My 2354 ran fine two years ago, & I stored it in a climate-controlled room, until yesterday. Now, it is very sluggish, and the short-circuit light on my CW-80 transformer flashes while the engine is running. E-unit works fine. I lubed & cleaned, but, no improvement. Only change to layout is, I hooked up some signal, & street lights, to track lock-ons. Other engines run, without problems. Maybe this engine requires more voltage to run? Thanks, for any replies.

Try disconnecting the lights and accessories. Chances are the CW-80 does not have the power to run a dual motor locomotive and the accessories. You may need a transformer with a higher wattage capacity. If you have another transformer, use one to power just the accessories, and one just to run the trains.

Larry - Thanks! I did as you suggested, and it runs like it used to! I don't use it that often, prefering to run steam on my passenger trains, & a "NASCAR" GP38, that I painted, & lettered for the New York Central, handling freight. Should have known about the power needed, but, at the age of 80, I'm still learning!
You said the magic word, CW-80. Get something like a KW and you'll be set.
