670 was spotted at Chicago Union Station this morning (06/07/2016)

The daily commute is part of everyday life but I get two rides a day out of it. Paul

From another site video of 670 eastbound with 3 P-42s and Boardman's special on rear.  Note UP OCS with 2 locos on first of video.

Other sites have mention that 670 will be on Friday's #6 eastbound along with Boardman.  Also stated that Boardman's cars will be set out in DEN.  Could it be on a very slight probability that 670 will also be set out in DEN ?                                         t N

Excerpt from Modesto Bee, May 31

http://www.modbee.com/news/article80929617.html

Amtrak’s boss rode his official train into Modesto to talk about upgrading its San Joaquin Corridor…

Boardman’s trip started Thursday of last week in Washington, D.C. He rode the Capitol Limited route from there to Chicago, then switched to the Southwest Chief to Los Angeles. He got to Bakersfield via a slow ride across the Tehachapi Mountains, on substandard track that has forced Amtrak to use buses for regular customers. He passed stations that included Merced and Denair before arriving in Modesto.

“It’s the best way for me to see what’s going on with the railroad,” Boardman said. He planned to reach Sacramento on Wednesday to accept the last of 70 electric locomotives being built there by Siemens for use on the East Coast.

SEPTA has leased it for an undetermined period of time presumably to check clearances and general system compatability. I would expect there to be a large degree of similarity between the fleets if they are not identical but for traction moter gearing.

Several sites have pictures of 664 running tests on SEPTA.  Unconfirmed it is a 1 months lease.  Wonder if this will mean very close similarity of SEPTA's to Amtrak except for maybe some upgrades ?

Unconfirmed that 667 will be leaving California.  Some one may have more information.

Now reported to have left Davis too late today. Maybe on tomorrow's CAL Z ?

Yes, there is no 666. There are 70 units numbered 600-665 and 667-670.

Yet there is an Amtrak train 666.  (Weekend Keystone service).  Maybe having motor 666 leading train 666 would open some portal to hell.  Insert Philadelphia joke here...

It's been fun.  But it isn't much fun anymore.   Signing off for now.

On a recent N.E. corridor trip saw an ACS-64 with the name David L. Gunn. Good to know he was honored in this way.
