Kev & RT, buddy of mine in South Texas sent me a box.  Opened it.  Has Williams Santa Fe A,B,A F3's and a 4 set of Santa Fe passenger cars.  Also a Dash 8 Southern Pacific engine.  Wants me to sell them for him.  ?????  Sent me email and named me as his official train broker. Surprise Seems he is looking for a modern transformer to be able to run two trains.  I don't do Ebay.  Guess I could use Train City.  Have no idea what they are worth.

Chief, You have a buddy????????

Hey I sent you a PM   maybe even two?

Kev

Just one Wink

Chief,

I have no Williams. Just send them to me and I will do an evaluation for a year or so and then get back to you. Smile

You have my address.  Whistling

WOW the weather man lost it again today.......78 degrees at 5:30 PM here.

Good evening all,

It is cloudy in SE Indiana again today with temps in the 60s.  Long two days.  Visit with Lucas went well Saturday.  Ok, I think it is time I tell you what is going on.  A few days ago, Lucas had a mental breakdown.  Severe depression led him to consider certain extreme possiblities.  Fortunately he reached out for help and he is getting it now.  He is in a facility right now, but may be getting out soon.  My social worker daughter works at the hospital he is at and has made sure he is getting all the proper help.  Your prayers and concerns are most appreciated.

Today was a long day as well.  The Indy car race at St. Petersburg was very emotional with everyone thinking of Dan Wheldon.  Helio won and made a touching gesture as he climbed the fence where the street sign honoring Dan was placed.  Long day for my favorite teams as AJ's team and the Swiss Miss were DNFs and Sarah's just missed a top 10.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Mike, as a member of our combined [Mental Health, Social Services, Public Health and Environmental Services] Human Services Board, that is not a horrible thing.  He got help.  From the stress at school, former cancer and etc., minds sometimes can not cope with all.  Now he will have help and be fine.  Got members of that Board who have been the same road and are doing fine.  Continued prayers.

Now I will be pulling for OSU.  Go Buckeyes.

Broke a record today.  First time I've ever mowed the grass in March.

Spent most of the day working in the yard and even grilled for dinner.  Lucas, Jack and I ran a few trains.  Doors wide open and smoke belching from the steamers. Big Smile

Hello all.

A quick stop by this evening to ask you to pray for Dad.

Long story short he was out of sorts this AM so I took him to the ER. He's got Pneumonia. Spent most of the day there as they're keeping him. Can't let Mom alone so I spend the night with her.

I'll try to catch up on the weekend tomorrow

Prayers for those in need

Good evening everyone.  getting ready to hit the sheets, wife and kids are already down for the night.  Glad I checked in to get some prayer requests.  Mike, glad he did reach out.  One thing that really helps is to have accountability partners, a prayer group, etc.  Lets folks open their hearts and tell what is going on without the facade.  If Lucas, and all of us would do that, it really does help.  As Gal.2:20, Iron sharpens Iron.  I will pray for him.  Banks, will also pray on your situation.  Gotta watch as it really can through a guy for a loop with any electrolyte imbalance, shortness of breath, overall weakness, and it can get worse.  Glad it was caught and that they are working on things.  Too many folks try to "tough it out", only to find that it becomes too late for intervention.

I will take these concerns and others to my prayer time before sleep.  God Bless and may you all have a great week ahead.

Thinking about putting tmcc in my Bang S4, could be fun.  Sure I could put coil couplers on it too....

TARDIS is ready and we will have a nice quiet ride to honor SJ who is sick and all, ttfn!

MikeC.......I will also include my continued prayers for your Lucas, and for the continued strength he mustered to ask for help.

SJ........was glad to hear your are feeling better and that the appetitie has taken over.

Blownout......prayers continue for your buddy's recovery from this relapse.

Good night, y'all.  The prayer list is full, so I have to get on it.

Sunny and 80 today.  Sharpened the lawnmower and mowed the lawn today.

Took a trip to Michigan last week to visit mom.  She is still making progress.  Starting to work on plans for her sore knee that was a problem before the stroke.  Quite a project finding out information and making sure everbody in the rehab center has the needed information - communication between functions does not seem to be a strong point there.  More follow up phone calls on that next week.

We also had a dinner with my wife's family to celebrate all of the March birthdays - there are 5 or 6 of them.  Her grandad was celebrating his 99th!

Prayers for healing.

Back to work tomorrow.  Can't wait to see what kind of clean up is needed there.

Sir James: Glad to hear you're doing better. I'm having some problems myself and spent much of the day in bed.

Time for me to call it a night. Today I set the speed table for the GP9 Frankenstein locos. I started with the Digitrax road switcher thrott;e response curve of CV2=26, CV6=48, CV5=98. The CV2 setting was too high as they started from a dead stop at about thirty smph and the CV5 top speed was too low for my taste. To get a creeping start required a CV2 setting of 7 and the top speed CV5 is set at 154. So now the locos will creep (mark the spot to see if they're moving) at throttle position one and top out at 74 smph. Throttle position 5 is a nice 42.3 smph. See y'all tomorrow.

Good morning. It's 58° and clear. The high will be 82° and it'll be mostly sunny.

The plan for today is to go back to bed. Not feeling well this morning as I seem to be battling some digestive system bug.

I did get one thing accomplished this morning. I programmed my Bachmann GP7's so they now have MARS lights when going forward.

Mornin' Fellas

Fife - no way, no how!

A couple years ago I bumped out one edge of the layout about 1.5 inches to give enough clearance for long swing engines. This bump out never received new ply to 'finish' it, well I tackled that this weekend. If you remember the section of scenery that I finished a few years ago - well I started building the mountain on the other side where the curved arch bridge is - just the part above the lower level double portal that surrounds the tunnel portal leading toward the finish area. (I'll post pics tonight). It is about 50% finish, but I think I have all of the ceiling tile in place. Next is to put down the plaster cloth to start the base for the rest of the scenery, then paint and scenic the hill. I'll then tackle putting the cardboard lattice for the mountain behind the curved arch bridge in place and getting that prepped for plaster cloth. I'm hoping to have the mountain face pretty much complete by Easter...

Sure hope so!

BTW - I put the PRR F7 between the B&O F7s - this is a no go. The PRR has tapered ends and the B&Os are square, the diaphrams are different, the curvature of the roofs are different, as are the fans and smoke stacks... too many differences to make this a worthwhile endeavor... so it looks like the trading blocks for this puppy. Disappointing, but nothing I can't live with. I may look into a Williams B&O F7 non-powered but we'll see...

Good morning all,

It is cooler in SE Indiana, but still quite nice.  "Desperate Housewives" looks like it is going out with a whimper instead of a bang.  So sad to see them phoning in the last few epsiodes with meaningless storylines rather than building to a nice finish as they have done in the past.  Hopefully will be a quiet day at work today.  Not much else to report.  I had bacon and biscuits on the dining car for breakfast before sending it on to "Points East".  TBIL and I can drive.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

35 with bright sun, March is back. 45 is todays high.

Thanx Jack, I'm feeling a little better this morning. Had some breakfast but I coughed so hard over the weekend my chest is sore. We had a good group for our Tardis chat last night, Kevin was trying to win some cars off the bay so we all bid the price up so he could win. He lost anyway...S.J.

Hello all

Sunny and clear 'sur la montagne' this morning (that's French Chief...).

Got the news from the ins. company. The car is totalled. Need to make some calls regarding that this morning and then get a couple things out of it when I get back in town. Looks like I'll be on the bike and bus for a bit. Least I won't have to worry about the price of gas.

Mike - continued thoughts and prayers for Lucas and the family

BlownOutCyl - Angel for your friend and his recovery

Banks - thoughts and prayers for your dad

Kev - thanks for the videos on the SPF. Really like your layout and the burro is cool!

Friend in the Phoenix area is procuring a front seat for the van for me today. Time to pick up the pace on that project!

Good Morning CTTFans!

Remember last month when I was talking about record snow fall and we ended at #2 in history for February; well, we are now looking at the driest March in history and breaking record highs along the way.  Summer may have gotten here all too soon which means we might be looking a lots of fires coming this year. Sigh

88 - You're pretty much done with all the new-b impulse purchases, and will start selecting engines and rolling stock that "compliment" your layout.  So, thinning the "herd" not a big deal.  On my layout, pretty much if you wouldn't have seen it rolling through Cumberland in the mid-70's, I'm just not interested.  Exception being the W&LE (which I haven't succumbed to yet.....................yet.).

As for the price of gas.  Funny how we have just had one of our mildest winters on record on the east coast.  I personally made it through the entire season on a single tank of heating oil, where on average, I need 3.  So, If little ol' me didn't need that oil, it would be reason to say that a lot of others didn't either.  Hence, there should be a huge ginormous reserve of oil somewhere... Yet prices are spiking already.  And our state house and governor still want higher revenues on gas.

WHO is on my side...? And don't hand me the "speculator" argument...

Good Afternoon Y'all From Crystal Clear Taxachusetts,

Rain moved off the coast this AM and we are left with seasonal temps in the mid 40s moving forward.  Just the little nitrogen-enriched rain we did get over the weekend makes it look like someone flipped a switch, turning the lawn from Winter brown to half green!  Daffodils all in full bloom and the tulips are not far behind.

It sounds from this morning's postings that those in need of prayers are making headway.  Prayers continue.  Angel

SJ........just continue to do the opposite of what the Chief does and you will be back at 100% in virtually no time.  Smile, Wink & Grin

SP Ray.......I am afraid to ask what you did to your neck yesterday at church. Laugh

Bob........sorry to hear that the car was a total loss.  Better than YOU being at a total loss. Thumbs Up

Jeffrey........you have our permission to take a week off from your treadmill and recover.  Smile

Brent......re your target for current layout work, is that Easter 2012 or 2013?  Better check the Q's "honey do" list, the one she keeps, not the one she gave you.  Whistling

Fife.....re "splash down Wednesday," is that "launch for the 2012 yatchet season?  Brrrrrrrrr!!!! Big Smile

Chief.....re the poundage you can't seem to lose, don't they have salads South of the MD line?  Whistling

Mitch/Charlie.......re mowing during a March for the first time of your Michigan history, does this one count as the last one for last year or really the first one for 2012?  Surprise

Later, gang.  I have to go get some new pants tailored for length.  I finally have given up my several years' fantasy of fitting back into so much old clothing.  It's those six barrel lower abs that keep getting in the way.Beer Whistling
