I don't know much about animal abuse at the circus but to me a circus has animals. Lion tamers and all that. I've been to the RBBB once when I was a kid and the Clyde Beatty when I was even younger and they both had animals. That is what I expect at a circus, but that's just me. I do recall when they marched the elephants though the Midtown? tunnel when they put the train in the Sunnyside yards. I would have like to have seen that!

The article did say that they would no longer have animals in the show. What's a circus without elephants and lions? Not much of a circus, I'd say.

Before Covid, Cirque du Soleil was doing extremely well while the RBBB was dead. So I guess to answer that question - a curcus without animal abuse was successful?

I seem to recall that Cirque du Soleil has had several performer deaths, so I guess humans are animals that can be abused.

Never too old to have a happy childhood!

It's been fun.  But it isn't much fun anymore.   Signing off for now.

I guess that the aerialists, clowns and other human performers don't count.

Cool!  Kids should be able to see the circus once a year like I did!

At least until the "animal rights activists" get done...

One group is trying to get an elephant recognized as a person...

It'd have to be trucks, most likely in convoy.  They've sold off all the rail equipment.

Unless the trucks and/or equipment containers are loaded on flatcars and passenger railcars are rented or leased as needed.

I read in the paper today about how Ringling Brothers is coming back. I wonder, are they going back on the rail or only using trucks this time. They've eliminated the animals so I would guess trucks only. Going to be like Cirque de Soleil, I suppose.
