Like DougM: Lionel O27 tubular with O27 curves," ......we band of brothers."
IF IT WON'T COME LOOSE BY TAPPING ON IT, DON'T TRY TO FORCE IT. USE A BIGGER HAMMER.
Great! A nice variety so far. Thanks for responding.
Here's my story:
Started with Gilbert American Flyer original track
Then Gargraves S with Flyer switches
Then Gargraves O Phantom - temporary while I decided on an O layout
Now (and hopefully finally) Atlas O 21st Century - which I'm in the process of building!!
One more change and my wife will kill me.
P.S. We use the FasTrack that came with the Polar Express around the CHRISTmas tree.

O gauge tubular.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
027 tubular
I don't really know that one track system is so much better than the others. But what I do know is you have to live within your means and learn to be content with that. And that includes buying trains.
I not only use Lionel 027 track, but am actually quite content and happy with it too! I use Lionel 027 of postwar and modern vintage. I sometimes wish K-Line had put more effort on the low end and had come out with those revised 027 switches years sooner... if they had, I'd probably be using those instead.

"Praise the Lord. I may not have everything I desire, but the Lord has come through for what I need."
I've used Lionel '027' & 'O' gauges, but for Christmas of '07 our daughter and her family ordered from Santa the Lionel "North Pole Central Lines Christmas Set" for me and it came with FasTrack.
From now on I'll be buying and using FasTrack, as Pall Mall's slogan said; "You Can Light Either End."
With FasTrack you can use either end.

My outer loop uses Lionel Fastrack. The inner track is MTH Realtrax along with Lionel STD O operating tracks.
Lionel totally tubular, totally 027.

O27 Tubular for the 10 x 10 layout, circa 1986. Fastrack for the Loop around the Christmas tree.
O27 tubular with K-Line switches. Curves are 27", 34", or 42" on my permanent layout.
Fastrack for under the tree last Christmas. Had 2 starter sets worth of track and used most of it. Curves were o36. Last year was the first year I had a train under the tree since I was a kid. I wonder why I waited so long?
