Was there anything like dynamic braking for a Steam Loco.?
I do not know what exactly...fill the chambers with pressure and then let the pistons force the steam out the stack maybe...something like that perhaps...

Anyway.....thanks for the link. Pretty much Explained/Answered all the questions I had.
Was kind of wondering if they could set up some kind of "Out Of Phase" pressure in the cyliders that would "fight" the pistons.
Guess there was something like that tried...it created a lot of heat and lubrication concerns if my quick browsing was accurate.

I still cannot get over how many Railroads there use to be in the USA and How Many decent jobs they provided for us.
