ChiefEagles RT, all I see is s NS diesel. It is so humid, you can go outside and stand still and sweat. Garden growing. Just finished picking. Tobacco in the field around the back fence [you can see in picture] is growing so fast you can watch it move upward. Chat later.

Attended the AAA Columbus Clippers ball game yesterday afternoon, a great day for a ball game. The new ball park is really nice for AAA ball. Suppose to be some big time storms passing Through Central Ohio today which means I will be working in the basement most of the day on the layout.
The NS Buckeye Yard is filling up as a storage yard, all the feeder lines into the yard are full of excess rolling stock. A friend of mine that is a sales rep for the BNSF says they have 75,000 cars in storage. Probably not many new cars are being ordered from the manufactures.

Morning all!
Nice chat with Brutus, Charlie, SJ, and a quick Hi to Doug. Sorry I had to leave so soon.
Rain and storms thru the night here.
Hope to make it to the zoo today, as they are opening a new children's play area. We'll need to dodge the storms. More predicted this afternoon.
Kurt
Busy weekend planned. My son turns 3 today...amazing how time flies! We are hosting his Bday party tomorrow. If weather holds off, it should be nice.
Filled up the trailer with mulch last night and did the first round of "operation mulch". I swear I could spead 20 cubic yards of mulch and not nearly have enough...but enough to look like I care.
Going to Disney World next week for a little R&R.
Its storming.

Good Morning from Southern Ohio
It is overcast and muggy. Beginning to catch up from being on vacation earlier this week. Still more grass to cut and the garden needs some attention. Doing research on what type of hold down system to put on my truck for the truck camper. I am leaning toward happijacs. Any of you have experience with truck campers?
GregM – More jobs are being posted soon. Keep looking at the USEC employment site. Now the press release is out I can say there is plans to build a Nuke Power Plant at our reservation, in addition to the uranium enrichment plant I’m working on now. Between the two plants we’re looking at 1000+ permanent jobs at well above average wages.
Wes- Nice deck. Don’t you just love the deck screws! What are you going to do to rest up from Disney World?
Charlie – Happy 30 years of Matrimony! A special blessing to you and your bride.
Chief – Your grounds look very nice and inviting. I can picture you setting under the tree with a tall glass of sweet tea!
Bob – Come to Ohio this time of year and you will see that green stuff on the ground growing as you watch it.
Jim F – Continued prayers for your bride.
Buckeye – TGIF!!!!
May God bless
Jim

Got to go to pond with boat. Checking with depthfinder for a newspaper box. Saw where something had been drug under cable and down to pond. Mentioned it to Chief of PD. He said newspaper box stolen a couple of nights ago. Sure the "Jones gang" dumped it in the pond.
Off to the lake house after that.
Have a good one.

Coincidence? ...I think not!

Chief - CATION! Could be a Yankee grit destroying bomb!!
Are you growing Tobacco? Where can I see the picture?
RT - Early Congrats on the 25th.
Don - I liked your night picture on another thread.
A lot of posts today about rough weather. Building up to major storms here tonight. I better turn the AC down and fill water jugs in case we loose power.
Brutus - I will flip Mike to see who drives the Tardis tonight. Should be fun with all these storms.

Not me growing but a buddy. Look outside the fence of garden pictures and you see green. Tobacco about half grown.
Off to the lake with Lucy.
Chief, that's a nice looking garden. I don't see any butter beans or okra in there yet? We used to grow butterbeans and let them climb strings strung between an upper and lower wire attached to poles. My grandmother planted red potatoes too but would dig them up when they were small. She cooked them whole and put some kind of glaze on them. Wish I knew what it was.

Sounds like something from Alice's Restaurant with Arlo Guthrie. Maybe the Roseyville PD will take some 8X 10 glossy pictures when they drag it out and get the helicopter out to give bigger news coverage. Maybe it's the monster planted in the lake by Ernest T. Bass.
Afternoon!
We made it! Looked like the rain just ended as we entered Snohio. Nice and sunny 80 degrees at the Zoo! lots of tired people there. Nice new Neighborhood exhibit for the kids! Next week is Lucas county Free week, so there will be crowds.
Quiet evening planned after going out last night for dinner, and Summer Festival live music and dancing.
Good evening! Spent the whole day in meetings. Some exciting stuff coming down the road regarding surgical cases. Turning a lot of conventional wisdom on it's head. My brain is about fried. While I have been in meetings, the family has been at the beach and the pool frying in the 100+ temps here. We are heading out to eat and then to the beach so I can get my feet wet for a change. More meetings till Sunday, then home.
Bob, check with your MD regarding the meds you are on. Some, like Atenolol are often better taken at bed time. Depends on your situation and the other medications you are on. Taking medications at the right time can make life a lot easier. You don't want to take something that will make you drowsy in the morning, etc.
Chief, good luck trying to bring that box up if its down there. May need to borrow a grappling hook from the FD to pull it up.
Brutus, continued prayers. God Bless,Dennis

Good evening all,
It is looking like rain again in SE Indiana with temps in the HOT range. Just spent a wonderful evening Thursday with my Norwegian soccer friend, her girlfriend, and the "saucy wench" (no offense to Lisa and the other ladies who pop in every now and then, but the place was dripping with estrogen lol). They are going to be playing on the same soccer team in Norway and I cannot wait to see some more "action" shots of them on the pitch. I ran the 384E this morning in the attic before it got too warm and her girl friend was very impressed with the trains. Today I went to the YMCA to do weights and soccer juggling. We went to a very impressive demo of TRAINZ software where some one had recreated the Greensburg rail yard in the 1950s with NYC steam. Hard to believe the yard had seven sidings and the line was double tracked from Indy to Cincy. Greensburg had a five stall roundhouse at one time. Watched my soap operas and went to the historical society as well. I had bran muffins on the dining car this morning for breakfast. Beacon is lit and I can drive all night if needed. I hope everyone has a nice day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Good Evening
A humid day, around 80 I think. It's raining now but no thunder YET. Had a busy day, hauled some file cabinets out of the church and gave to friends. No I did not steal from the church. They wanted them out. Never knew those things were so heavy. OK then some more cleaning in the train room and another spot looks better now. Not over yet, went out to Another steak house tonite with # 1 son and his wife. Fathers day dinner from them.
Kurt, how were things in my old home town, it's changed a lot but boy the memories. I am full again so will skip banilla but it's here for those who ride the thingy tonite. Maybe a cupcake or two still left as well....S.J.
Evenin' All.
Good day at the museum, quite a few visitors especially school groups. Everything unpacked and put away or back on shelves for next adventure. Local tv station is doing a live remote broadcast next tuesday. Have to be there very early to get everything ready for a 7:30 am show.
The better half is taking part in 24hr cancer walk tomorrow, got most of her munchie & meal supplies packed and ready to go. Slice tomatoes early in the morning for their burgers is the only thing left to prep, then finish packing the cooler and load it all in her car. After that I get to go to the all gauge train show & sale.
Later all, I'm pooped.

Evening All,
Our busy weekend is well under way. Our primary show this weekend is at the LA Fairgrounds, they are having a "Summer Fest", consisting of a Boat Show, RV Show, Home & Garden Show, Computer Show, Travel Show, Pool & Spa Show, and Roadster Car Show. All for a single admission of $10. Expecting 20,000 people plus.
My schedule has been;
Thur: Prepare products for 2 different shows, and load vehicles. (Took all day)
Fri: Go to LA Fair Grounds, set up booth, work show till 7pm.
Sat: Take other car to different show in Chino Hills, set up, work show for 4 hrs, tear down. Then drive to LA Fair Grounds, work that show till 7pm. (Wife working that show with me.)
Sun: Work LA show from 10 to 6, then tear down and return. Probably get home about 8 or later. (Working that day solo, wife attending friends graduation party.
Mon: Put Shop back in order, consolidating all the inventory.
So far todays, event was dreadful, very few people on the grounds. Only sales were for vendors from the other shows. People that were off today, were mostly unemployed or retired. Not many of them looking for a new boat or RV. I did see a boat I would like, it was a dual engine, 65' long, cigarette boat. Looked "MEAN" !! Typically the RV show, has mostly new vehicles from the larger diesel pushers, to 5th wheels. This weekend a huge amount of "Red Tag" bank repo's being sold, or offered. One had a really cool 4-8-2 air-brushed along the side. The grounds area has a large G-scale outdoor layout, and its in operation this weekend, along with 4 or 5 bandstand areas, and even a peting area.
Hopefully the next couple of days will be of benefit, we will see.
Hope everyone has a great week end, and Good Father's Day.
(Doug, Hope the All Gauge show is better than what it was when it was here! Wasn't very impressive, don't get your hopes up to high!)
Don
Mornin' boys. Mornin' English. Raining. May just have to pack some brewskies and sit at the dock today...and that's ok. Wifey ordered me some sailing magazines for Father's Day.
dbaker - Can only imagine the power plant in that 65-footer. And the fuel mileage!
Good Mornin'---
We got doused on by a middle of the night wake up call of a t'underin' boomer ag'in. Had a lot of rain with this 'un . We're still getting showers and monsoonal bits for the rest of today. The lake/pond that took over our back yard has grown big enough that I could throw a floating dock in it----
DBAKER: Those Cigarettes be one amazing vessel---we had a buddy who had a 40'er that just was a little TOOO quick------and was a bit hard on the fuel--
We's going downtown to see a friend's Art exhibit at an art gallery. Also see if'n one can't snarfle one---as if we had the space----
HU GYZ,
BIG NEWS here. A fellow teacher called and asked if I'd be interested on learning how to operate a steam engine. You betcha I do! He's on the board of directors of the ASHLAND Pa. Commerence. I went up there yesterday and they put me to work on the little Vulcan Steamer. I am learning the duties of the fireman and hope to be operating the lokie by summers end. I will be doing this volenteer work one day a week on Tuesdays. It's preetty cool. The trip out and back on a narrow gauge rail is only about a mile out and back. But still is a neat thing to learn. When I retire in 3 years who knows maybe have a job as Engineer? Here is an older video of the engine I am working on. Enjoy,,,,,

Sun is shining but just after dark last nite we had storms for several hours and it appears rain all nite. Over an inch in my coffee can rain gauge. My dining car chef is outside weeding the flower beds so I guess I missed the train. I used Preen out there and it helps but not completely. Enjoy your weekend.
