According to Trains Magazine, cp hudson to cross Canada and the United States this August

and September. Where in the United States? Is there a web site to find out further information?

Suggest some one video tape the cp hudson and put it on the "You Tube" web site. I will also

ask at the upcoming Fullerton Railroad Days event, May 5 and 6.

The information you need is on the Friends of 261 [the Milwaukee Road 4-8-4] website:

http://www.261.com/

The Hudson will travel from Calgary, Canada to the Twin Cities, thence to Milwaukee and Chicago (franklin park) , and then back, but with double headers with the 261 from the Twin Cities to LaCrosse WI and back.

We have seen this engine in Milwaukee before, and also have seen it double head with 261 before but no matter how many times you see it, this is a MUST SEE event for any railfan who can make it to the midwest.

Ya this should be good. Apparently there will be trains (doubleheaders?) running from Mpls east into Wisconsin (over the Osceola and St.Croix's low bridge) and west to Annandale and Buffalo. The CP mainline from St.Paul to Milw/Chicago is only two miles from my house, hope to get some good pics and/or video !! Big Smile [:D]

If the steam won't come to you, ya gotta go to the steam.  There are motels in Wisconsin, Minnesota and Illinois.  Honest!   Some of them are even near active rail lines.

It's "crossing" Canada in the same way that a bus from Seattle to Minneapolis would be "crossing" the USA. Clown [:o)]

Yup there's a motel on the border of Cottage Grove and St. Paul Park MN that faces the BNSF/CP mainlines running along the Mississippi River.

BTW I've got my tickets for the 261/Hudson double header Sept 15th!!
