I check out this forum every couple days or so. I also check out the OGR forum frequently. Was debating about posting our (wife's and mine) First York experiences but there doesn't seem to be much interest in York here. I plan to post on both forums.

Blame goes to the warm weather and longer hours of daylight. Happens every year. A good gauge to go by is the smaller number of O-gauge items listed on eBay which begins to taper off somewhat around this time and then pick up again at the advent of cooler weather in early September.

I'm hanging around here and the Model Train Journal forum. I still drop by OGR from time to time, but not nearly as much as I used to. I agree that the drop in activity has more to do with the time of year than anything else.

I wasn't posting much leading up to York week (also behind in some home chores).

When I get aorund to taking pics of my recent Radar Tower mod (kludged a recent issue control tower with a can motor to make it spin better), I will share if anyone is interested. I queried Lionel about this a few times, got tired of waiting on them to update this classic accessory.

Welcome OK, a bit slower paced here but nonetheless, nice. I wonder if noted model train author Allan Miller will be joining us too? Hope so! I see he replied to a post.

I've gotten the impression Jack really is a nice guy. Personally, I thnk he over reacted to the arrival of the OGR "refugees" for his own reasons, and that gave everyone a bad impession of him. It's unfortunate, but I believe the OGR "refugees" should give him a second chance.

If it wasn't for BigBoy refereeing many members on this forum I would have felt very unwelcome here. I still see an us and them mentality on occasion. I will remain here, there and everywhere that deals with talking about trains .

Joe, I have to admit, I haven't quite got you figured out. There have been times where people have been picking on you, and I have come to your defense. But then you turn around and make silly comments like this. It seems you have a reputation.

Why not use this change of scenery to make a clean break? I don't think you are a bad guy, just sometimes you forget how to be polite.

I'm still here too, but I'm not a prolific poster, regardless of the time of year. I still visit the OGR forum occasionally, but this one is more to my liking. It also looks to me like posting at OGR is down. Before the idea of a pay forum was presented, there'd be maybe 30-40 posters signed in there many times. Now most times it looks more like ten or so.

I'm also glad Ben posts here. He always has good contributions or questions.

Tell me, Joe Polska, why is it that you always have to harrass Ben10Ben? Every time he posts something, you seem to feel that you have to chime in with some stupid comment intended to do no more than make him uncomfortable and harrassed.

No wonder you've been banned from other forums. And no wonder no one looks forward to your visits to the OGR chat room, where your behavior is even worse.

Why don' t you stop with the harrassing & just talk about trains? That's why we're here.

I still browse OGR and make about 1 post a week there, but I'm settling down here, where the coffee pot is always on!

I always read Ben's posts no matter where he posts. He's a precocious kid who will do well in college and/or whatever career he chooses. He knows his toy trains and has given me several good ideas. If the future of toy trains is in the hands of kids like Ben, who is 15 or 16, then the hobby is in good hands indeed!

Also agree that there are some really nice folks from OGR who are posting here, as well as there.

Still remodeling...not much free time. And OGR still isn't "free"; somebody else is picking up the tab.

Both fourms are fine for me, finding time to be online is the premium right now. Spring is here for most everyone now and our attentions are turned toward outdoor projects. (Garden RR will be very busy now) I know at work its 60 hour/6 day work weeks, with your "free time" spent doing yard work. Good thing I own a Cub Cadet.

Ben, What are you studying in school? When I was in school, a long long time ago, this time of the year became pretty hectic with all of the projects due at one time. I would offer to help you with your schoolwork, but it was a long long time ago. [D)]

Roger, I was thinking the same thing. More or less the old crew plus a few. Part of the slow down may be seasonal.

Same with me. I have been busy outside alot. Right now its raining though, so here I am, and will be for a long time. This is a much nicer, relaxed forum than any out there.

Like Tom says, Spring has finally sprung in Ohio. I haven't seen any snow on the ground for at least 2 weeks.

Hi Roger,

It could also be because of spring (I think it finally came) and yard work. I was out in the yard for a while myself tonight. If it dries out, I can till the garden.

I also believe a few have gone back from where they came and a few have also stayed, which I am very happy about.

Is it me, it seems that quite a few posters have disappeared since the other forum declared that it would be no charge? Looks like we're back to a smaller group with the addition of a few toy train dedicated and very welcome individuals.
