We are fortunate that our station is on a state highway that serves as a conduit to the central Adirondacks, and is near a popular spot for vacationers and day-trippers. And just a little way out of town, you're right in the middle of the Adirondack forest.
Our longer trains run out of Utica, hard by the NYS Thruway, so have an easier audience to attain.
Of course, it helps to have a friendly host, but with virtually zero traffic, no railroad is going to be interested in keeping the line.
