Laredo TX now #1 trade hub

From the article: Mexico recently surpassed China and Canada as America's top trading partner, which helped catapult Laredo past Los Angeles to become the number one port in the country. About $20 billion worth of goods flowed through during the month of March — mostly automotive parts.

I wonder if this will have any impact on the ports on the coasts, as well as the Panama Canal, which is currently suffering a major drought that is affecting shipping.

"Lot of moving parts" (pun not intended) to these kinds of things.  Probably very specific to an industry, maybe even to specific manufacturers or importers.  Nevertheless, when aggregated a trend will likely appear.  See what gets published in the Wall Street Journal, Journal of Commerce, or similar publications.
