Good Morning.

Could have used a beastie like that on our street yesterday.  Anyway, that is truly a sweeper that is a sweeper!  Chain drive - excellent - and wings as well.  I'd like to "get out and get under" to see if there's a flanger hidden in there somewhere - doesn't look lie it, but it's hard to tell from the photo angle.

G'day guys. Wow Tom , maybe you should send that over to Fergies Place so he can help the people that got the five feet of snowBig Smile [:D] I don't think it had a flanger, just about everything else mind you. Funny story, that was the first locomotive that the Cornwall street railway bought but it didn't have the pulling power to move their freight trains. So it was converted to a snowsweeper instead of them running out to Maguire Cummings or Brill for an expensive off the shelf purpose built sweeper. Speaking of sweepers here's another one,

Hamilton Street Railways biggest Maguire Cummings sweeper.

Here's some miscellaneous pics that i took with my Megxon S-304 camera. The first photo is quite a historical engine, the Canadian Pacific "Countess of Dufferin" one of the pioneering engines made for CPR by Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1877, she was brought to Winnipeg on a barge

Afternoon Lars , loved the book cover both here and at the bar Thumbs Up [tup] That mutant started out life as a Baldwin AS16 . It was rebuilt using EMD guts I think from a GP18 and the car body and dynamic breaks etc were grafted onto the baldwin frame. I don't think the C&NW did the rebuild , if I remember correctly it ws the Katy that did the re-building and the C&NW following their usual practices bought them second hand and wrung a few more years out of them.

Herer's today more from my trip to Chicagoland.

enjoy

Rob
