Thank You CTT and Merry Christmas!
Posted by Penny Trains on Monday, December 24, 2012 7:05 PM

I've had a bit of a rough time lately.  Medical issues, financial troubles and seemingly nothing but bad news on the tv.  It was all adding up and dampening my holiday mood more than usual.

But what I got in today's mail stole my troubles away and turned me into a kid again!  What was it that had this magic power?  The February 2013 issue of CTT with a pic of one of my layouts in the Photo Album!  After I got done dancing around and acting like a cheerleader, I finally read the caption next to the phot and smiled wider and wider!  The magazine arriving with the late mail on Christmas eve was just the icing on the gingerbread cookie!  (mmmmmm....gingerbread)  So I just wanted to say thank you for including me and let you all know how much it meant to me and how far it lifted my spirits!

Merry Christmas to all and to all a great night filled with toy train dreams!

Becky

Becky,

There are few I can think of who are more deserving to have their work published in CTT!!!   All the items you have shown us here on the forum are wonderful and whimsical in their own way, and you truly exhibit the joy that can be found in toy trains.  Congratulations and Merry Christmas to you.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Congrats Becky.  Thought that was your stuff.  When I get around to posting a pic or two on our North Pole diorama, you'll see some of your influences.  Making trains fun again...that's your gift.

Congratulations Becky!

I always enjoy seeing your contributions here on the forum.  Your threads on the modeling work that you do are inspiring.  I appreciate your ability to capture the joy of playing with toy trains in a very limited space. Thanks for sharing your creativity with all of us.  I'm glad that CTT was willing to share your talents with those folks who haven't discovered the online forums yet.  Please keep up the great work and continue to share it with us.

And,  from all of us here on the Blueboard Central Division of American Flyer Lines to all of our friends in the online toy train community

Merry Christmas

Thanks guys!

If everything goes well, you will see more in the December 2013 issue of CTT!  Big Smile

Now that all of my Christmas projects are finally done and delivered, I can settle in to making a serious effort over the next 2 weeks to get magazine quality (crossing fingers) photos of the Disneyland layout.  The prewar and postwar layouts can stay up till July if need be but mom's gonna want her living room back by the middle of January!  Laugh  So I'll have to focus on that layout first.

It's as tough as I thought it would be too.  Especially since I only have some hinky dinky lights I can move around and little knowledge of how my camera works.  I have come to realize that what looks great on the little display screen on the back of my Fuji FinePix often falls flat on a larger computer monitor.  And I would assume that if it looks boring on a computer monitor it would look just as boring on a printed page.  So maybe 2 out of a hundred fall into the category of what I'd even consider submitting to Roger for consideration.   But, I've got time!

Thanks again for all the encouragement!  It means a lot!  Big Smile

Congrats Becky.Big Smile Thought about you earlier while I was glued to the TV watching the marathon of A Christmas Story because I remember you said you are near the house used for the exterior shots in the movie.
