I asked about that yesterday on the video page. Looked like a packing issue to me because the steam (condensate cloud) was from the firemans side front engine cylinder and there was no similar emmision from the rear engine's cylinder.

Max and I were there to see 4014 and 844 come into Laramie, from the engineer's side. Later I saw video taken from the fireman's side of the track. It seemed to me that the piston rod packing on that side was leaking again. Has anyone else noticed this?

What must the ROI fanatics be thinking?   A train of 16 units-- the first 13 dedicated to power and support of power, and a "payload" of three cars.

Judging by the crowds, though, it looks like a successful PR event.

Huge crowds gather at the Union Pacific depot in Laramie, Wyo., to greet the arrival of Big Boy 4-8-8-4 No. 4014 and 4-8-4 No. 844 as they make the first stop on their journey to Utah for the Golden Spike sesquicentennial. Follow Trains News Wire f...
