Well, my name is fairly self-explanitory. Sask is the abbreviation for the province of Saskatchewan, where I live. Tinplater comes from me being a tinplater since I collect vintage toy trains and operate them on a classic tinplate-style layout.

Well I use my name [Frank Eagles] on all the fishing and boating boards. I came here and I thought, trains. Santa Fe Chief. Also, lots of folks as me, with the last name Eagles, are you Native American [I'm being proper here but I usually say Indian with great respect]? So Chief came out of no where. Now you know.

Great question!! [:D]

Here's the real story about the my forum name Buckeye Riveter and my signiture as you see it here on the forum. [;)]

As many of you know I live in Central Ohio, the Buckeye State, near a crossroads that is named Roger's Corners. A small creek runs through Roger's Corners at an elevation of 936 feet.

I am a graduate of Purdue University in Civil Engineering and have for the last 30 years have been part of the design or construction of many major projects. I actually had a class where I was taught how to design riveted connections. I am a Hoosier by birth, a Boilermaker by the grace of God. In the old days, one of the nicknames for the Purdue sports teams was Riveters. Therefore, combining the Buckeye and the Riveter nicknames became my forum name.

The photo that you see with the signature was taken in 1955 with my first electric train, a Marx. I love the photo because it reflects the joy of a young boy with his trains. A joy that has lasted over 45 years. [8D] (The photo makes it very easy to spot one of my replys on a posting.)

After I finished my doctorate a few years back, the folks at the church I serve started calling me "Dr. John". Of course, I still answer to "Bro. John," " John," or "Hey you!"

I just looked at a map of U.S. railroads, and the Guilford Railroad was the one that ran closest to my area.

What does your forum name mean?

We all have unique forum names. Mine came from a job I had in southern California where I was involved in building and designing a nitrous oxide system for cars and trucks. Someone called me Nitroboy once and it stuck.

What does your forum name mean or stand for????
