I completely understand the points that have been made here, I thought since our user name on here is Pro Rail Productions I thought there would not be a issue but clearly you all have one so for now on I will only post just a link and the description!

Overmod I have no objections with them using a 'business name' (or a hopefully-soon-to-be-established YouTube channel name) for posting. Think of it as truth in advertising: those with some moral objection to watching videos where the initial clickthrough is 'for profit' will know not to go just by looking at the poster, and others will know what to expect. Frankly the excuse that they're too 'small' to take the time to do captioning or provide some voiceovers when they use the term "Pro" in their name would be laughable if it weren't so sad. There are plenty of railfan channels on YouTube that have the negligible investment in equipment to get that stuff done, and have the fundamental love of the subject to provide it whether or not they have their base of subscribers larger than 600 or so. It could very simply be done to a reasonable extent just by talking into the phone while shooting the video footage, if editing apps are too rich for the promoters' expense accounts or whatever. Perhaps when they have enough money saved up to buy the "t" in Productions, they'll be better able to think about what they could provide.

Thanks to Chris / CopCarSS for my avatar.
OvermodBut the advertising for subscribes and notifications in the posts has to stop. Now. And not be repeated ever again. It's an explicit violation of the Kalmbach TOS in more than one way, and I'm far from the only one here irritated by it.
One great start would be to post the videos under some other screen name. The current screen name is an advertisement in and of itself. Credit where credit is due comes from the content of the video.
And, as has been said, leave the self promotion out of the text accompanying the video. Something like "Here's some video of my recent railfanning trip to Podunk" is sufficient.

That's fine and delightful. And people who don't want to watch can just 'not click the video'.

Anyone clicking the link through to the video will, I'm sure, be treated to all sorts of channel-building pleas. That's the appropriate place for the subscribe and bell requests -- on your own content and your own time. Not here.
See the HybridHobby post about a week ago for a more acceptable fashion of providing videos to this community.
Not buying it.
Regardless of the forum rules, I would rather not have this discussion forum's front page turned into nothing but multiple ads for videos on other sites.
It's been fun. But it isn't much fun anymore. Signing off for now.
The opinions expressed here represent my own and not those of my employer, any other railroad, company, or person.t fun any
zugmann Really? how many of these ads and cries for likes and subscribers are we going to get? Does Kalmbach get a take of this?
