Answer to Colin's question,

The old layout, was 6'-8" X 10' located in what was the rec room when the kids were still home. Made of 4 doors 30" X 6'-8". This winter I added a 12" wide shelf 12' long to and through the wall to the unfinished portion of the basement. There it connects to a 13' X 5' tapering to 4' layout.

Scott what type of camera did you use for the interior shots. They are great. I find it hard to get any depth of field with closeups like this.

I have a kodak digital camera 6.2 megapixels. believe me the pictures were not easy. I shot about 35 pitures to get 3 that I could use. I also used the Kodak sotwear to help zoom in closer after the fact.

I hadn't really noticed, until now, just how plain-jane that Iron City SW9 front end really is! I know there's a simulated grill on the front but it's hardly noticable. I might have to add an IC decal.

After receiving several nice compliments about the photos I have posted as my layout expansion has progress, albeit slowly, today you can see some real progress. The facing boards have been stained and added to the bench work. I am just about 75 percent complete putting down the 2" blue foam table top. So far so good, which always surprises me.

Pic of my coal breaker that I scratch built. Was modeled after the movie the Molly MaGuires. This movie was filmed in Eckley Pa. about 10 minutes from where I grew up. My late DAD helped build this for the movie so I thought I would build it for my layout.

Finally got the new bridge up. Mrs did the staining. Having a couple of little alignment problems, which will mean I have to tear apart the first section on the curve and reset it up. I made the tie supports long to run them into the yet unbuilt cliffside.

I can now run one train continuously, until I rip this out to build the main level below the new bridge.

Looks like you have a lot of tunnels on the layout. Good video. Do you use a battery for your in train camera? I have one that I want to rig up to look through the windshield of a FA A unit, but I want to build a DC power supply that will take it's feed off the TMCC track power to eliminate the battery. Still in the planning stages but on the list. Meanwhile it is on a flat car with battery.

Forgot to mention that they are all great pics, especially like the coal breaker Laz and Frank's Trestle. Also the night time shots are neat.

I like the coal breaker too. My question is: where do you guys come up with the materials and such to make these accessories?? Its unlikely that you can buy half of these in a hobby shop anywhere. Especially like the coal breaker assembly, I know there arent any really manufactured anywhere and often hard to come by. I am guessin that you built that from scratch. I would love to have a coal-based accessory like that, but I wouldnt have a clue on where to start.

Other than that, the rest of you guys are making me really jealous...now I feel really bad just getting back in the train scene after several years. Time for revenge of lost time. [:)] Not sure how long it will take, but I will find a way.
