Back from MIL's and Niece's B'day party.  Now to find something decent on TV.  Maybe the Sniper thing at Ft. Benning GA that I have DVR'd.  Could run trains.  Watched a good movie this afternoon before going to MIL's.  The Hunting Party is about Bosnia and surrounding wars.  Well, actually afterwards.  Pretty good.  Cold outside.  Later.

Dennis,

Then you were refered to "Down The Shore" as a BENNY. If you came from the Philly area, you were a SHOEBIE. I don't only get refered to as a Piney, but because of the side of Route 9 that I live on I am also called a Clamdigger. Manasquan or "Squan" is still a very nice area.

Hi GUYZ,

Did grocery shopping and then took wife and dog jane over to the NED SMITH LANDs and did some cross country skiing.  I broke the trail and on the way back of our 3.5 miler other people were doing the same so the track was pretty fast coming back.  Came home showered then cleaned turtle tank worked on layout a bit now going to relax and wait to go to WAYNES.

OLETIMER,  I did the cross country skiing to make room for tonite.  That's why I run and lift to make room for more.

Stay frosty,

Yay! Thanks Greg - I'll try it.  I was trying different lower-voltage hookups to get the solenoid to work on the dump bin for the 96 - figured its the same as a 97. I got a Lionel door-bell-like button between the transformer and the elevator. But nothing worked. I checked that the plunger was stuck and the springs were in the right position - that's what I meant, Sir J.

Doug M.

Not certain this will help since it is for a #97 Coal Elevator.

From the "Complete Service Manual for Lionel Trains" by Aurotech.

"Approximately 12 to 14 volts are required to operate the elevator."

Checked my other service manuals but nothing on the #96 in any of them either.

Good early afternoon y'all!  Home from church.  We skipped Sunday School as son is snotty and didn't want to chance sharing it with his classmates.  Have to get my expense account information done for the meeting I went to last week.  Have church again tonight, so I will not be seeing the super bowl either.

I have to get some fasting labs done in the morning prior to going in to the hospital.  Hope to get that done in a timely manner as we have a few cases and don't want to let anybody have trouble covering for them.  Also have some more honey dos to get to as well.  We are making progress, but somehow, the list seems to growConfused

Hey Hudson, we used to spend our summers in Manasquan, NJ.  I grew up in North Jersey, moved to the south about 16 years ago.

Hope everyone has a blessed week ahead.
Dennis

Morning all, bright sunshine today after rain.  Going to church this morning followed by brunch with our friends,  Don't care anything about the Super Bowl.  Just a lot of hype.  Will probably run trains this afternoon.

Have a nice day,

Blueberryhill RR

It snowed in Ohio...........

This is a real snowblower. One engine. 454 cubic inch big block Chevy. Runs at 3500 rpms and throws the snow 75 feet. Cooling system is in the handlebars. It is self propelled. I think it is quite loud thru the dual exhaust.

Wow - thought I posted on here last night, but guess I was up too late flying loop-d-loops in the Tardis.  Char's numbers are going back up now, which is what we have been waiting for!  She's almost up to 100 now.  When she gets up above 1000, she will not be neutropenic any more and I'll go visit her in person again.  She said the stuff in her mouth is not as bad already and the pain is getting better.  Thanks for all prayers and in intentions!

Prayers for all of us here on the pot and for our loved ones and friends.

My Dad had a great birthday party last night.  Someone put up a giant birthday card in his yard thanking him for his service & etc., he loved that.  We don't know who did it though!

Son has a birthday coming up and he has money burning a hole in his pocket, so we'll be going to the store as soon as chores are done.  Then, I need to do bills and maybe taxes if I can find everything.

Is Super Bowl some big toilet?  You all keep mentioning this thing.  Confused

BTW: I do not watch the Super Bowl.  We usually go out to eat and a movie as no one is there but us [well, af ew people].  One guy told me he did not like the Super Bowl but went to the parties just for the food and drink.  I think that is true for a lot of folks.  I have a Niece who will be 4 and going to her Birthday party.  Off to the pond to check things out.  Later.

I saw a statistic yesterday that 51% watching the super bowl do so to see the commercials. They need to get a life!

Good morning

Overcast and 20s, we missed the big one but snow guessers say Tues/Wed 5+ inches are possible.

Doug I missed something in your question. You say the plunger moves but doesn't work??

I am going to sons house this evening, seems to be some kind of game on TV he wants me to watch, so I will go see what it's all about I guess. Hey the sun just peeked out. Have a great day...S.J.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It's a cold 10 degrees. Lots of snow on the ground. Cloudy. Going up to 28 today with no new snow.

Today is a resting day. I have one errand to run and then I will watch the Super Bowl. I plan  on running trains this afternoon.  Watched the Arca race yesterday. That little gal can drive. Also, watched the Shootout last night. Next Sunday is Daytona.

Dining car was here for the usual breakfast. I feel the need for an omlet soon.

Buckeye..... I have a little black Daschund named " Nosy ".

Y'all have a great Sunday.

Mornin' boys.  Sunny & 17 here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Gotta get back outside and remove the 3 foot high ice jam the plow trucks created for me. Sad This snow was particularly heavy, and had a blue tint to it.

Special Yankee snow I had madeup for you.  Remember, Mother Nature is my buddy. Whistling

Morning all.  Sunny toady.  Not going to train meet as it is usually junk.  Sometimes I find a NS itemd but then it may be over priced.  Got enough "train stuff" per Wifey.  She's right on this one.  Off to Sunday School.

Later.

PS: Buckey is on DRUGS big time.  9:20 AM and not night time.  Got his days and nights reversed. Laugh

It's kind of funny but I'm not telling her that.

Does anyone have an idea of what kind of voltage would make the solenoid move in a 97 coal elevator - I've tried a bunch of different hook-ups from 8 - 16 volts and nothing yet - though the plunger does move....

So the bride lands late in Daytona, goes to get her car and the rental folks give her a Prius which she can't figure out how to start. After another half-hour of not figuring it out, they go back in, find they have nothing else so after arguing she goes to another co. and gets  a Yaris then bang, gets stuck in race traffic. She now hates NASCAR and after another half-hour is still stuck 300 yds from the rental lot. Oh boy.

Doug: It is never a dull moment in our service territory.

ANJDEVIL 2: I am a Piney transplant. I moved to Bayville (GSP Exit 80 or 77) in 1982. My wife, her sister and brother spent their summers down there at their grandparents summer home when they were kids. All 3 moved there as adults. I was born in Elizabeth, raised in South Amboy and Sayerville. I can tell that you are from Jersey: What Exit? I spent my young adult years in Seaside and Belmar.I fell in love with this section of Jersey. I have the Bay a 1/2 mile to my East and to my West the edge of the Pine Barons. As the saying goes,"Yes I am a Piney, From my NOSE to my Hiney.

 Hey Guys,

Just got done with the food shopping and came home with Chinese for dinner - overstuffed now.

OldTImer - Went cheap and got a WallyMart battery at $70.  The Harley was $120.  Ran fine, filled it up 92 Octane and rode her home.  Has a 1 year warranty and may be done with it by the end of the year.

John/Hudson - so what, your a Piney???  Where are you near? Ocean is a big county...used to hang in Toms River and Seaside back in the day..Me? Just off Exit 8 on the NJTP.  Miss it much and visit often.  I was going to fly home with the family for the 55th birthday bash, but finances as they are...may settle for Orlando or just a bike ride to Daytona.  Bike Week is in 3 weeks...

Still very windy, going into the 30's tonight and drying up.  Going to change and head to bed. Tomorrow is another day, need to have the Princess get her homework finished.

Seems like I'll have NO interest in NASCAR - what, only 3 Dodges and Petty with FORD?  Shades of 1969!!

In the morning...

I am the monster in your head...And I thought you'd learn by now, It seems you haven't yet.
