Mathematics is not a strong suit of most Oregon residents.

Wildwood has made attempts to come up with a rental agreement for the parking spaces at the same rate as the Hood River Hotel, which rents a section of the lot, but the railroad wanted to charge Wildwood more than Hood River Hotel’s rate, Huntington said.

“It’s really frustrating. We’ve tried to make a deal with them to rent the parking, but they don’t want to rent the parking,” said Huntington, adding that there have been a lot of “reasonable deals” — including an offer to set up paid parking meters in the lot — that the railroad rejected.

Sounds like they are willing to rent it, just not for free because 'it is for the children' ...

Anybody notice the math error? ... The academy charges $10,500, but the state pays $10,442 per student, yet the academy claims they charge less.  Granted it is only $58, but still the academy charges that much MORE than the state.

Unless you pay $2,000 per month, then you pay from Aug 1st to Jan 1st, that is 6 months so you pay $12,000.

Don't forget - Oregon residents are already paying the taxes that lets the state pay $10,442 in addition to the amount they will be paying the Wildwood Academy....

Mathmatical justification is not a strong point of the Wildwood experience.....

You have to do this sometimes to enforce property rights.   I think I would side with the railroad, though the railroad could have taken the case to civil court first instead of attempting the blockade.

If this kind of math is taught at the academy, I would not consider sending children there.

It is all about the Benjamins - who has them and who wants them.

Sounds like a license agreement more than an easement and somebody is in breach of contract. (Things the newsworker would not understand)
