Have a lot of money to spend?  Place your bid for a one-and-a-half hour ride in the cab of Big Boy July 3:

"I'd be happier with the dollar!"

It's been fun.  But it isn't much fun anymore.   Signing off for now.

I know that many are skeptical about some things like this, but if I was single and had unlimited money to play with, I would bid.

I wonder if this can be a deduction since it goes to the museum?

Jeez. back in the '90s all you needed for a cab ride in 844 or 3985 was a box of high-quality cigars to "bribe" Steve Lee with!  Wink

A real bargain when you remember that you occasionally hear about someone paying more than ten times as much for a little piece of cardboard with a picture of a baseball player on it.

Suspect the bid will grow geometrically closer to the end of bidding.

So the winning bid was $21,000 or so.  But there's lots of rumors/speculation/screenshots saying that the winner bid it as a joke.  Apparently he was a memebr of one of those supposedly edgy "anti-foamer even though everyone there is a foamer" type facebook groups.

Also some gofundmes set up, but who knows if they are legit, or people pretending to be funny.  Hard to tell if anything is real anymore.

It's been fun.  But it isn't much fun anymore.   Signing off for now.

The gofundme was yet another joke, started by one of the admins of one of those 'edgy' Facebook groups (this particular guy also runs the Sawenhalve Scrap parody page).  He stopped it after raising a few hundred bucks (yes, people actually donated to it) and everyone's now moving on to the next flavour of the day, whatever that may be.

I'm curious if the 'winning' bidder is going to cash out his savings or cut his losses by paying whatever penalty or fine Ebay has for fraudulent bids.

Greetings from Alberta

The UP site no longer takes one to the bidding.
