I would only use stranded for track power.since it is easier to work with. 14 and 16 AGW stranded wires.

The 14 AGW solid wires could be placed between very long straight stretches that have terminals on each end to connect stranded wires to continue the current.

Use Terminal strips to step-up and step-down the size of the wires near the track or accessory.

Wiring for Track Power!!

Hello all, What do you guys use for track power wire??  What AWG wire do you use?  I have tried some solid strand 14 AWG, but it is so hard to bend and all that.  Should I use 14 AWG lamp wire that is stranded not solid??  If so, where do you buy it??  At Home Depot? Its about $57 for 250 feet of it.  Will that do the job?  But, I think it was 16 AWG, could not find any 14 AWG lamp wire.  As for 022 switches, I will have 20 AWG leads from the fixed voltage plugs to the terminal strips then use thicker, prolley the 14 or 16 AWG lamp wire to run it to the transformer.  Would it be okay to use 20 AWG for all my accessories??  I run the wires from the accessories to terminal strips then to the transformers.  I have 2 to 3 accessories per throttle on each of my transformers.  Sound okay?  Let me know what you think.  Thanks.
