Morning all. Chilly out. Off to early Human Services Board meeting in Raleigh.
Wish I could wait on Shake and Bake's reply this morning to my "badgering".
Have a good one.

ChiefEagles OH that sounds good. How much did you pay him to keep you in a wheel chair for Kay to push you around. Second, when I first got a computer years ago and got on line, joined a forum. Was typing everything in bold. I was politely told by a guy, typing bold meant SHOUTING! So I quit. Now I am aware that this software with turn to bold on its own and you can't turn it off. Just go out and come back in. Then retype and post. Third, get in that train room and work on my engines.

Talk about ungrateful !! What you do not realize is that the pushing Kay does of my wheelchair is part of her physical therapy. I'm just helping to comply with HER Dr's orders.
Second, I believe you are confused with typing in ALL CAPS, as shouting. The bold is only being done to help some of you older guys see better.
Third, IF I RECALL CORRECTLY, YOU SAID THEIR WAS NO HURRY WITH THE ENGINES! So being the super conscientious person that I am, I thought it would be a good idea to check the upgrade hardware out before I finished installation on your 2nd engine. To do that I have installed the upgrade in 3 of my older engines and so far the upgrade pcba is working well, only have two more to go. Unfortunately the solder iron was left on and it leaned against your shell. But, I've been able to fix it ok, so no problem. BTW I expect the speaker to fit in a LOT easier on the second engine.

Good Afternoon All !
Back from Doc's office. They must have stock in the bandaid company with as many as I have on me from the biopsies they took. Will learn the results in a few weeks.
Got everything all packed for the next three days at the museum. Regular run Friday, kid's club fun run Saturday and "Halloween Spooktacular" on Sunday. Gonna be a long weekend.
Things moving along on the halloween layout. Main part, level one and two, is done just need to get some of the backdrops up so it can be moved into place. Once that is done then the lower table can be put in place and the finishing touches applied.
Gotta get going, taking the better half out for lunch and stopping at Party City too see if there's anything I can think of for a costume on Sunday. Everything I've seen so far they want way to much $$$$.

Reminds me of when we'd have to tell the customer his car wouldn't be ready for the weekend....when in reality, the boss didn't have his own wheels and needed the customers car to go to the cottage that weekend.

Evening Folks,
Busy week so far. Should be doing some work related stuff but I have been sitting here catching up on posts from the last 4 days. I have been working on an online class for the last few weeks. I need to get to work again tonight. Not much else to report here in G'burg. Weather has been cool and damp. Supposed to warm up by the weekend.
Banks- Loved the photos. Also enjoyed Carl's video from York.
Stay safe,
Mitch

Hello there.
Thanks all for the kind words on the York photos. Mrs actually took the one of Santa while sitting in the entrance to Silver Hall while waiting on me.
Pretty busy here. Blowing off last Friday didn't help that situation any.
Mrs is pretty wound up this evening. Her school (an elementary) was on lockdown this AM due to threats of suicide from a parent. Makes her want out even more.
Jim Probe......if you rewind the armature be careful of the direction of turns and the number. A few turns more or less won't hurt but all three should be consistent. Do you have a source of magnet wire? I still have some around but nothing that small. Make sure there is paper or some means to keep the wire from rubbing the iron. You'll also need to dip it in varnish or shellac to keep the wires from rubbing through each other. wind as tightly as you can and try to keep the turns laid together or the bundle will be to large.
On to other things
Prayers for those in need

Good evening all,
We lost 1-0. We only had 10 players, and that hurt. Had a nice supper afterward at Fazzoli's. We have heat and A/C in the house again. Oldest daughter has carpal tunnel surgery on right hand tomorrow. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Good night all. Reclinerized most of the evening. Tired and was up so early.
Plate Bruce, I guess you know Shake and Bake and myself battle back and forth all the time. Don and I are actually brothers so we have to carry on sibling fighting.
Mike C., those un-American sport scores. You never give up.
Banks, sorry to hear about Wifey's school.
8N, about it. Funny song. Got the corn in?
Meeting at 10 AM and then off to the deer camp.
All sleep tight.
Morning all. Partly cloudy and chilly. Getting ready for trip down east to hunt. Meeting at 10. Then hit the road.
Hope all OK this morning? RT, how are you?
Banks,
Thanks for the info. According to Tom Barker's book, there should be 11 feet of #26 magnet wire wound on each pole. I've got another good armature to put in, but I just wanted to challenge myself with rewinding the original.
Anyone know how to get in touch with our old friend Sturgeon Phish?
Jim
I'm a live Chief thanks for asking. Had operation to replace defibrillator on Tuesday Went thru my D-day yesterday pretty well actually I had other things upsetting me yesterday which mainly kept my mind off of it so I'm still kind sorrow but doing good.

Hello there
TGIF!!!!!!!!!!
Been a long week.
Almost finished with French Drain at barn. Keeping fingers crossed water problems are resolved.
Jim....I may have some #26. I thought it would be a lot smaller than that. I'm leery of total length. Number of turns is more important. Count them as you unwind. If you want me to see what I have let me know.
RE Phish. I may have his email from long ago. I'll check on that.
Why does the curser disappear while typing here??????????
Chief....hope ya get a big one. Musket season is in this week here but I've got way more things I should do. Grandaughter #1 is in a parade tomorrow PM. Guess where I'll be
Best get busy
Good afternoon all,
Glad to hear that Don got a good report from the doctor.
Warm today near 90. Where is Fall?
Wife going to accupunture again today for the 7th time. He claims she should be out of pain by the 29th after I told him we were going for an MRI on her on that date. I hope so.
Whatever happened to Pat from Virginia on the farm? He used to talk about stock car racing and the cows getting loose and looking into the windows of his house. Haven't seen anything of him in a while.
Got some good info from Hudson John about the parts I need for my broken down Santa Fe Northern. MTH may have what I need. I will talk to Midge.
later,

Hello to All. Happy Friday. Uneventful day at school today. Superintendent came to visit. Banks - I know how your wife feels. With yet another school shooting today in Washington State it is discouraging to work in a school. You wonder what drives people to go on such rampages. Our security coordinator always tells us it is not a matter of IF there will be an incident in our schools, it is WHEN will it happen.
Supposed to be a nice weekend weather wise. Tomorrow I am traveling to Sterling VA with my wife. Her friend is being installed as pastor of a church there.
Take care,
Good Evening,
Things going pretty well here. Spent the day visiting with a friend, then working in the train room. Even spent time on Chiefs engines.
BTW, Chief, question..... Which direction do you usually run trains, clockwise or counter-clockwise? Was testing the first engine and it jumps the track running counter-clockwise. Is that going to be a problem? The only think I can think of is I might have gotten the trucks mixed up when I put them back on. I know I didn't install them 180 degrees out, the coupler is facing the right direction. (If I did get them mixed up they could be facing the wrong way, you know, if I switched the front and rear).
I started taking the second one apart, even though they are the same engine, even the same cab number. They are different internally. The original K-Line boards are even different. Hope the ER upgrade I have for it will work, cause the wires are different colors than the first engine. Maybe I should have checked that before I installed the ER upgrade in the first one. Sure, hope I don't have to take that one out and switch the boards. Hopefully, will find out tomorrow afternoon. Other than those two issues, the upgrade is going well!
We are going to go and work a show tomorrow am, will be the first time Kay has done one in quite a while. I'm sure she will be well received.
That's about it for now, so hope everyone has a good week-end !!
Please let me know about the direction you run your layout, Chief.
Good day at work. Got tickets ordered today for train ride tomorrow at Indiana Train Museum. Goes from Fishers to Tipton, where we eat and then return. Weather is supposed to be good. Watched Grimm tonight. Good show. I hope everyone has a good day.
Good Morning from Blueberryhill........
It is a cloudy 42 degrees. Going up to 67 today.
Not much new here. Watching the World Series on TV.
Y'all have a great Saturday.

Good Afternoon Gents,
Cloudy and threatening rain but just above 50F which is pretty warm for this time of year.. Been dealing with a bit of construction on the house. One wall of our basement has deteriorated so badly you could poke holes in it with a stick. Years of leakage and winter salt destroyed the block. I'm pretty sure when you compact the new fill you're not supposed to crack the mortar on the new wall. The mess of the front lawn is another story. I ain't paying for them to rectify the damage.
Tore down the carpet central just to keep wifey happy. Frankly, I couldn't argue...it covered a good chunk of the livingroom with tubular track. It looked like a 10 year old had moved in and taken over.
Chief: Brotherly Love is a wonderful thing, eh?
Hope everyone is doing well. I'm off to rake some leaves.
Plate Rail Chief: Brotherly Love is a wonderful thing, eh?
Yes it is. Get phone call from Don at 9:15 EDT [6:15 PDT] as I was walking away from deer stand. All shaken. Chris had been in a wreck at around 4:30 AM. Went to sleep while driving home. Stone sober so don't go there. Ran up under an 18 wheeler trailer. Had cut eyelid. Yes, that was all. Doing gamete of tests to be sure.
Later I get this text photo and word he is OK. Does have to spend the night in hospital due to seatbelt bruises. Want to be sure all OK.
Couldn't open doors so he crawled out the top. Yes he did.
Good Lord was looking after him this AM.
Home from hunting. Will post more about that tomorrow.
Later.
Yikes! It's almost unbelievable that anyone could have walked away from that wreck! So happy it wasn't more serious. Yes, a higher power was at work concerning that accident.
Trying to figure out what type of car it was? It doesn't look late model. Maybe something from the 80's?
Good Evening
Wow !! Have I ever been humbled today!! We have a true gift that our son is alive. Today was an emotional roller coaster, and to see in the 3 prior posts statements regarding Brotherly Love, couldn't be any truer. This morning when I realized how sever the situation was, and what could have been I just HAD to call someone and share the relief and joy I had. As a result I called the Chief. Boy was that the right thing to do, just sharing my exhilaration really helped me get a perspective for the rest of the day. THANKS FRANK, YOU ARE A TRUE BROTHER !!!
Bruce, the car is a 1992 Honda Accord, or was. From this view the car doesn't look too bad..
This however is a totally different story.............
We do not have any idea how he survived. He was within 3 miles from home, and had spent the evening at the university working on a research project in a lab. Simply fell asleep on the way home. He told me he awoke when he felt a minor jar, then immediately the entire impact. He came out the top of the car. The only injury he sustained was bruising from the seat belt, and it appears the rear view mirror hit him in the right eye. He will be released this morning, held overnight at the hospital to monitor vitals due to the seat belt.
Needless to say Kay and I are so relieved and fortunate. I know God must have a special task for him, for him to survive.
All for now, have a SAFE and Healthy Day !!
Morning all
WOW!!! Don the lord was watching out for your son. Glad he was okay. Prayers everything is fine this morning.
Morning all not much going on here today. just waking up yes I know its late lol just not into it. Actually its early for me when I don't have anything going on lol.
Talk to you all later you all have a good Sunday
Morning all. A very warm fall day. Been lazy. Slept late.
Good Sunday Morning All!
Bright and sunny this morning in Bayville NJ, going up to 65.
Not much going on today. Only thing on the agenda is to help my son finish roofing the shed. Later paying John a visit as I've been told the FedEx guy mis-delivered a package again.
RT - Glad your feeling better and are on the mend.
Don - You've experienced one of the most horrific things a parent goes through. Hearing that your child was in a bad accident. Yes, the good Lord was with him during this. You guys are fortunate.
Later............

Good Morning! 62 and Sunny!
Busy week for me between Doctor appointments, Babysitting, School and taking care of Mom. I think I had more time when working a 60 hour + week! lol I did have time for some train work. I did get to try out my purchases from York and all three work great. Today it is getting the yard ready for winter.
Don: Glad your son is OK. Looks like the car did what it was designed to do and absorbed the crash. Did the Emergency Responders peel the roof back or was that from the accident?
SPMan, Ray: Let's hope that the parts from MTH will work.
Enjoy the Day!
John
Hudson#685 Don: Glad your son is OK. Looks like the car did what it was designed to do and absorbed the crash. Did the Emergency Responders peel the roof back or was that from the accident? John
The 18 wheeler trailer did it when the car went under it.
Don - oh lord - how he survived that is a miracle. Glad he is ok.
NASCAR today.
Regards, Roy
Good morning all,
Don, I will add my prayers of thanksgiving that Chris survived this horrific crash. The Lord was truly with him. Was the 18 wheeler stopped when he went under it? The whole deal makes me grateful that someone was looking out for me all those sleeples nights on the railroad. Not only on the train but driving home after running 200 miles on short rest.
Have a safe day all,
Don....Wow! As Ray stated, he had a co-pilot who hit the eject button. He will be sore for a couple days, but it sounds like he will be okay.

Don - the pictures of Chris's car are hard to look at. He was truly blessed to be able to survive that horrific crash.
The installation service for my wife's friend was very nice. Afterward we stayed for their Oktoberfest. Brats, German style potato salad, etc. there was even homemade beer. Long ride home afterward.
Today has been a lazy day. Church, yard work, then watched the Ravens lose, napped for about 40 minutes. Now I am watching the NASCAR Race with the sound turned off. Too much yammering about nothing from the announcers. I had an online meeting for my class at 7:00 PM. Now I'm going relax for a while and then head off to bed.
