It's quite remarkable that it's still in it's original CB&Q paint. It's always sad to see any piece of railroad equipment meet the scrapper's torch, but I can't get over the fact that there are scrapyards that will actually cut up perfectly good cabooses. Unlike other rolling stock, cabooses are in demand from many people and are used to serve many purposes and there is a large market for them outside of railfans, railroad museums, etc. Reply Edit Anonymous Member sinceApril 2003 305,205 posts Posted by Anonymous on Friday, April 15, 2005 2:11 AM QUOTE: Originally posted by WIAR Originally posted by spbed Why not you[?][?][?] If I had the dough I would! Reply Edit redflasher1 Member sinceOctober 2002 53 posts Posted by redflasher1 on Friday, April 15, 2005 8:05 AM I travel from Minneapolis to St. Cloud every weekend. I have seen this caboose several times parked at the scrap yard. They have been cutting up BN boxcars that apparently were part of a derail. They have a large quantity of wheel/axle (s) stacked in their yard also. If I were 20 years younger, I would try to buy it but too old now for big projects. It looks like it is in pretty good shape from the road. Reply Join our Community! Our community is FREE to join. To participate you must either login or register for an account.
