What is the name of your layout railroad ??

Hi all,

I'm normally a lurker here but just had to jump in on this one.

My layout isn't permanent but it is put up for 8 weeks every year during the holidays, in my family's auto parts store.  (Not enough room anywhere else....it's 16x35 feet)

Anyway, it's the B B B & D Railroad.  The three Bs are for three generations of Blakesleys (my grandfather, who got me into trains, my dad and me) and the D is for Ray Deering, good friend of mine who built our "removable" benchwork, some really nice structures and a lot of other stuff.

Do you have any pics of the layout you can post?

My RR is the BUBB&A or BUBBA LINES for short.  The whole name is:

BELLAIRE, UWCHLAN, BAINBRIDGE, BIRDSBORO & ASPINWALL RAILROAD

My layout is the town of Arbuckle Junction.  Chessie System, Santa Fe, PRR and who ever else I find on sale all serve the small town.

It is a tip of the hat to John Arbuckle, the "owner" of Garfield the cat.

The "Flat Earth Piedmont Railroad"

I was building an elevated section of track so I could simulate a piedmont region.  The track on an elevated trestle section separated, sending a GG-1 to the table, and then the floor.

I decided that it would be much safer if my "piedmont" region was on flat earth.

Been thinking long and hard on this one.  Still WE aren't all convinced.  But we have some lights that display  KD&C RR .  Of course that is family initials.   (Does kinda sound like KATY, when spoken but we don't have any KATY road names either.)  Name subject to change.

My first thought would me the ABO&Y RR (Anything But Ohio and Yankees RailRoad).  But, then there could be Bogota Southern Railway.  I did most of my living early on in Bogota, NJ, and, when I became edumacated, I moved south.  (just kidding about the Ohio thing guys).

Junction Traction Company - makes convenient use of the intials on my first two trolleys - JTC (Johnstown Traction Co.)  Of course now I have others in different liveries. Good thing real trolley companies were murky about colors and names.

If I had an impulse to be clever (based on what I've done in recent years) it might be EB&PP railroad (E-bay and Paypal) railroad. Or as it begins at Union Station Kansas City and goes out into the Flint Hills of Kansas and back (southwest) it could possibly be the USSR (but that sounds pinko) to me.  Since I am a traditionalist and based on the location, decoration and substance of my layout I really think of it as the Kansas City Southwest Railroad.

There is a sign, however, over the layout that just says, "Traindaddy's Corner".

Well, I toyed with the B.W. and Underground Railroad the B.W&UG

Now I like the BFT Buckeye Freight and Terminal and two smaller railroads KCCC Kentucky container and coal corp. and M.S.U.X Michigan Saginaw Union Leaseing.

I had a cool but not fit for the general public name for a narrow gauge raillroad its logo would have been a large rooster in front of a hughe boulder
