Has CTA ever considered bi-level subway cars? They seem to have the height clearance.
CTA has an unusually tight clearance diagram. Bi-level cars would never fit in either of their subways.

Actually CTA as three and possibly four subway line sections. The Blue Line section from Logan Square is more of a box section compared to the tubes of the State and Dearborn Subways. This required the installation of window guards on the 6000s assigned to the Blue Line. I assume the subway section approaching the airport station is the same cross section.
The vertical clearance in the Logan Square subway section of the Blue Line is very tight. When the line was new in 1970 CTA assigned some former 4000 series cars there in work service, but had to remove the roof ventilators and trolley poles for them to fit.
