Black, silver, red, and orange of the SP's "Black Widow" paint scheme
followed by SPs Daylight.

Uggh to the Bloody nose scheme of SP that began in late 50s.

Two criteria: (1) Favorite roads (2) Geographical relevance.
For (1) ERIE Green/Grey, DL&W Maroon/Grey, NEW HAVEN script w/green.gold, D&H Bottle green/Cream, B&O Royal Blue/Grey, ACL Purple/Gold.
For (2) SEABOARD 'citrus' scheme, SP Red/Orange 'sunset', MONON's college colors - 2 schemes, RF&P Blue/Grey, C&O Blue/Grey + Univ. of Michigan, MoPAC/T&P 'Eagle',
D&RGW Silver/Gold 'mining country', GN Big Sky Blue.
Might-have been: (1) ATSF Warbonnet should have had red/yellow stripes extended along bottom of streamlined cars; they actually did that with Valley Flyer heavyweights. Blue lettering would have helped, too. (2) NYC would have looked great with addition of lemon yellow window band to the grey scheme.

B&O's Blue, Gray & Black with Gold trim and lettering; however on the Cincinnatian equipment, the Gold trim and lettering was done in Stainless steel's sliver.

Never too old to have a happy childhood!
