks trying to send me their lousy weather.  fighting back.  Off to eat catfish.

Mornin' All.

Quick drive-by before I have to go for a regular visit to the cardiologist.

Kev, That was part of a new set I received as a Christmas gift from Dad a long time ago. The track and boxes are history but everything else is still together except for the auto flat that disapeared, got the autos but no flatcar. The only piece of track I still have from that set is the uncoupling track, but the insulation on the wire that goes to the activating buttons is so brittle it is a fire/shock hazard.

After seeing all the news photos about the snow it brings back memories of the endless hours spent behind the wheel of a plow or J.D. tractor with a blower when we lived up in Grand Lake, Co.

Time to get going.

Later !

Sunny but cold today on the North Bluff. The temp is at 5 now and may get up to 16 this afternoon. They say next week we will hit the 50s! So the slop will begin. Sometimes I don’t know what is worse.  The cold or the slop.
DougDG  Nice 2337. Did you get that new as a kid?  Confused I need to get a postwar GP-7 one of these days. My brother got a 2338 when we were kids the same year I got a ALCO FA 218 A & B set.
Roy, enjoy your winter while you have it.
Well off to the store to get some meds for the old BP.
Have a good day.

Roy,, did you say Drift????  Surprise

Well......Chuck got the snow cannon stabilized and we got 4+ inches over the ice sheet from the sleet last night. Buckeye - I was able to kick enough in a pile about 10" tall - a Texess Size Drift - if you get my drift...

25 this morning - to go above freezing around noon - bright and sunny - "it's a winter wonderland" (except for those attempting driving).

DougnottaG - great pic! Yes - limitations - If I were you I'd make some chili and sit down!

Fife - not at York? You'll miss Ice Scream! Crying

Dennis - I had a similar neighbor when I lived in an old neighborhood close to downtown (house built in 1922). Junky - but one of the best/friendliest neighbors I ever had. And much better than the ones I have now.

Have a great day all!

Evenin' All.

Rich, Sorry for your loss.

The "BetterHalf" roped me in on a project for one of her club's Chidren's Hospital fund raiser later this year. Guess this means we'll have to clean some of the "junk" out of the garage so I can set up the woodworking equipment. Haven't done very much with it since the arthritis has caused problems with the hands.

Kinda scared her this afternoon, we bought a couple of loveseats and thought we could bring them in ourselves. Turns out that the steps were a bit much for me. We got the first one in but I was huffing and puffing so bad she was really concerned. A bit of a rest and all was well, especially when a neighbors boys, ages 15 & 18, were volunteered to bring up the second one. Guess I haven't quite discovered all my limitations yet.

Got most of my 027 stuff together for friday, the Queen of my collection will definitely make a short appearance since it was the one that started it all so many Christmas's ago.

Evening all!

Fighting off the snow cannon today. Temps dropped like a brick and rained all day which is a good thing. We need it. Sleet started about 6 and we will get sleet/snow most of the night. Might get 2". I will try to pile some up for Buckeye Mischief

Rich - sorry Angel

Ray if you think you might regret it don't I almost made that mistake and glad I came to my senses before I did it as it would cost me at least triple to replace from what the guy would pay.

Just checking in,

Not much going on but less appointments for my wife this week.  She has one more day of physical therapy next week and that's it.  They say they have done all they can do.  She still gets neck pain thought and needs pain killer (tylenol) still.

Cooking some pork chops tonight with potato and veges plus some johnny cake I made the other day from corn muffin mix.

A friend wants to buy my MTH F59PH proto 2 Metrolink engine and K Line 18" cars but I have no idea what they are worth.  Don't see any on E Bay.  I'm still undecided about selling all my stuff.  Just can't pull the trigger when it comes right down to it.  The trains mean too much to me and I'm afraid I would be sorry if I sold them.

Meanwhile back at the ranch, I'm staying very busy being care giver for my wife.  Takes about all of my time.

Tomorrow looks like the first free day we have had for a while.  Need to do something good.

Ray

Good evening all,

Rich, sorry for your loss.   It is tough when you lose a pet, and no words adequately describe how you feel.  Good day at work.  Got caught up on yesterday's activities and will be in good shape for tomorrow.  Did get into work.  Car pool person's daughter got laid off due to low oil prices (not always good news), and the parents will be spending the weekend helping her come back to the home base.  No soccer tonight due to bad weather.  Thanks again for all the birthday notes.  I  hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Sorry Rich. They are a part of the family.  Angel

Bright sunshine today but someone left the door open again to the north pole. 15 now and heading DOWN from here.

Today I plan to trow some quarters at the truck to get some of the road grime off of it and restock beer.  I finished the bridge last night and removed all of the clamps. I am happy with the whole project. Buckeye had a great idea there. Yes

Pictures of it on on his Bridge thread.

Good Morning…….
For those of you who don’t do Facebook, I’ll give you an update:
Christopher (who I affectionately called Cat) was sent to the angels at 12:15 on Monday March 2.  On the advice of our vet, we let him go.  He has suffered a very short time, but it was enough.
My daughter Barbara held him through out the procedure and held him until they got to the crematorium.  A sweeter cat you’ll never see.  We are all still stunned and heartbroken.
Barbara and I want to thank all of you who shared in this and for  your condolences.  It means a lot to us.  He was and still is a member of our family.
A Belated Happy Birthday, Mike C!
Not much else, just waiting for 8" of Snohizo now.....

Good evening all,

Spent the day at home.  Met with contractor to go over details for train addition.  Will break ground in June and hopefully be done by the time Lucas gets out in September.   Wrote thank you notes for the party today, and did some errands and some financial work.  Did get to watch a Thomas and Friends show today.  Those are fun.   I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Evenin' boys.  Freezing rain right now in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Hopefully the temps will rise a little before Fifepup has to drive home from work.  Simply not getting anything accomplished on the home front.  Gonna try Liverpool again on Saturday.

88 - YORK is probably out for me next month. Sigh  I appreciate the kind offering.  Would like to get Buckeye out sailing in June though.

Mornin' Y'all.

Belated  Happy B-Day Mike !

The last of the family & friends left yesterday to return to their respective homes. It is nice to have a certain degree of peace & quiet for awhile, must be "Empty Nester Syndrome" .

As Dennis said the weather is getting back to normal although we certainly did need the rain, fortunately it was a long light rain that was able to soak in instead of just running off. Although it was nice to have some thunder and lightening yesterday with some small hail.

Hope you guys are hanging in there with this wacky winter so far. Wonder if Jack has worn out is snow blower and snow shovel yet. To help all you guys get your thoughts on the coming spring here's a link for you to watch: http://www.camzone.com/hansen-cardiff .

Got to dig out some of my older items for friday at the museum. The friday crew has decided to make it an old style 027 day, hopefully the Atlas turnouts won't create to many issues for the engines.

Need to get back to work.

Later all.

Happy B-Day MikeC!

Got home last night to find the driveway by the garage doors with a coat of ice on it, so spent a few minutes spreading salt. Woke this morning to find 90% of the ice gone Thumbs Up. Got in the car, turned on the radio, only to be informed that we will be under a winter storm warning from Noon to 10pm tonight... you guessed it... more ice. NoNoNoNoNo

I love my 4 seasons, but Mother Nature needs to learn that ice <> fun!

Fife - you going to York in April? will you still be in Bal'more? As I've said before, our place may not be as close your kiddos as the yachet - but I'm sure it is a tad bit warmer - you are always welcome!

Morning.  Cloudy and low 40's.  Going into the 70's tomorrow.  Then followed by wintery mix but the REB fires will keep it from freezing on the ground.

Not much today.  Got Chamber dinner tonight.  Something everyday it seems.  Got to go to lake house and clean.  Then haul everything home that I'm keeping.  Have to have done by 15th.  Short time.  Wifey not cooperating but wants it sold. ????

Hope all have a good one.

Aloha. As Kev mentioned, just a few inches of snow and sleet but right at rush hour made this morning's commute very nasty. At least it is suppose to warm up into rain. I am too jealous of the training camp weather to watch those games.

Good morning.

Hope you had a good B-day Mike.

Looks like all of the bad stuff slid just north of us and got Doug.  Surprise  Just a tad of ice on the side walk. Oh well. We will still have fun then since Lexi spent the night. Everyone is sleeping and Lexi only woke up once.

Time to make some coffee and get moving.

Train news:  I worked on the girder bridge yesterday and it is shaping up nice. I will post some pictures when I get the chance. I just used what was there already to mount the girder support to. The girder is under the track and will work okay like that. The track is not in the dead center of the support but I don't care because if I ever get around to my pocket scene under it it will be replaced so it is a lot better than it was and will work for now.
