BN U30C 5383 is the "regular" passenger diesel at the Illinois Railway Museum; it was repainted to green and black this past year.

Also, Penn Eastern Lines in PA runs several B23-7s, B30-7s and perhaps one U-Boat as well as several EMDs.

I believe CSX has a few C30-7s left to finish out their years working in Waycross, Ga.

Up here in michigan on the HURON AND EASTERN they have two U23B's they are ex central michigan units they are used on everything from grain trains to coal trains they are numbered 8905 & 8903.
In addition to the U23B's, HESR also rosters a pair of ex BNSF C30-7's (one in BNSF Heritage I paint) and an ex BN B30-7, and 3 ex BN B30-7AB's.

Here in Brazil we have hundred of U-boats in operation condition. Also we imported more than 500 second hand units from US and put them on the tracks again after a small restoration. Some received BB+BB trucks to run on meter gauge tracks and others still run on C-C trucks. Most of brazilian fleeet is GE and the oldest units are from 1956!

The Georgia Central has some high nosed GE U-Boats still "chugging" away on the Lyons to Savannah line in Georgia.

I think your right.

How are they doing ? Would you call them reliable or troublesome ?

Finger Lakes Railway in Upstate NY has 5 B23-7s and at least one U23B.

Providence & Worcester in MA/RI has a bunch of dash 8s. They have some dash 7s left I think including some of the former BN cabless B30s.

Ohio Central has some of the old Monogahela Super 7s.

Meridian Southern Railway in Mississippi has 5 B23-7s.

Nashville & Eastern also runs dash 7s.

Old GE's
Posted by CSSHEGEWISCH on Monday, June 4, 2007 10:29 AM
Old EMD power is still fairly plentiful and there are still a few roads that operate with primarily Alco rosters.  Besides TransKentucky Transportation and Lake Superior & Ishpeming, are there any other roads that operate primarily with old GE's (Dash-7 or U-Boats)?
The daily commute is part of everyday life but I get two rides a day out of it. Paul
