So many roads, so little time.
Sad indeed.
Here's a working link for anyone interested in seeing it. You could really hear the dynamic breaks howl as the engineer stopped the train.
Here is the same video on Youtube (far less tracing cookies then the other video link posted)
Amtrak Grade Crossing Collision
Terrible tragedy, but tragedy aside you do get to hear unique sounds coming from the Amtrak P42 that you hopefully never ever hear...like heavy braking and most likely going into emergency judging by how fast it stopped from 70mph.

Some people may say it's cold or heartless, but I don't feel sorry or sad for the idiot behind the wheel. He was probably showing off or thinking he was trying to impress the other passengers it the car. It is a shame that 4 other people in the car are now dead because of this boneheads actions. I feel sad for the engineer who now has to live with the knowledge of knowing he killed 5 people not by his fault but the fault of a nimrod who knew better by not being behind the wheel. After 14yrs of being a police officer maybe I'm just use to seeing and trying to stop horrible drivers to no avail. Amtrak should go after his insurance for the damage to the train and the enginers theropy.
