I still remember the old EMD f series they used to run, i was a little tyke back then, almost every days somehtign would go wrong with those.. An axel would fall off (in various locations too), the engine would catch on fire.. no one was ever hurt, Fuses would continuously blow. I remember once when the engine lost all power.. it just litteraly all the elctronics stopped working ... like a car if you put it in neutral going down a hill and turn the engine off.. They just kept spending millions on revamping them instead of buying new ones. last year that changed and they bought all new locomotives. the range from EMD90MAC, to the new GE locomotive "Lego train". we still use one old EMD F series, Its called "old reliable" never broke down once. <br /> <br />Those where the days... <br /> <br />oh and Ken..
