Bob,

I'm enjoying the your Train Box videos keep 'em coming.

I have a question about the K-Lionel freight cars that came with the Plymouth switcher.

You mentioned the loco came with couplers compatible with typical O gauge rolling stock, but do the cars have replacement couplers?

I'm thinking about buying a K-Line set but I don't want to use the scale type knuckles.

Thanks,

Carl T.

The loco was the only piece that came with replacement couplers.
These are really smallish freight cars, so unless you're running a lot of traditionally-sized rolling stock (i.e. older K-Line gear or Lionel 6014-size cars) they will probably look out of place.
I suppose you could buy new trucks with couplers (or perhaps just get couplers and attach them to the trucks), but it limits your options, for sure. I ended up replacing the loco's rear coupler with an O gauge coupler - but left the front coupler as it was. I'll just run "backward" if I need to pull them. Oh, the set will be relegated to my SuperStreets line, anyway.

Bob,

I have a few questions;

1.  Who cuts your hair?  All of us need to know places to stay out of.

2. Why do you give a Cub Scout salute at the end of the show?  Never made it to Boy Scouts did you?

3. If the Packers are in the Superbowl, will you wear a cheesehead for the next video?

4. Does Kent run the camera for these productions?

5. How about showing some of the older toys that have gone through your toy box in the past years?

6. Have you thought about hiring Jillian Barberie away from FOX to increase your ratings?

1. Who cuts your hair? All of us need to know places to stay out of.
** A guy over in Brookfield I've been going to for 12 years - I just never learned to pick up the signs and to try and cut him off when he starts to talk about his landlord (and you see the results on my head).

2. Why do you give a Cub Scout salute at the end of the show? Never made it to Boy Scouts did you?
** Just an informal way to end it. I could give a genuine G.I. salute, but that would be over the top. Maybe.

3. If the Packers are in the Superbowl, will you wear a cheesehead for the next video?
** Hey, I just live here - I don't drink the Packer Kool Aid.

4. Does Kent run the camera for these productions?
** Nope. As I said before, the camera is the built-in iSight camera on my office Mac. The lens is about the side of a pencil eraser. I had to put it up on two bound volumes of Trains magazine (1996 and 2004 to be specific) to avoid cutting the top of my head off. But since you don't like my haircut, maybe I should lower it again. I usually shoot these before anyone comes in, otherwise the stand in the hallway, looking into my office window, and make faces.

When I shoot in the workshop for the review videos, I usually set the camera up and shoot it myself.

5. How about showing some of the older toys that have gone through your toy box in the past years?
** Good idea.

6. Have you thought about hiring Jillian Barberie away from FOX to increase your ratings?
** Nah, I'd pick Alisyn Camerota.

Bob,

Did you get the email I sent you?

Oh, regarding haircuts,

Buckeye probably hasn't had one in 10 years, just jealous of us young looking folks.  And stay away from that barber down in Crystal Lake, looks like he gets a little ambitious from the avatars I've seen Laugh

Huh? Whah? It's not the barber's fault, I'm just hair-folicle-challenged. A growing trend...
