I find the new system much more difficult to work with than the previous system. If you want to make any change in a particular inquiry, you have to go back to the beginning rather simply make the change.

Firefox didn't work yesterday. Haven't tried it today.

According to Amtrak's 2016 financials, as well as an IG audit report of Amtrak's IT function, the company's reservation system is hosted by IBM at two locations. Presumably the web-page was developed and is managed by a third party developer.

I wonder what was wrong with the previous version; I had no problem finding the information that I wanted. Now, I have to learn a new system.
Amtrak.com has a new look. Check it out; let us know what you think.
Better check it out with Internet Explorer (IE). Or at least not with Google Chrome! I was able to get most of the information I wanted using IE, but when I accessed the site with Chrome, my preferred browser, only train booking and status check were working.
Apparently the new website is a work-in-progress. One would like to think that Amtrak would have tested the revised application on the internet's major browsers before releasing it last Sunday.
