Ok heres a really dumb question, don't frget i'm from CANADA, and don't see these every day... I saw a BNSF locomotive go by today.. I could look this up.. but what is the history of that railroad, seeing as the locomotive was in the "Santa Fe" paint scheme, I believe that i can pull the name "Santa Fe" out of BNSF, much more then that, i have no clue, is it a company recently formed?

Being from "South of the border" we in North Dakota are in BNSF country. If you go to the Internet and type in BNSF there are many sites that describe part or all the history. It is a rich interesting history and combination of many fallen flags such as The Sante Fe, Northern Pacific, Great Northern, SLSF, and many more. Have fun looking it up.

The BN part of name refers to the Burlington Northern RR. The Burlington Northern itself was the product of the 1970 merger of the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy RR with the Northern Pacific RR with the Great Northern RR with the Spokane, Portland, & Seattle RR. These railroads were originally controlled by the great American railroad baron, James J. Hill. I believe a Supreme Court decision in the 1890's prevented Mr. Hill from combining his railroads into one operating unit.

You are the pro here. Why don't you tell me? I sure wouldn't want you to deal me annother absolute red. Heaven knows how embarassed I was to find out that locomotives have no automatic brake valves. Oh, by the way, I have nothing against Canadiens. Seem to be pretty cool folks.

Next time you try to bust somebody's balls, be sure that you have your facts straight. That is the only point that is being conveyed here. Now, I'm going to go to work and try to find that auto brake valve and send one up to the land of Molson for you.

Yep, your so right, I'm dumb, can't tell the difference between a freight train and a Ford F-150, i wouldn't know Red from Green, I sure don't know the difference between any signals, your so right, i should never have challenged you

I followed this whole argument from where it started, and it started with YOUR crass comments. And it accelerated with you calling people "***" Get some maturity, quick!

Dave, what happened is that super hogger Kev stuck his foot in his mouth under annother thread (see Engine Levels) and tryed bustin my balls. After he started getting bruised up a little, he didn't wanna play anymore. His lack of RR knowledge started showing. He portrays himself as a real player, or old head on the RR. Which he is apparently not!

It is starting to get crazy that one, there are so many posts.. I gave up a while ago trying to follow them.

KEN- once again, for the record (and i won't force you to admit i am right) it all started by you insulting what i do, and whom i work for, and for the ksot part.. anyone would take exception to that. If you insulted where anyone worked on here.. they would clearley be insulted.. I'm not a brain surgeon, and i can figure that out.
I may not be the brightest person around here, ken you clearely have more expierience in this field then i do, and i thank you for correcting my technical errors.

Kev, like I said in annother post. I learn every day. One thing that I learned working with a bunch of old heads is humility. If you open your mouth outta turn they will lay waste to you. It is part of the RR culture. Perfect example of an old head is J. If I popped off to him, he would slap me down. That guy was moving freight when I was still poopin' green. Ed has chosen the RR as a career later in life, but, his knowledge pool is deep. Compared to the old heads on this job, I'm just a boy. I also apologize for slammin your job. I would be pissed if somebody slammed my road (no matter how many claims they deny, and how much they make me mad). As I said in the "engine levels," thread; I will retract my claws.

I still remember the old EMD f series they used to run, i was a little tyke back then, almost every days somehtign would go wrong with those.. An axel would fall off (in various locations too), the engine would catch on fire.. no one was ever hurt, Fuses would continuously blow. I remember once when the engine lost all power.. it just litteraly all the elctronics stopped working ... like a car if you put it in neutral going down a hill and turn the engine off.. They just kept spending millions on revamping them instead of buying new ones. last year that changed and they bought all new locomotives. the range from EMD90MAC, to the new GE locomotive "Lego train". we still use one old EMD F series, Its called "old reliable" never broke down once.

Those where the days...
