I need a hotel chain that i could sleep in the day while recovering/preparing for a overnight train trip. So far I have found one chain http://oaktreeinn.com/ that is also a crew base for CSX/BNSf Crews and used to be the Mayflower Penn Station downtown NYC. Need some help here from seasoned travelers
Probably be easiest to find the hotel you want to stay at and call them up and explain what you want. Hard to beleive they would turn a paying customer away if they have empty rooms just sitting there.
Granted, finding hotels that cater to railroads and truckers would make the process easier, as they are used to check ins/check outs at all hours of the day. Places we stay at are just regular hotels (choice inns, holiday inns, red roofs, la quintas, etc) that the railroad contracts with - and gets flexibility and good rates due to frequency of use.
It's been fun. But it isn't much fun anymore. Signing off for now.
The opinions expressed here represent my own and not those of my employer, any other railroad, company, or person.t fun any
